The plastics are understandably a bit on the cheap side but sturdy enough and, I think it comes with the 20" bar because, if/when you bury it up the hilt, the heat of the exhaust starts melting the plastic chain-brake a bit. This is probably due more to the fact that the metal and technology used for the 2-stroke motor is obviously cheaper than a Husky or Sthil, causing the chainsaw to run slightly hotter than its more expensive competitors. This is no big deal though as even with a couple of inches clearance to allow sufficient exhaust flow, you still have 18" to play with (so to speak). It's a great little saw, the chain hasn't required sharpening yet after 1x fell and sned, along with a good few hours of cross-cutting and, along with the bar, feels where the best quality has been used by the manufacturer (which in my book are the most important parts for stress-free operation). Cuts nice and straight and the 62cc engine is more than adequate for most jobs, hasn't snagged or got pinched/stuck yet as a result. Comes with a great manual, very easy to use/understand. All the safety features are present and fully functional and the saw is both aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically designed. At the end of the day, it paid for itself after 3/4 of a days' work! that's is a win in my opinion. Much better than spending 4x the value of this saw, on an old beat up second hand 346. Having said that though, it is a case of 'horses for courses', as if you have the money to spend on a brand new Husky or Sthil then it too will pay for itself by lasting for well over a decade if used and maintained correctly. However after the warranty runs out on one of those saws, it's going to cost you money. where as the price of this saw will avoid that scenario for you. If like me however and money's a bit tight, then look no further. Hope this helps. Had difficulty starting initially but after priming and allowing the fuel to make it's way through the Carburetor and waiting a few minutes, it now starts faultlessly each and every time. A few tips; when starting from cold, pull the choke fully out, give the starter cord a few tugs, choke back in and away you go. It performs very well, goes through wood like a knife to butter. An added bonus of course is the extra spare chain. After running out of fuel the 1st time, I checked the oil level which was now half empty so be aware of this and top up the oil when refuelling. Also, be aware of the chain going slack quite quickly at the beginning; don't forget to loosen both nuts before taking up the slack by turning the adjustment screw clockwise or otherwise you will not be able to complete the task. I bought this Chainsaw after reading other people's reviews and it's only fair I return the compliment and give my own feedback. This is a very good investment, a bargain price compared to 'well known' brands which I think are well overpriced. Seems that the tension mechanism, which is made out of plastic, was all pranged and I therefore could not adjust the tightening belt to fit around the wheel above the sprocket. Impossible to fix. Ended up having to rip the tightening belt out altogether just in order to get the guard back on, and then when trying to start the damn thing up for the first time, the power cord got jammed (no doubt another low quality plastic mechanism getting pranged........I cut my losses at that point. Bought this years ago but never got around to checking it out until I had a use for it. Turns out it is absolutely useless. Too late for a refund now I guess. Lesson learned......don't ever buy cheap crap. I am sure that the majority of these machines are not total factory rejects like the one I got, but that is the thing with Chinese manufacturing. No quality control.
