She's 7 and she loves you can change the colors on the handles. You will have to adjust the length of the rope for kids though. It's very easy but make sure to keep track of all the beads that you take off. There is a little plastic piece that prevents the rope from sliding out. Once you get it off you can remove the beads till you get a good length for you child. I just tied another knot verses trying to put on the little hook stopper.
