Does it deter hares from eat flowers

Don't know about hares, but I know rats, foxes and mice can't stand the smell

I presume Mrs P meant rodents / mice ,voles ,shrews etc....answer ,I don't know !They have not eaten any of my bars yet & they are all abundant in & around my house.I purchased some bars to hang in the garden to deter muntjac & roe deer from eating plants .No conclusive proof yet ,but no damaged plants either.
