These suckers are built to last
I can't express enough how impressed I am with my ABUS locks. These locks have proven to be a cut above the rest, and here's why:These locks are built like a fortress. Their robust construction exudes strength and durability. I trust them to keep my belongings safe and secure, no matter the circumstances. The attention to detail in the manufacturing of these locks is evident. Every component feels well-crafted, from the solid body to the precision key mechanism. They're engineered for long-lasting performance. What I love is how these locks seamlessly integrate into my storage latches. They slide in smoothly and snugly, providing an added layer of protection that's incredibly reassuring.ABUS locks have exceeded my expectations. Their sturdiness, exceptional build quality, and ease of use make them a top choice for anyone in need of reliable security. I highly recommend ABUS locks for peace of mind and protection.

Best storage locker lock I have ever seen!
I needed a padlock for my new storage locker - I've seen the videos showing how easy it is to force open typical padlocks in a few seconds, and wanted something better. I chose this one because almost everyplace I looked on the web for "the best storage unit lock" recommended this one. Yes, it costs more than the other brands. But it's stainless steel, including the guts. So rust won't be an issue. This lock is a perfect fit on the storage unit and the hasp is totally covered. I know that no lock is 100% secure, but this should serve as a good deterrent.

Solid security lock
I had purchased an ABUS lock before and needed another lock. The original is still like new and decided to stay with the same brand and model. A great lock at a good price for your security needs. Even my ebike has an ABUS lock for keeping the battery secure! If you need a great lock, this is one to consider.

It works
The lock functions as expected. But the box and lock arrived in pretty rough shape. The box was old, open, and practically destroyed, and the lock shows signs of wear. It would not surprise me if I received a used product. But it does its job.

Harder to pick, well made, better than others, especially in bad weather
Disc detainer lock - used it on my storage unit when moving. Held up well in adverse weather (Alaska rain and snow). Hasn't failed me yet. Better security than the versions using a 'normal' key in my opinion - I've had several of the others fail and some were more expensive.

Well made, High security lock.
One of the best high security locks I've purchased. I chose this one mainly because the lock mechanism is extremely difficult to pick, compared to traditional "pin/tumbler" locks of similar price. Most big box store locks of similar price can be easily picked in 20-30 seconds. The down side is that getting extra keys made is not easy, since making the keys requires a special machine. None of your big box stores will be able to make a key, and many locksmith stores won't have the machine either. You can order a key from the manufacturer if you send them the "key code" that is written on the tag attached to the keys, but I'd expect the key to be pricey and take a while to get. However, 2 keys are included, which is enough for my use "one to use, another as spare".The lock shackle width does somewhat limit the size chain link you can use. I have a 3/8" grade 70 chain, and the shackle is almost completely covered by the 2 links. In a way, covering the shackle makes it harder to cut the lock, so the actual chain becomes the weak point. Hint... buy a good quality hardened chain.Overall, the mechanism is very smooth. The key hole has a thick, rotating plastic cover to keep the weather out of the lock mechanism.

ABUS diskus > Hardware store lock
I love this lock. It has a very satisfying *clunk* to it when you lock and unlock it. It has a good weight to it and feels very well built. I live on Vancouver island and this lock has stood up to the entire rainy winter with zero issues. Since it's a disc detainer lock it's unlikely that your average lock picker will be able to pick it without a specialized tool. ( check out the Lockpickinglawyer on YouTube to see what I mean). I searched long and hard for a good lock and came to the conclusion that you cannot find a decent lock in stores, so I spent the extra and bought this one with confidence for about $55 CAD. Money well spent, much cheaper than replacing the items it's securing. I also like that it looks like your average disc lock, but is a much higher level of security. It's German built and the quality reflects that. Also, never force the key. You'll likely come across the review on YouTube ( or maybe it was Amazon USA?) of the guy that was upset because he broke his key off in the lock.. with disc detainer locks you must rotate the key gently until the discs are in order and you feel the key go all of the way in, it was his fault he broke the key, not the locks fault.

I am indeed very happy with my purchase
Original Abus Diskus padlock received in excellent packaging and at an affordable price of Rs 1,500; it is made in Germany. I am glad that I received a slightly older version of the product, because the older version comes with a hardened steel shackle. The lock is equipped with a highly pick resistant Disk Detainer core made entirely from brass with false gates. I think Indian brands like Godrej, in collaboration with Abus, should fill the market with these reliable locks, instead of the dimple-key locks that can be picked in less than a minute!!

De los mejores candados que he tenido.
Es un candado muy bien construido, robusto y con un tipo de cerradura extremadamente segura. Excelente relación entre calidad y precio.

Sturdy, high-security lock
Like others on here, I bought this on the recommendation of LockPickingLawyer. Unlike others, it came brand new, with the box perfectly intact and no marks or scuffs on the lock or keys. The lock is sturdy and holds up well to pick attacks. If there was a thief in our storage unit, it'd be easier for them to attack the door itself rather than the lock -- or just move on to the unit beside me with a Master lock. Prior to this I did have a Master No40 disc lock, which is beefy but with several vulnerabilities. It's a bit pricy, but the items in our storage unit are much more valuable. 100% worth it.
