5 stars not for being a top quality product, but for doing what's described. For the money, it does the job. It reads from a wide variety of memory sticks, displays movies at a top quality, and attaches subtitles from a .sub format with no hassle. If it plays an .mkv file that contains subtitles, it reads through that too. I wanted a simple player to play full HD movie files, and it offers the experience as expected!

Plays the mp4s with standard codecs, doesn't seem to work for non-standard codecs. All round simple and compact design 4/5

A good buy well priced

I really wanted to like this media player, but it fell short in a couple of key areas. First, it doesn’t recognize my Seagate Barracuda 4TB drive, which is a big disappointment since I bought it specifically to handle my larger media library. Smaller drives work fine, but if you’re planning to use anything above 2TB, beware. The remote control is also pretty flimsy—it feels cheap in the hand, the buttons are unresponsive at times, and you really have to point it directly at the box for it to register. For a device in this price range, I expected something sturdier. On the positive side, the interface is straightforward and video playback is smooth when it works with a supported drive. But with such limited storage compatibility and a frustrating remote, I can’t recommend this for anyone with a large media collection.

From the start, the device was glitchy (turning off by itself) but now, only a few weeks after buying it, it won't play at all. Or, more annoyingly, it starts a movie and then (3 min in) leaps to the next movie & next & next... and then turns off. Not worth it!

Works fine. Only just got it but first tests look great. Device is quick to respond. Remote a bit flimsy but does the job. I needed this because my "smart" Samsung TV is about seven years old so not smart enough for a lot of basic video files, which stutter. This device reads them fine. Also reads subtitles, whether embeddded or .srt files. The GUI is clear.

Bought one for my dad, a technophobe in his 80s. He loves it as it's very easy to navigate and plays (so far) and and every format of file tried. So impressed we then bought another for ourselves and are just and impressed.
