August Wifi Multiroom Wireless Stereo WiFi Speaker WS150 – WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC Enabled, Compatible with Spotify, Tidal, Tune In and More! - 10W

This is a great little speaker. When I opened it i thought "oh man this is tiny" but it really kicks out some good volume. Good clear sound quality. The bass and drums are nicely defined so that you don't end up with them merging into one farty noise together. It is really easy to set up and use. I am definitely going to be getting more of these including a few of the larger model WS300 and set them up all over my house.

Brilliant WiFi speakers. They work via the WiFi from my Vodafone home hub and connect effortlessly from my iPhone 7. I can now stream music and radio programmes from iTunes and iPlayer Radio to every room in the house :-)

I took a gamble and bought 1 WS300 and 2 WS150's having just read a few of the reviews. Due to a neat offer on Amazon at the time, it only cost me £2 more than only buying two of the speakers! I've long hankered after a Sonos setup around the house, as friends with deeper pockets have impressed with the multi-room setups they have - but I've never been able to justify the cost of a clutch of Sonos speakers. I have experimented with a cheap AirPlay speaker (Tango Air) and AirPlay bridges to connect existing speakers, but can only achieve a multi-room setup via a Mac, not via iOS devices. So I thought we'd give August's new system a go... I plugged all three speakers in and turned them on out of the box, downloaded the August Alink app and followed the on-screen instructions - within 5 mins I have a multi-room setup that allows me to play the same thing (at different volumes) in three rooms, pair two and have a different source on the third, or have three things in three rooms. Perfect! The simple pleasure of having the same song playing in the bedroom, living room and kitchen as you walk around the house was exactly what I wanted and perfect for parties. A few points: - Music source. Can play local media off mobile device very easily from within ALink app. But I mostly use Google Play for music - in which case the multi-room setup appears under the name of the primary speaker (the master one, with the other two set up as slaves) on your AirPlay device list. So you can then stream from any app that supports AirPlay. I have no Android devices at the moment, but hopefully that will be the same. - As a portable speaker, switching a unit to Bluetooth when away from the house is easy. The WS150 is easily small enough to carry with you places and will chuck the WS300 in the car when on holiday. Battery seemed to last ~18 hrs and charges off any USB socket (micro-USB input). - Sound quality. Not as good as my Tango Air! These are small speakers: the WS150 only suits a small room on it's own; the WS300 is a bit gutless for filling the whole living room with loud beats. I sound have read the dimensions closer - the small size did surprise me slightly. I'm pleased with the multi-room thing, but will use something bigger when I want to annoy the neighbours. However... - Pairing left and right speakers. In the app, you can state if a speaker is left, right or both channels. Therefore, a pair of WS150's (or WS300's if you can afford it) make a great sounding combination. - Lag. Really disappointed that I can't use these speakers on Wi-Fi with video playback (like watching BBC iPlayer/Netflix whilst cooking). There is at least a 3 second lag which renders them useless for this (back to the Bluetooth mode or existing Bluetooth speakers for this). - Low battery notification. Silly point but the beeps woke me up at 3am when I'd moved a speaker into the bedroom and didn't plug it in! Be warned... - Looks. If that sort of thing is important to you, the design is neat and finish is good - though the charging socket on the back doesn't quite meet up with the hole cut into the metal, so a bit of giggling is required. Conclusion: I'm very pleased to have a simple to set up and run 3 room speaker system for under £200. I'd recommend the speakers to anyone also on a budget - but keep some of the limitations in mind so you're not disappointed.

Not as loud as expected and not very easy to set

First time attempting Wifi speakers after always using Bluetooth. Brought three, didn't bother opening the other two due to poor quality sound, unstable connection (tried on more than one router and wifi). On the plus side they were relatively simple to setup - just didn't work for more than 5 minutes. I was expecting much better considering the price. Amazon are picking these up tomorrow. Worth spending another £50 per speaker to get Sonos.

Third time lucky in finding an Airplay compatible speaker, thanks to Amazon I was able to return the others. Unlike the others it was easy to set up and has brilliant sound quality. The only slight gripe is the braille type touch controls on the top are difficult to see in bad light. Otherwise very pleased

Poor sound quality - high frequency roll off is extreme! On/Off switch is disproportionately small and low quality. Good form factor. Good battery life. Reasonable as a portable travel speaker, but if you're planning to use it for HIFI quality sound, you'll be disappointed.

Great sound, perfect addition to an airplay family. Wifi audio is IMHO more convenient than bluetooth

Das ist mein zweiter Lautsprecher von August, zuvor hatte die etwas kleineren Bluetooth-Lautsprecher MS 625, die ich aufgrund der schlechten Bluetoothverbindung wieder zurück geschickt habe. Mein Anliegen war es, mit zwei oder mehr Lautsprechern ein Netz aufzubauen, um z.B. in allen Räumen das gleiche an Musik zu hören. Nun habe ich mich an diesen hier gewagt und bin ganz angetan. Der Lautsprecher ließ sich problemlos ins Wlan integrieren und kann über die App gesteuert werden. Spotify und ein paar andere Dienste können über die App ausgewählt und abgespielt werden. Dienste, die in der App nicht vorhanden sind (z.B. Amazon Music) oder Wiedergabelisten von Itunes können via Airplay ebenso unkompliziert gestartet werden. Die App ist auf das Wesentliche reduziert und bietet nicht viel mehr, als die Auswahl der Dienste und die Einstellung der Lautstärke. Allerdings könnte man damit mehrere Lautsprecher gleichzeitig bedienen oder jeden der vorhandenen mit einem anderen Musikstück ansteuern. Das habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert, weil ich vorerst nur einen besitze. Der Klang der relativ kleinen Box ist erstaunlich gut und sie bringt bei voller Lautstärke ganz schön viel Ton raus :-), das hätte ich garnicht erwartet. Meine Räume sind recht klein, so dass die Box hier völlig ausreicht, bei größeren Raumen ist diese vielleicht nicht ganz ausreichend, dann wäre das Model mit den 15 W sicher besser. Ich werde sicher noch mindestens eine weitere Box dazukaufen.

Setup was easy and so far it's worked perfectly every time I've used it. Audio sounds great, charge lasts a long time and no problems with wireless connectivity to my iTunes media server. I use the "Remote" app from my old iPhone 5 to control it.

Great, will get more so there is music all over the block.

I love this speaker! I can program radio stations with the August app, connect via Bluetooth through my phone. It has great sound quality. Bought a second one for my mother-in-law

Avevo bisogno di un po di musica in casa e cercavo flessibilità di utilizzo. Ho piazzato 3 altoparlanti (2 WS150 ed un WS300) nel soggiorno ed attraverso l'app invio musica dall'iphone (utilizzo musica presente sullo smartphone o spotify) Ho potuto configurare i 2 WS150 come Left e Right mentre il WS300 centrale riproduce contemporaneamete L+R. Talvolta li sposto in camera da letto o in bagno )(doccia con musica e' speciale!) Ottimo rapporto qualità\prezzo non e' certo hifi ma la musica riempie la stanza e' chiara e pulita. Interessante la possibilità dei collegamenti: BT, WiFi, Aiplay, jack ed inoltre lo slot per la sd! Bel sistema
