Excellent Ultra Small Pin Clamps!!
9-1-26 I'm reviewing the SDK08 Test Clip Ultra Small. These are FANTASTIC! I didn't need them for anything I'm working on at the moment but I have needed these in the past. The clamps I have were still too big for the application I was using them for, which was a transmission module for an Audi. The wires were in a gelatin substance and extremely fine. The technician had ripped off the flex cable when removing said module, so the only way to retrieve any information was to go directly to the board. These clamps would have been perfect for that job, as they were hair thick wires going to the chip. These are as advertised and could easily clamp on legs of a TSOP chip with fine pitch. I tried this on a NAND 48TSOP chip, which I took video of, although it's a little tough to attach, it can be done. The clamps don't short to the next pins either, as seen in the video and pics. To connect leads to these clamps, simply use the leads you'd use on bread boards. These are easy to use, with a nice clamping force. The clamps stay secure and in place when attaching leads and doing your testing. I think they're a great price for what you get. They are much smaller than you realize in the images provided, but that's not an issue... I was just a little surprised. They include a carrying case to keep them organized and protected. I recommend these for those who do board work or work with electronics in general. A great tool to have in your arsenal.

Work great for .5mm pitch
I needed to get to a signal on my LQFP microprocessor with .5mm pitch pins. These clips are so small I had no trouble. They are really delicate and pull off rather easily. For this application thatโs not surprising. If you need to get onto pins this tightly spaced, these are your ticket. If your application is more forgiving then a bigger and stronger test clip would be better.

Needed for very small pins on SMD devices
This is needed when you need to connect to very small pins on SMD devices. They work very well on small to medium pins. They're very nicely made and good value.

A must-have for those tedious tasks working with dinky electronics.
When it comes to probing SOIC pins, these are about your only easy non-intrusive and inexpensive method. In the old days, I have used pack clips and such for probing LSI DIP's and quad flatpacks but SOIC >8 pins is a whole 'nuther situation because of the tiny dimensions in pin spacing. These clippy probes resemble a 'butterfly' with tiny, flimsy metal extendable pincers to grip the IC pin. Each pin is covered with a clear insulating layer so adjacent pin shorts 'should' not occur. Amazing these work. They do work but are extremely delicate and prone to getting pulled away. Just applying a row of 3 or more adjacent to each other is a micro-surgeon's job. So delicate that the force applied by the wire leads to carry the signal to an analyzer pod, is enough to dislodge the probe and possibly deform the pincers -and require reforming with tweezers or small needle-nose pliers. I use a blue putty to stabilize each clip as I build up the probing array. Even then, today's microelectronics are a total bitch for us right to repair types. I use these for numerous purposes- breadboarding, probing, interconnect jumpers and as a breakout debug or measurement aid. To ease the headaches, it is best to use patch leads made of silicone insulated fine stranded wire. Avoid patch leads with stiff insulation because when clustered together can impose an undesirable accumulation of force on the probed item (such as an IC with 8 to 32 wires and IC pin probe clips) which can tend to pull loose the clips or create an intermittent connection. With a lot of patience and dexterity, these work great. Unfortunately, these are likely to have a short lifetime as the pincers will deform from use and re-forming will fatigue the metal toward breakage. Ironically, the box these Chinese creations came in, bore a warning text saying not to 'copy' the design or an 'investigation' would occur. One star off for that arrogance. These are loose copies of American clips.

saves solder time
i used these to reprogram the Micronics chip on four prefabricated microchips. It worked successfully on 3 out of 4. The most important thing for me is this truly saved me a lot of time and errors with trying to micro solder in these connections. I am happy even with the error, which may have nothing to do with the connectors. Overall a time save. With this product I went through one by one everything ready in about an hour. This takes some tension and the connectors will snap off occasionally. Nothing crazy it just takes steady hands and patience. Its worth it. Recommended and essential for any electronic hobbiest. Helps avoid toxic solder messy flux, and burnt equipment. I wish I had these years ago.

Wish for better color choices
These are excellent. They grab on fine with no modifications necessary. I don't understand reviewers who complain they don't hold on to DIP packages well and give a low rating. That is not the job they are meant to do. They work fine for SMD components. If you need to grab on to DIP packages or thicker wires, buy different grabbers. I just wish they came in 8 colors according to standard color code plus extra black ones for GND connection. That would be very useful with a logic analyzer, which is how I use them.

Extremely fragile
These do work, and they can clip to chips you'd be surprised to be able to hook to. But they're incredibly fragile, so you should expect to break a few just through normal handling.

Very nice clips
Great grip on chips, much better than using other clips that slip off constantly. These donโt care much about pin spacing, or pin size, and a DuPont cable fits perfectly on them. The leads are insulated so you donโt have to worry about shorts when doing something like programming a bios chip on a laptop without disassembly.

Excellent product!
Well worth the price! Excellent clips. I programmed a TQFP32 ATMEL ATMEGA328P out of circuit with ease.
