These bottom seals only last about 4 years in my home. I bought a replacement seal at one of the two big box stores. It was the correct size and it fit ok in the groove but when I opened and closed the door it felt too stiff. The door had to be pushed hard to make the seal jump into place and it was also tough to open the door. I then bought this seal from Amazon because it was specifically advertised as being made of silicone. It was exactly the same size as the stiff seal but this one works perfectly. The door opens and closes smoothly. I suspect the big box seal is made from some other material that is not as flexible. As a tip, it is much easier to fit the seal into the groove and trim it to the correct size if you remove the bottom metal retainer from the shower door. Only two small Philips screws hold it in place on my shower door. Once removed, you have the opportunity to clean it up and it makes installing and trimming the seal extremely easy.

After 10 years in a newly constructed home, the original seal at the bottom of the master bath shower door degraded, became brittle, and began breaking into small chunks. The original material was a gray, rubbery plastic, but since it clearly did not last, I decided to replace it with this one. What a difference this makes! No more water leaks, and since this is so flexible, it is nice to close the door with a softer touch rather than a harsh, hard feel. You need to check your door type. This works for doors with a channel on the bottom frame, as shown in the picture. I tried it in the guest room bathroom and the kids’ bathroom, which have a different design, and it did not work. One roll is enough for two normal-sized doors. For me, four stars means meeting expectations. Five stars are only for products that exceed expectations. So, four stars on this are exactly what the product describes, which is great.

I bought this to replace the old rubber strip on the bottom of my shower door that had basically turned into a science experiment. Installation was pretty straightforward. I just slid the old one off, trimmed this one to size, and pushed it on. Took maybe a few minutes. It does help keep most of the water inside the shower, which is the whole point, so it’s doing its job for the most part. The rubber is flexible enough and the seal is decent. The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is the fit isn’t quite perfect. It works, but it doesn’t hug the glass as tightly as I expected, so every once in a while a little water still sneaks out onto the floor. Not a flood or anything, just not totally leak proof. Overall it’s not bad if you need a quick replacement and don’t want to spend a lot. It works better than the old worn-out one I had, but I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect fix either.

This was a great deal! Had some old strip on our shower that had been there for 5 years. Feel like this helped me get a "new" door and looks great! Very easy to cut and install and will be as durable as needed, since it is not meant to last forever. Very soft and allows the door to close easily.

Use this in the bottom of my shower to keep water off the floor set up you sent a big enough roll that I have some steel left under the cabinet. It works well for what I used it for to keep the water off the floor.

Good seal, a little difficult to install as it is stretchy and can slip out of the track if you pull too hard. Have to ease it in all along the length.

Works well as a shower edge sealant, it has a strong adhesive backing and the material itself is strong yet flexible. I've had it in use for a few months now with no sign of product peeling away from the glass or plastic surrounds. Worth the money when doing sealant work that needs a bit of flexibility.

Sure beats buying a new shower door!
