Fascinating
A fascinating walk through the rooms and garden of a house that offers insight into the connection between the public and private spheres of an individual, their family, and the spaces surrounding the home where murders most often occur.

Interesting insights
This book, as with others by the same author, begins with an interesting, possibly even a novel concept, in this case, discussing domestic murders, room by room. The author is presented with a number of case studies, some very modern and some well known, eg Mary Cotton, Moors Murderers and John Christie. It is certainly worth reading for the author's opinions and insights gained over decades of study and experience. However, some of the details therein are incorrect, although some of these are well established in the historiography of the subjects in question and more detailed studies of these necessarily brief narratives would be worth also consulting. This is certainly the case with some of the material concerning Rillington Place. The general reader, who this book is aimed at, will find it of interest and even old hands will find it of value. There is a bibliography for each chapter listing other books for the interested reader to pursue.

Prof. Wilson Does it Again!
As to avoid spoilers, I will not say anything about the content but Prof. Wilson has a very good way of explaining things in a really sensitive and respectful way. He’s really given me a great example to follow as pursue my own career in forensic science. This is no exception. Thank you, David.

‘There’s no place like Home’
I was anxious to read this, the title alone is enough to put you off! We all think of our homes as a safe place…. This book disputes that!It was a fascinating read and the ideal read for true crime readers.‘The door and the doorstep become an almost perfect example of when the homely can become uncanny and frightening’Knock, knock, knock. The cases mentioned in this book could be a spoiler for some readers.‘Evil doesn’t need to be invited to come into our home, because it’s already there.’
