It works
I could get a better edge on my kitchen knives using my whetstones, but it usually takes at least twenty minutes per knife. They are Scandia brand. There are better knives out there, but they are much more expensive, and the Scandia are fine for all around kitchen jobs. I got the Horl Cruise 2 roller sharpener. It works. It only took a few minutes, and I had seven knives, from a large butcher knife down to the boning and paring knives and my pocketknife done. I tried them on an overripe tomato. They were all able to make almost paper-thin slices. My only gripe is that the holding block for angling the blade has only a twenty-degree holder. Maybe I read the ad wrong, but I thought it came with a fifteen- and twenty-degree block. Not a deal breaker. Twenty degrees will get the job done.

Worth Every Penny
FINALLY!!! This gets my knives sharp. It's worth every penny. I spent more money on less expensive sharpeners without any success. It's so easy to use and I absolutely love the quality of it.

No 15 degree option on the magnetic blade holder, only 20 degree.
My Horl 2 Cruiser just came in. Several months ago I purchased the Horl 2 Oak sharpening kit for $154 so, since the Cruiser was a different color I 'assumed' (my bad) that these were the same. The Cruiser only has one 20 degree magnet while the more expensive one has a 20 degree on one side and a 15 degree on the other. Since I own both, it's not a big deal but it might be for someone who is looking to have the option to sharpen to a 15 degree edge. Regardless, I'm a huge fan of this sharpener. My knives have never been sharper and I look for things to cut instead of dreading it (I once had a quick trip to the ER due to a mishap with a dull blade). Docked one star for only having one edge option on the magnetic holder.

Saved My Wusthof
I've struggled for years with whetstones on all of my kitchen knives. The Horl put a killer edge on my Wusthof, a knife I had given up on for lack of ability to put a decent edge on it, in a few minutes. I'm sure it will handle the rest with equal ease. This was reviewed in the WSJ some time back; a Miami chef was raving about it for her sous chefs, the time it saved getting a good edge without ruining the blade. I wish I had gotten it sooner. The price put me off but, really, it's about the price of a good whetstone.

Works very well, better than I could do with a diamond sharpening stone
Previously I had purchased a SHARPAL Diamond Sharpening Stone and spent a couple hours going through all my knives with it. I thought I did rather well, the knives were sharper and I was happy. I had kept going back and forth between a rolling sharpener and the stone and decided to save the money and get the stone. Well I watched a few videos on YouTube and the rolling sharpener just kept nagging at me so I decided to give it a try.As well as I thought I did over a few hours with the sharpening stone, I achieved a much sharper and more consistent edge with the Horl in about 3-5min per knife. I'm blown away at how efficient it was. I opted for the Cruise since it uses the same diamond disc as the standard and the stainless steel honing side will work fine with my knives.I am sure you can get an even sharper edge with time, practice and skill using a diamond stone but I'm not interested in putting in that effort when my main purpose is to keep my kitchen knives sharp. This was so effortless I will have no problem taking it out to tidy up my knives any time rather than the weight of having to dedicate time to use a stone.I gave this 4 stars because as well as this works, the materials/engineering does not warrant this price tag. $99 I feel would be more fair but as said previously, the performance worked very well so I will be keeping it.

Works for me
Works like they say in the commercials, doesn't really work well with smaller knives, giving all of us an opportunity to buy bigger knives.
