Super Ninja Fungus Gnat killer for Indoor Plants, Natural Shape, 30 Traps

Update 1 month later - no gnats and healthy growth! See picture below I almost lost the battle with gnats! Every time I watered my plant, a cloud of gnats flew from the soil. These work very well and are so so sticky ! There are lots in a pack which make it great value for money. There is a peel off backing on both sides. Easy to place into the soil and has done a great job at catching gnats. After a week of use, I’ve used 3 and less and less have appeared each day. I think I’m finally getting on top of it. One thing to note, this catches the adult gnats or bugs, and don’t do anything for the eggs in the soil. These just interrupts the life cycle by preventing more gnats laying eggs. The design is lovely, and not an eyesore - size is appropriate too for indoor plants. If you’re on the fence, I would say these are a plant lifesaver for any bugs.

These seem to be great value for the money, super effective too, theres no odour at all, says its safe for kids and animals, but be careful when you put them in your soil, they are super sticky and are likely to stick to you! of your plant... I find it best to peel 90% of the backing off first, then put them in the soil, then peel off the remaining 10% 10/10!

'Fliers' tend to stay stuck on the trap/s, in my experience so far. However, any eggs in the soil or compost will need dealing with by separate means, e.g. food-grade diatomaceous earth (n.b. loses effectiveness when wet, so we water the indoor plants via the base tray and deny any emergent pests any moisture at the top). ooOoo Measuring around 11 cm (tallest) x 6 cm (widest), these odourless sticky 'Fungus Gnat' traps are smaller than I have had in the past, so are less noticeable dotted around but just as sticky to catch and keep the fliers. Full instructions are included with the product and are currently in the product detail/stock images above. Speaking from experience, I would recommend positioning the bright yellow flower-shaped trap by positioning the ‘stem’ in the soil or compost then peeling away the sticker either side of the ‘head’. Good price for this sort of product at the time of order for a 12.5 cm x 7 cm x 1.5 cm cardboard pack of 10 that is easy to store for another day (hopefully not!). - ‘These traps last for up to 3 months and are made of 100% recycled plastic.’

These are brilliant for those pesky little flies that lay their eggs in the soil of your houseplants. Stops the cycle. Tip- only half remove the paper (covering the sticky bit) so easier to handle when positioning in pot. Once in position it’s then easier to remove completely.

I have bought these in the past and they have worked really well but the last batch were not sticky enough and watched gnats walk across them, I sent a message, great customer service and they sent another batch but still had the same problem. They used to be so sticky it was hard to put them in the pot. It’s a shame as won’t buy again

I experienced a fruit fly problem after repotting all of my Aloes in newly purchased potting medium. I was tempted to throw all houseplants away as it was so horrible to have so many flies. As a last desperate attempt i bought these along with some granules to put on the surface of the compost. These flowers are really easy to stick in your plant pots and they start to collect flies immediately (unlike fly strips I'd previously bought). You get lots in the box, so you cam replace as often as needed. I dont know how effective they would be alone. They certainly catch the flies, but if you still have more breeding, the problem would still keep coming back. I definitely recommend using these though, perhaps alongside a soil treatment.

No soy partidaria de este tipo de trampas ya que me parece muy cruel. Me he visto obligada a probar con este producto ya que tenía una plaga en casa imposible de eliminar, incluido usando tierra de diatomeas, cambiando el sustrato hasta cinco veces a la misma planta, separando las macetas.... Es mas, creo que le pasé la plaga a una vecina dos pisos por debajo de mi casa!!! Teniendo en cuenta que tengo animales domésticos, tenia que elegir algo que fuera inocuo para ellos, así que me decidí a probar estos adhesivos. Mientras los colocaba en diferentes macetas, al mover un poco la tierra para clavarlos, ya se iban pegando las mosquitas, cosa que me indicaba que ya cumple su propósito . Aun es pronto para valorar la eficacia en general ya que los puse recién recibidos, pero ver que en menos de dos minutos ya había como 15 mosquitas pegadas me da un poco de esperanza de poder acabar con la plaga. Cada hembra adulta pone hasta 100 huevos en cada puesta, y hacen varias a lo largo de su vida. Consejo: si los ves en tu casa, corta cuanto antes, cuanto mas esperas peor es eliminar el problema, yo por no atacar directamente con este método mas efectivo, tengo la casa llena....

Nach dem ersten Tag war ich gar nicht überzeugt, im Gegenteil. Obwohl wir einen heftigen Befall mehrerer Blumentöpfe mit Trauermücken hatten und ich mehrere der gelben Ninja-Karten direkt in die Blumenerde verschiedener Töpfe steckte, verirrte sich eine einzige (eine!) der Fliegen auf eine Karte. Wir haben bis dato den alten Trick mit der Apfelsaft/Essig/Spülmittel-Mischung in Untertellern verwendet. Das hat funktioniert, ist aber nicht besonders appetitlich und man muss Apfelsaft im Haus haben. Im Laufe des zweiten Tages, klebten dann plötzlich viele der Mücken auf den Ninja-Tafeln. Und mittlerweile habe ich die Tafeln häufiger ausgetauscht, weil sie voller Fliegen waren. Ich vermute, dass die Trauermücken nicht immer, sondern in einem bestimmten Entwicklungsstadium auf die gelben Tafeln fliegen. Das Handling der Tafeln ist sehr einfach und problemlos. Wenn sie etwas dicker wären, ließen sie sich einfacher in die Erde stecken, andererseits wäre das am Ende mehr Plastikmüll und die Packung wäre dicker. Also ist die Stärke ein Kompromiss, der in Ordnung ist. Das Entsorgen ist ebenfalls sehr einfach, ich verwende Papier-Küchentücher, um die vollen Tafeln anzufassen und aus der Erde zu ziehen. Je nach Befall muss man geduldig sein und regelmäßig die Tafeln austauschen. Aber langfristig helfen sie. Der Vorteil im Gegensatz zu den oben erwähnten Fallen mit Apfelsaft und Essig ist das Handling und absolut kein Geruch. Außerdem kann es passieren, dass man versehentlich eine flüssige Falle umstößt, die Ninja-Fallen sind sicher. Also von mir eine klare Empfehlung. Wie gesagt, nicht wundern, wenn an den ersten ein oder zwei Tagen keine Trauermücke gefangen wurde.

These super sticky Gnat killers are fantastic!! They took about a week before the little tykes started venturing out & getting stuck. I now have them in all my pot plants. Will be buying more! I like the yellow colour variety so you can easily see the gnats that have been caught.
