With only one touch of a button you turn on the BM18 and make all the settings, like the selection between the wood moisture measurement modes and built-in moisture and temperature in ° C or ° F. For temperature measurements, the instrument displays the current ambient temperature. For moisture measurements you squeeze the measuring pins few millimeters into the material to obtain accurate and fast results. For measurements in dark environments, you simply turn on the backlight. This automatically turns off after 3 seconds. When not in use, the device switches off automatically after 30 seconds to ensure a long battery life. For the wood moisture measurement a calibration device for common European wood species is deposited in the device. Therefore, no further adjustments are necessary for the determination of wood moisture content.
