The vest works really well by itself or under my jacket. I didn't need to buy another battery bank. It works with the one I already have. The three heat settings all work. Blue gets barely warm. I use this if I'm layering. Green, the next highest gets noticeably toasty and red gets hot.Just remember that the battery drains the fastest on higher settings. The length of time that the vest will heat depends on the amp hours of your battery and the heat setting. This is the way of anything that uses batteries. It's not specific to this vest.I love the vest. It fits well. The pockets are zippered and it has a lightweight puffy jacket feel and the price was good. The only thing I can say negative about it is that it seems to heat a small amount even after the switch is off. I've started unplugging the battery to fully stop any possible drain. But, I love it enough to consider purchasing one as a gift for my daughter.

I ordered a Large for a looser fit because that’s what I prefer. I tried on my mom’s Small and it was a snug fit and the heat experience was COMPLETELY different. With a loose fit I can’t feel the heat at all. With a snug fit I can absolutely feel the heat. The wires need to be against the body to feel the heat. When this is the case, the heat output is impressive. Having heat at the back of the neck is a great feature.The vest is super lightweight and comfortable with some puff but no bulk. Without the battery I forget I’m wearing it. Even without the heat, the vest adds some warmth and is nice for fall and winter days. The material is really easy to wipe clean with a washcloth and the zippers work very smoothly.I appreciate that the operation light can be turned off while keeping the heat pumping because the light is really bright. This has been great for night hikes but while at home the light is annoying to me.A few frustrations: there are two pockets at the hips and the battery sits in one of them. I’d much prefer the battery has its own pocket inside. It’s a little awkward to have my hand or stuff in the pocket with the battery in there too. The battery is a bit bulky but you get used to the extra weight.The battery is SUPER SLOW CHARGING. It takes a solid 7+ hours for it to fully charge so it’s helpful to have multiple batteries so you can still get heat while waiting for the other battery to charge. On high the battery lasts a few hours and on low can last a good chunk of the day.A battery should come with the vest, just increase the cost. Just my opinion obviously but I was ordering the vest specifically for the heat option and so it’s be fantastic to have a compatible battery included.Overall, with a snug fit (critical detail), the heat is impressive and the quality and performance is good. With the frustrations mentioned above, I’d still recommend!

Everything is amazing, it’s thin and not bulky, warm, you can control the temp where ever you want. I have a Milwaukee jacket and the power source is in the back so you’re sitting on it when sitting down. This vest it’s in the front pocket so it’s more convenient.

For winter and could fit my big hips.
