Kids safety, Paramount to any parent
Very good, does what you buy if for, cable length just right for my windows. I bought 7 of these and one key fits all locksYou may not want that,But its not a lock to keep out intruders, its to keep children safe, so I am not that bothered. The lock was easy to fit, although I did not use the supplied security screws that can not be easily undone I used regular pozi head screws. My only grumble is, there are no caps supplied to conceal the screw heads on the part that is on the end of the wire flexyet there are supplied caps to conceal the screw heads on the locking side. That's a minor cosmetic thing so its still 5 stars from me, as this is a good, sturdy, easy to operate child safety lock. The price is a little high, compounded if you need a few of these but..... Better safe and worry free than buy a budget priced lockthat may not do the job properly

Excellent
Just moved to a bungalow and bought two of these because of needing to keep cats in for a while but wanting to open the windows. They're really excellent but I'm glad I read other people's advice about not using the screws that come with the set as they're the type that can't be removed without removing the whole thing (I'm not sure if that's right but it's something like that!). It was easy enough to get alternative screws. We've mounted the lock not in the centre of the window as shown in the pictures, but at the bottom of the window (modern pvc double glazing type) so the bit that's attached to the window isn't so 'in your face' if you like, plus the added bonus was that instead of attaching the other end to the upright pvc part of the window, we could attach it to the strip along the wooden windowsill. So the whole thing works really well but is much more discreet than in the photos shown. Very good for a sense of security at night too during the summer for having windows open on the ground floor. It's given the cats a chance to sit by the open window without escaping, until they get used to the place. They're excellent quality too (the locks, not the cats! Well the cats are too of course!.)

Easy to install and use
I used this window restrictor on a UPVC double glazing unit. I replaced the security screws with my own to ensure I can remove it easily one day when I need to. Absolutely no problem in use and feels strong and secure. I dropped a star because it only came with one key - a spare is always handy and something I expected.

You can't put a price on your children's safety
Found our eldest, aged five, climbing on his bedroom window ledge recently and decided this was a necessity. Now have these on a single window in each of our kids bedrooms and feel much happier leaving them open at night and during the hot summer days. Fitted very easily and quickly to our uPVC windows. Just needed 3mm holes drilling for all x4 mounting screws. Locking mechanism on one part of window and security lead on the other. As others have said, the x4 security screws are a little OTT and unnecessary, that said I have used them just fine on both of mine. Slightly more fiddly to tighten up and once screwed in they aren't easily removable so you only get one shot to get them right. The only downside to this in my mind would be if one of your fixings didn't hold too well, you wouldn't easily be able to remove the screw without drilling it out. Build quality on this product is superb though, really well made, solid. Decent key mechanism. One key fits all all locks in case you lose one. Would certainly buy this again over a cheaper alternative.

Jackloc Safety Window Restrictor
Now, before i start this is a review of the product, not the delivery etc etc, which was very good. The product is as described,a well made window restritor. If you follow the instructions correctly ie pilot drill the holes before screwing, then you will have no problem what so ever. There are plenty of reviews on here saying the security screw are worse than useless, but no doubt these people read the reviews but still used them and are now bitching about it. If youre that worried about the screws then dont use them, normal screws are a few pence and work just as well. As for the person who said you need a special screw driver for the screw must be a bit special themselves, you need a flat head screwdriver and thats it. So to recap for the stupid people........pilot drill hole, 3mm should surfice, screw in screw with screwdriver, job done! I didnt bother with the security screws because my 19 month old doesnt know how to use a screwdriver yet, so im sure theyll be secure and no bugger is going to break in unless they want the wrath of my missus, god help them!A good product, a little bit pricey, but what price can you put on safety especially if a child is involved. For those who dont have common sense, avoid, for those who do, buy away its a good product.

More expensive than some others, but sturdy and easy to install.
These are a bit more expensive than some other brands, but they are sturdy and give confidence that they'll do the job well. Installation is easy, although the screws that come with it are a bit tough to get in. These screws WILL NOT come back out again, so if you want to be taking the locks off again at any time, you can substitute with normal screws of the same size. Sturdy, easy to install and will keep my wee boy from falling out the window....money well spent. Originally bought one, now I've ordered 5 more.

Good product, great for child safety but only a mild deterrent to a burglar.
These locks are very easy to fit although they come with screws that can't be unscrewed which I appreciate is a safety feature but if you use them and the lock was to break, or you decided you wanted to remove them, then you'd have a bit of a problem. I used normal screws which worked fine.We use them on a window which we leave open for the cat to get in and wanted something that would allow us to do this whilst preventing someone gettting in, Although they do stop the window opening someone determined to get in, particularly if they had cutters, would be able to do so.If you're using them as a child safety device then they are absolutely perfect and thoroughly recommended
