Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract 1 Litre

I already use the Nielsen Massey vanilla extract but the 118ml size. This makes all my baked goods smell fantastic and taste so yummy. Was ecstatic when I found it in this size and at a ridiculous price on here and even signed up to subscribe and save for this but gutted when Amazon cancelled it because it was no longer available but will still buy at the RRP because it works out cheaper and also has a long shelf life. True what others have said about the slight mess when pouring but still a 5 star for me as its a fantastic product.

Great product as used and recommended by a majority of bakers. Great 'bulk' size bottle and best price at time of purchase (£15.01 inc delivery). Only downside is that the bottle has a wide neck making it impossible to measure a teaspoon full without getting the extract everywhere thus wasting helluva lot. Think I will have to buy a pipette or something for future use.

This is the best value extract on the market. Top quality, excellent flavour, perfect results. I am an avid baker and cook and I use only Nielsen-Massey as the others seem inferior by comparison. It's currently off the market on Amazon for some reason.... COME ON AMAZON BRING IT BACK I'M RUNNING OUT!!!!!

I had read, but dismissed the 1 Star review below when deciding to purchase this as almost all vanilla extracts use alcohol to extract the aromatics, and i have used Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract for years.I have always previously purchased the small 118ml bottles and found it to be excellent.However when this Nielsen-Massey Vanilla Extract 1 Litre arrived it listed Ethanol in the ingredients as opposed to the Alcohol which is listed on the smaller bottles (and in the listing above). I didn't actually notice this until checking the bottle after attempting to use it in my coffee, and being shocked by the flavour.I actually got one of the 118ml bottles to do a side by side comparison. Tasted plain the only flavour from the 1 Litre bottle was Ethanol, whereas the 118ml bottle (while still having an Alcohol tang) was much milder and actually tasted of vanilla. they were even visually different, with the 1L being very clear, slightly translucent brown & the 118ml being slightly cloudy and darker. I tested by mixing 2.5ml of vanilla with 125ml whole milk. the 118ml vanilla had a subtle sweet vanilla flavour and the alcohol tang had vanished, the 1L did not really taste of vanilla at all, but the Ethanol flavour was still noticeable. Amazon have refunded me, but don't want the product returned, so i have stuffed the bottle full of 25 split, extract grade pods, in the hope of salvaging something from it.It may be suitable when used in something cooked, and there may be some people who are receiving the good quality stuff (maybe some suppliers have different stock? mine came from amazon prime), but what i received was not acceptable.

Love this brand of vanilla, but in supermarkets it's been getting more and more expensive whilst the bottle size has got smaller, so when a friend spotted this on sale at a good price several of us all purchased it. Great value (I think I paid £21 for the litre bottle), so it should last a long time. I'm going to decant some into the 2 smaller bottles I have to make it easier to pour.

I'm a baker and use a ton of vanilla. Due to the poor crops a couple of years ago the prices have shot up, so when someone showed me this for £20 odd I decided to give it a try.The bottles I received are exactly the same as the stuff I've bought in the shops, or are an extremely convincing fake. Either way it is the same strength, aroma and taste as the ones from the supermarket.Either I'm lucky to have got good ones or the people who have dodgy bottles are unlucky. If it's on again at that sort of price though its worth a try as I'm sure Amazon will refund if it's not right.

Value for money for any baker!!!
