## Description

Product Description The KEF Q350 bookshelf speaker, the bigger brother of the KEF Q150, incorporates and successfully builds upon everything KEF fans have come to know and love about the bookshelf speaker. The New Q350 boasts a revamped Unit-Q driver array with a damped tweeter loading tube designed to smooth out treble frequencies, and reimagined crossovers to provide cleaner and more accurate bass. Architecturally, the Q350 benefits from a New port, which has been moved to the rear of the speaker to improve audio clarity, and the Unit-Q driver array has been relocated to the middle of the cabinet to reduce unwanted internal resonances. These changes between the Q300 and Q350 have transformed an already breathtaking bookshelf speaker into one that truly needs to be heard to be believed. The Q350 is available in sleek matte Black and white vinyl finishes. Grilles for the Q350 are sold separately. Dimension (H X W X D) with Rubber Feet 362mm (14.25 inches) x 210mm (8.26 inches) x 306mm (12.04 inches). Legal Disclaimer *Speaker Grilles sold separately

Review: Great value for money - Really good quality and sounding speakers for the price. Using these as surround rears and cannot fault them in anyway, they deliver with plenty bass and lifelike sound. I upgraded to high end cables which also helps and better soundstage too from the speakers. Overall very happy and thank you.
Review: Clear detailed sound that is bigger than you'd expect - I bought these as part of a plan to improve the old CD based hi-fi system I had, and explore music streaming. The details of all that are not really relevant here - apart from to let you know where I started from. What you do need to know is that I now have a system that consists of a Wiim Mini Streamer feeding via a Fibre Optic cable a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100 which in turn feeds a current model Rega Brio Amp which drives the Q350 speakers. The input I use is desertcart Music Unlimited (over WiFi) the vast majority of which is in CD Quality (44.1 KHz 16 Bit) or higher and my opinions are based on listening to this setup. To my ears the Q350’s sound very good indeed - the result is clear, very detailed and sounds much bigger than you’d expect given the size of the apeakers. The bass response is excellent in that you can hear what is going on rather than an indistinct rumble and I don’t find the treble overpowering even though I can hear small details that I hadn’t noticed before. FWIW I have the EQ turned off in the Wiim and there are no other tone controls here but I’m happy with how they sound. They are in a moderately furnished room that is roughly 14ft x 16ft, they are on either end of a unit 6.5ft apart and 18” high, they are sat on isolating foam pads (not the stick on rubber feet supplied with them). Although they are a bit too close to the rear wall (at 7”) I don’t feel the need to put the foam bungs in the rear ports (although I did try them to see if they helped - they didn’t really). FWIW these are two part affairs so you can either put the whole things into the ports or push the middle part out and use a sort of foam pipe to get less attenuation - I did find that if you put the whole things in you could blow them out with a bit of bass heavy music. You might need them though. The Brio is rated at 50w per channel and believe me it is more than capable of driving the Q350’s to the sort of sound level that will really annoy the neighbours whilst still sounding very clean. I tried my old Marantz PM-66SE amp with them and it also worked fine. There are reports of the Q350’s being difficult to drive but if your amp has some grunt you should be ok. Overall then the Q350’s are great from my perspective, but there are some caveats - there have to be some “buts” don’t there? My opinions are based on what I hear using this current set-up and my rather old ears in my living room – YMMV. I also only listen to the music I like which goes from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin through Talking Heads, Steely Dan, The Crusaders, Nirvana, Eminem, Linkin Park and Stormzy amongst others. How they would work with classical music I don’t know. Loudspeakers are always at the end of a Hi-Fi system and can only deal with what they are fed and the Q350’s will quite ruthlessly expose any weakness upstream, so if you are upgrading an old system like I was you may not want to start here. They will also reveal poor recording quality so if you are expecting your old records to be reinvigorated you might be disappointed. Although they sounded good straight out of the box they do improve a bit with use, they’re electromechanical so need to bed in a bit, like a new car does. Having done some research I was all set to buy the Elac Debut 6.2 at £299 but noticed these on offer at £349 in early January this year so I bought them on impulse. The current RRP is £549 although you can still get them at £439, I don't understand this pricing policy and I don't think it's helpful. Finally there is the entirely subjective issue of how they look, you don’t get grills (they’re about £30 extra) but I don’t mind that. Mine are black and more or less match the rest of the AV gear at that end of the room; my wife doesn’t seem to mind them. They are distinctive though and might not suit everyone.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are the Q 150 ready to wall hang?...Do they have a keyhole socket, or would I need to buy extra parts?**
A: These are best on stands. Unlike the Q100s which are front ported the Q150s are rear ported so best to not have too close to a wall. If you really want to hang them it would be best to fit the supplied Port bung foams. You will be limiting their capability and bass response by doing this.

**Q: Do these speakers come with stands?**
A: No they don't.

**Q: how long do these take to 'bed in'? sound is a bit thin, although only played for a few hrs so far**
A: Straight away.. you trying to say second hand is better than new? or that kef doesn't have the money / patience to do that themselves? come on man... think it through

**Q: How can you use them with your TV**
A: Hi there, you could get a amp to power the speakers. If you want an HDMI input, you would probably need to look at an AV amp/receiver, as regular stereo amplifiers tend not to offer that type of connection. Having said that you could probably connect via optical or even auxiliary/line input.

Then he would need the relevant cable to connect the TV to his amp, not forgetting speaker cables to go from the amp to the speakers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ More than I could have asked for! 10/10 would recommend
*by N***I on 18 April 2021*

Boy oh Boy!!! These speakers can ROCK!!! Just received these, plugged them in to a cheap Chi-Fi amp (Fosi Audio TDA 7498E) and was completely blown away. These speakers have thundering bass!! I did not expect to be completely floored by the sound. I watched a some movies on these... the explosions and gun shots are nerve wracking! Music is on another level.... perfection. Have I mentioned how good these speakers sound? This is my first set of Hi-end audio equipment...my amp probably pushes about 50 watts into these 8 Ohms speakers... I can not begin to fathom how much more better these speakers sound in a high end amp. PS: I bought the magnetic grille covers separately.
