The Art of Prey

Absolutely loved this game, so I decided to get the art book. Print quality is nice, loved the artwork.

Absolutely beautiful design work I'm here. Wether a fan of the game or just Scif-Fi art, it's worth it.

In Arkanes smart and stylish revival of the 2006 first-person shooter (which apparently has something of a cult following, I never played it) the moon orbiting Talos-1 space station is being overrun by the Typhon, a shape shifting collection of Aliens that possess the ability to replicate humans and any number of inanimate objects. You play either a Male or Female Morgan Wu who needs to discover exactly what is going on. Very much like the universally praised, critically adored Bioshock that came before it, Arkane like Irrational has an immense talent at building worlds. Much like the Dishonoured series Arkane has fleshed out their Sci-Fi/Horror world with believable interesting characters in a gorgeously realised Art Deco world which is an utter pleasure to explore. Dark Horse has yet again produced a beautiful matte finished hardback book, over 184 pages displaying the characters, environments, weapons and tools used throughout the game, this is one of the better Art books, like the Deus Ex and Dishonoured 2 ones, highly recommended.

Images are squished together into a single A4 page when many of them deserve two page spreads. The layout of this book is terrible with wasted borders around many of the pieces. Has good information otherwise and the art itself is exactly what you'd expect from Arkane.

Absolutely gorgeous book! I adore all the details that the creators put into the game; everything was thought out and researched so that it seems like a plausible future of space technology. The Neo-Deco art style really breathes life and elegance to the Talos-1 Space Station, and it is superb when contrasted with the chilling beauty of space and the Typhon aliens. A joy to read! :)

This is a fantastic book with fantastic art work. I really loved the game, and was very excited to buy the art book.

Occorre dirlo? Chi compra questo libro lo fa per l'amore verso Prey. All'interno trovate tutto il meglio del processo creativo che ha dato al pubblico questo gioco. Estremamente consigliato.

Artikel kam schnell und ordentlich verpackt an. Schreibe hier mal das gleiche wie bei dem Hardcover zu "Art of Alien Isolation" von Titan Books... (kann getrost 1:1 übernommen werden !!!) Normalerweise Kauf ich keine Bücher über Spiele, aber bei (für mich) wirklich guten mach ich mal eine Ausnahme... Da ich das Spiel ausgiebig gespielt habe war ich schon auf die künstlerische Darstellung in dem Buch gespannt. Und ich wurde nicht entäuscht !. Hochwertige Darstellungen im ganzseitigen Format wechseln mit Detailzeichnungen ab. Das Buch ist zwar auf englisch, aber das macht hier nichts !. (Bilder sagen manchmal mehr als Worte ..) Wer es mag tiefer in diese Spiele und deren Entwicklung zu schauen ist hier genau richtig... (Um in den vollen Genuss dieses Buches zu kommen, sollte man das Spiel aber schon gespielt haben.) Klare Kaufempfehlung !!!.
