Unfortunately, I would certainly agree with a couple of the issues raised here. 1) Surface marred by grinding marks 2) Stone slightly warped. Essentially, a lot of money to pay for a substandard product. After some considerable effort I managed to remove the grinding marks, but unfortunately, I was unable to remedy the warping.

La grana è realmente ultrafine, queste pietre sono spesso più fini di altre marchiate 8000. Raccomando di maneggiarle con estrema cura, come tutte le pietre sono molto fragili, in caso di caduta si spezzano.

Used some Christmas money to buy this stone. Sticker shock kept me at bay for ever. So glad to have it now. Get your knife as sharp as you can then use this to take it to the next level. I'm talking hair popping, mirror polished edge. Worth saving up for.

This is an excellent stone that fits perfectly between the finest diamond stones and the very very fine preparations that are used with strops. The large surface area makes them last longer between cleaning than crock sticks, although they seem to have similar fineness. For most, this is probably as fine as they will want to go, the "tooth" that is left at the end of slow and careful use of this stone is perfect for skinning. If you want to go finer, you will have to get a strop and polishing compound.
