Very cool stuff, mind you don't spill it though!
The fluid comes with two small screwtop plastic containers, along with a standard plastic petri dish and pipette. For the best effect I would advise putting a small amount in the petri dish, barely enough to cover the surface, and approach with a magnet from below. Be very careful, as a strong magnet from the side can easily cause the fluid to fly over the edge out of the petri dish! Be extra careful, since the fluid stains most materials, and can be difficult to wash out. The effect from a magnet is very interesting to look at. The volumes required are very small so this amount could be used to amuse quite a few people.

Great fun!
Great fun, just make sure you buy a neodymium magnet (a small one ~ 2cmx1cm will do) as this gets the best results due to the stronger magnetic field. Can play with making shapes in the petri dish or put the ferrofluid in water (videos online) and see what happens then. Loads of opportunities to have fun with physics, just make sure to keep it in the containers as it stains everything.

Product is good but packaging is suspect.
Product was still in working order thankfully but due to it being packaged in a simple sealable poly pocket; inside a small cardboard box, one of the vials had a hairline crack all the way down it. Luckily it wasn’t leaking but was very close. Please be aware if ordering.

Very interesting liquid that's completely worth it.
Bought it as a part of some research in to materials. Definitely worth the money spent for something that is so responsive. Its a little bit messy, I managed to get a tiny bit on my hands even though the liquid was in a closed jar (no clue how). Bought a £5 Neodymium magnet along with it and it definitely did the job. 20ml is actually a lot. 10ml would easily be enough to play around with. Ridiculous value for money! Arrived well packaged and in good time. Make sure to read instructions before using.

Great but messy
Bought this for my science keen 7 year old. He loves it! But it DEFINITELY needs supervision, it's messy!! I learned that the hard way..

Such a disappointment. It does do some things but not much ...
Bought for 11 year old science mad son. Such a disappointment. It does do some things but not much - and is so so messy. Stains clothes/furniture. Sorry but cannot recommend. Son was really disappointed after saving up pocket money and buying this.

Great fun but can be messy.
Does exactly what it says. Be careful it can be a bit messy so use it somewhere you aren't overly bothered about if you spill it as it will be nigh on impossible to clear up. If using for macro photography the results you get will depend on your lens / sensor size. I have a camera with APS-C sensor and a 60mm macro lens which gives an ok result for A4 size images but not really good for anything larger even after using all the tools in Lightroom and Photoshop to try and sharpen images. Overall get some (and some magnets and spare petri dishes) and have fun with it. Watch some of the videos on youtube to get some creative ideas.

Don’t recommend
It’s really fun but to to expensive for what your getting and it also is extremely hard to clean I still have stains on my table but if you will buy it please be careful and don’t let it get all over your face like I did.

Not as good as I’d hoped for the price.
Overpriced. As a toy, they do their job.

Amazing stuff when you get it to work.
This stuff is so awesome. It took a couple tries to get a suspension fluid that worked, but when it did it was pure magic. For anyone wondering, I bought a square shaped vinegar bottle, and rinsed with with distilled water. I filled the bottle with distilled water and added kosher salt until the salt no longer dissolved. I dumped some out and added distilled water to get the last of the salt dissolved. I let that sit for a day, and then added the ferrofluid with a pipette an inch below the surface of the mixture and used a strong 1" cube rare earth magnet to pull the ferrofluid to the side of the glass. The salt water makes the ferrofluid want to dance and float everywhere so the magnet helps to grab it as it comes out of the pipette. I wiped any excess off the top with a paper towel and then topped off with the same saturated salt solution. That was pretty much it! Good luck! P.S. If it does stick to the glass the ferrofluid isn't wasted. Simply hold it in place at the bottom with a magnet and dump out the container. I did a couple distilled water rinses while holding the ferrofluid in place and then used a new pipette to transfer it to the next container.
