Good balance of features of capabilities
Been searching for egg boilers and poachers and the units that are available out there only do two poached eggs at a time or have some quirks with use. This one is simple on/off button and cut off when the water reservoir is empty so you add water based on the time you need it. Boiling eggs works as expected following the instructions, be sure to pierce the egg as instructed. For poaching, it takes a bit of experimenting with the timings. What I found that work so far is to grease the tray with butter, and use eggs in room temperature. Then adjust the timing to suit. I haven't tried making an omelette as seems a bit easier to just pull out a pan and actually brown as needed The additional tier is great to steam e.g., vegetables, use your own ramekin

Amazing value for money, very simple to use and easy control of desired level of cooking, and not having a buzzer is a real plus
If you've never used and egg cooker, you really must give them a go. You see them in catalogues, shops etc, and think what a lot of faff for just boiling an egg... However, by using a precise measurement of water each time, you get perfectly cooked eggs, reliably to the texture you like. The device then turns off and goes into a keep warm setting. Additionally this really is the quickest way to boil an egg as they start cooking almost immeidately as so little water is used. This device has one huge advantage over many, that it doesn't have a buzzer so you have to rush around the house back to the cooker to switch it off, it simply goes into a keep warm mode and keeps the eggs until YOU are ready for them. Typically it takes around 3 minutes for soft boiled eggs, a little longer for hard boiled. Also this device has a much simplier instructions, and you only need to remember the amount of water for 1-8 eggs or 9 to 16 eggs (I've never needed to cook this many but assume it works well with two levels as well as one. If your into body building or just need to feed a family lots of eggs, or run a bed and breakfast this really is ideal, and mine gets used several times a day. It also comes with handy trays for making coddled or 'poached' eggs, similar to the ones you get in McDonalds, only nicer!

A great product for people who eat eggs regularly.
In the beginning it was a gimmicky product. Used quite a bit to make omelette and poached eggs. The omelette are small but actually quite tasty. I'm not sure if anyone has used it as a egg boiler yet, so unable to give a feedbavk on this. Much of the timing is watching it and working it out for yourself. Pretty easy to clean. I knew the size was fairly small, but a great starting product. Probably about the right price for the product. The instructions are very easy to read, but as aforementioned timing is really down to preference.

Does the job but user manual is useless
The water cup is useless as it doesn't have level marks for 55ml or 65ml as needed should you want to follow the user guide. Even if you follow the user manual letter by letter you will not get your eggs as expected. I belive I need to do extra trials to find out the right amount of water and elapsed time. Still testing it, if too difficult, I am afraid It will go back to amazon.

Patience required to get the right balance of water to cook eggs
Very useful to poach 4 eggs at the same time. Takes a bit of practice to get the right balance of water to make the eggs how you like them but having used it a few times it’s really a step up from my smaller version.

Quality
What a great bit of kit but still experimenting with getting them just right with my swallow problem so I much prefer them runny, but it's a dam good cooker.

Not a good egg…
Don’t bother buying this. It doesn’t really work that well. If you follow the instructions you end up with nothing but under cooked slime. When it comes to poached eggs, VonShef should seriously consider making a special tool for extracting them from the machine. Removing a poached egg from the machine after cooking is akin to performing surgery and often ends up with the egg breaking up or landing on the floor. The cooking times suggested by the manufacturer are way too short. I persevered with it but, after half a dozen unsatisfactory attempts, it’s now permanently sat at the back of one of my kitchen cabinets. I won’t try to sell this on eBay or FB Marketplace, as I consider that it would be borderline unethical to ask anyone to pay anything for it.
