Silverline Hose Reel 45m Capacity (547900), Green

Seen some reviews which suggested this wasn't all that great. I wanted a reel to tidy up the garden hose, and didn't want to spend a fortune on a fancy one, so opted for this. Whilst the plastic doesn't feel the most sturdy, it's well above what I expected from it. I originally wasn't planning on hooking it up to the hose directly, and just wanted it as a hose storage holder, but had a spare 2m of hose and a couple of connectors and ended up hooking it up properly. No leaks, no hassle. If you want a cheap option, and don't need anything fancy, this is ideal.

Great value for money & light weight saves on carriage. Plastic pins were a little tricky to insert, so need to check visually that holes lined up accurately. Think instructions should make it clear that these pins click when fully inserted. Rotating union was initially very stiff & despite using good quality reinforced hose, kinking occurred at first few attempts to reel in hose. Needed to be worked several times to free it up. Think it should be made clear that good quality reinfoeced hose shuoudl be used. That said, once these minor issues were resolved, the product fulfills expectations.

Did the quality control department go on holiday or something? This is so wonky, it looks like someone on training has made this. Or it's a reject. Won't sit straight on the wall (I'm having mine wall mounted). It's abomination. Other than that it holds the hose well.

Easy assembly good product

I usually use hozelocks, but I thought I would buy a cheaper alternative. Leaks a lot, and build quality is terrible. not sturdy and threw it out the first day.

Good bit of kit at a decent price

Built the hose reel. It is supposed to accommodate 40m hose barely manages 30m. The fixing method for the frame has come apart after 2 weeks, the winding mechanism is unsuitable for a hose lock hose, This product is not suited to purpose.0

This hose reel is incredible value for money when compared to other makes such as Hozelock. I've not used this for a hosepipe but for the mains hook up cable which supplies electricity for our caravan. Admittedly, I've cut off the hose adaptor to allow the cable to feed through. The item isn't the most sturdy and other brands like Hozelock feel stronger but you will have to pay a lot more money for one of those. If I ever need a reel for a hosepipe, I'd purchase another one of these without a doubt. I'm expecting the small green plugs which are used to attached the handles to need replacing as I believe a nut and bolt would do a better job.
