Draper 48221 Expert Tile and Glass Drilling Set (8 Pieces)

Having decided to have our Bathroom fully tiled I thought I had better buy some drill bits for the tiles! Decided on these based on other reviews. The Bathroom is now finished and it was time to put in Towel Rails, Toilet Roll Holder and a Mirror. I have to say I was very nervous! The last thing you would want to do is crack a tile.... Well I am here to tell you, if you are careful, follow the rules and take your time, these bits really work! I have drilled probably a dozen or so holes with them and they are brilliant. Make sure you mask the point of the hole with masking tape, this stops the bit sliding, make sure you have the drill at right angles to the wall and make sure the drill has enough power and is on a high enough speed. They cut through like a knife through butter and leave a perfect round clean hole, which for me is very satisfying. I'm not sure how long they will last and I would be inclined to change them once any evidence of wear was apparent but for the price this is an excellent set!

I have a new power shower to fit in my mums bathroom and having never drilled tiles before I did plenty of Google research! Sounds like a nightmare but I got these drill bits and had some tiles in my shed left over from when the bathroom was done so I though ibwill test them with these before I start drilling holes in the bathroom.... after reading the reviews I expected the worst but I was pleasantly surprised, these bits coped with ceramic tile like a hot knife through butter! They want to skid around a little on the surface but I used some tape on the surface and bingo they stayed where I wanted them... no problems at all.... obviously I still have to drill the bathroom tiles and I will update this review when I do that.... but draper toll are a well established brand... not the most expensive but I expect there products to do what they should and they haven't let me down! Can't speak for drilling glass or porcelain but if you want to drill ceramic tiles these are perfect for the job.... just use some masking tape on the surface to make a make and keep the drill in position

Good value for money, good quality, durable

When it comes to DIY I'm a novice, being absolutely honest I hate doing it. My wife wanted a bathroom cabinet put up and a mirror in the other bathroom. That meant drilling into ceramic tiles, a task that I was not looking forward to attempting. I put it off for as long as possible but the time came when I couldn't avoid the job any longer. I purchased these drill bits which seemed to fit what I was looking for. I used them today and they were brilliant they cut through the ceramic tile without drama and left a lovely neat hole, no cracked tiles or drama. Very good value and worth 5 stars.

After reading all the reviews I took a gamble on this. The smallest drill broke half way in the tile which was annoying but all the others worked well and didn't have any problems

Draper do seem to make good drill bits. I bough the twist drill bit box set and based on the fact they've done very well I bought these as I had a lot of tile drilling to do. I wasn't disappointed and have done everything I've needed and they're still perfect and ready for more. Never had a slip with these, they always drilled the perfect hole whether in ceramic or porcelain tiles. Basically they do what they suggest they do, and very well too. If you need tile bits, get these ones. They're good for drilling stress relief holes too, for when using an angle grinder to cut awkward shapes. Can't say fairer than that. On the strength of these, I've bought the Draper Masonry drill bites too.....!

Went through tiles like through butter, and left a very neat hole. I did use some masking tape to stop them slipping. Shame there isn't a nice case, but for this price you wouldn't expect one.

Every other set of drill bits that I own (and I own a lot), come with a robust container with the size of each drill bit clearly marked on the container. Very helpful when trying to identify smaller sizes as the markings on some of the drill bits are almost impossible to read. This set comes with a flimsy plastic unmarked container almost identical in quality to that used for the packaging of Supermarket fruit. It also comes with a lid that is so loosely fitting, it may as well not be there. Really surprised that Draper should resort to such penny-pinching as it's a classic example of spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar. That aside, they're of decent quality and all things considered, represent good value for money.

Ich hatte früher schlechte Erfahrung mit Bohren von Fliesen. Nun hatten wir ein Gäste WC in Angriff genommen und sind um das Bohren nicht drum herum gekommen. Also Glasbohrer gesucht und dieses Set gefunden. Einige Videos im Internet angeschaut. Bohren super einfach. Anzeichnen. Klebstreifen im Kreuz darüber kleben. Mit einer spitzen Schraube und Hammer kurz angekörnt. Mit einem Akkuschrauber ohne Bohrhammereinstellung mit geringer Drehzahl und zunächst kleinerem Bohrdurchmesser mit den Glasbohrern durch die Fliese bohren. Dann mit dem gewünschten Durchmesser aufbohren. Das weitere Loch dann mit Stein- oder Betonbohrer im Bohrhammermodus bohren. Sehr saubere Bohrlöcher.

Encore relativement peu utilisé, matériel de qualité a première vue

Recomiendo ampliamente éstas brocas, entran como una seda en las baldosas... Pero si recomiendo que sea una entrada limpia, es decir, sin mover el taladro en forma de cono, como cuando buscamos que un hueco se haga más grande, si hacemos ésto, la punta triangular se saldrá y a comprar otra. Por eso repito, es importante que la perforación sea recta, si lo hacéis así, tendréis broca para mucho tiempo.
