I've had a head gasket problems in Astras before, and I was worried it was that. No obvious leaks anywhere, and only going down when it's running. This has been in for a good few hundred miles and a couple of weeks and it's not gone down one bit! Literally drop it in and run the engine, no special timing or anything... Will seal a leaking water pump gasket, but a seal with a rotating shaft is unlikely..but at the price of Sealit, worth a try. Changing a water pump for new can be difficult , it all depends on access. If you do put a new one in, refill the system with coolant very slowly so there are no air locks and use any bleed scres there may be. If you get a lot of air locks , the new water pump seal can burn out and leak too, when you start up **Q: If expansion tank looks empty, should i put coolant in it before using this?** A: turn on heaters to hot open all vents to circulate water in system get there air out Put it all in and top up to max with antifreeze winters here then take your car for a drive helps to maintain excelleration. it worked on my 5 series BMW 2014 had lost half a pint since using this have not lost a drop done over 200 miles only check when completely cold. **Q: Oil in coolant system** A: Yes sounds like head gasket issue use this product it will form a seal as a temporary fix for approximately 3 months .
