Excellent kit, good value for money.
Excellent kit, good value for money. No instructions but was fairly easy to install. I can now run 3 TV's with a perfect picture off an old aerial that used to run just 1 TV and a picture that would break up regularly when the atmospheric conditions were bad. I fixed mine in the loft as I have a power supply up there, but you can connect the PSU behind your TV. First of all connect the PSU outlet to some TV cable and then connect it to one of the 4 outlets from the amp, when the PSU is plugged in it boosts power to the amp and down the other 3 TV connections, so effectively it gives you the facility to run cables to 3 TV's from the 4 outlets. The cable from your aerial connects to the inlet of the amp. There are no "F" connections supplied so you will need to buy a pack of at least 8. Two for the aerial cable and four for the TV outlets and two for the PSU. If you don't know how to fit the"F" connectors just youtube it like I did. At first I didn't have a clue how to install this kit but after looking at the reviews I was able to do it and saved myself a couple of hundred quid in the process, so thanks for the reviews guys.

Works well but you may well need more pieces.
I had an old analogue aerial mounted low on the eaves and a Maxview 6 way splitter in the loft. All worked well and we received all the freeview channels and HD. Due to an extension being built we had to move the aerial up to the chimney and we took the opportunity to upgrade to a 4G digital aerial. Unfortunately the move took the aerial line of sight into a dense tree line and we lost a lot of channels including the HD ones. The aerial fitter said the existing Maxview booster did not have a high enough gain and he tried a Wolsey WFAV 425 which seemed to cure the problem. However he wanted a further ยฃ68 for this amplifier and I had seen it on Amazon for ยฃ18 so I politely declined and bought it myself. As other reviewers have identified, this does not come with any leads or F connectors so it was not a straight forward swap. There were also no instructions supplied but I expected this after reading the other reviews. The old Maxview splitter was aerial in with a coax connector and 6 coax outputs, the PSU was integrated. With the Wolsey set up the PSU is separate and splits one of the outputs so the PSU can be mounted anywhere between the TV and and the amplifier. It then powers the other 3 outputs via the amplifier. However this means that you will need an extra cable for the one that is split. Also all connections are F type so if you have coax connectors you will either need to replace the connectors with F type or do as I did and use convertors (there a potentially 7 connections to convert if all 4 outputs are used). Another minor point is that while the PSU comes supplied with two fixing screws the amplifier does not. Once I had placed a further order for the missing parts I fitted the unit in the loft with the PSU adjacent to the the amplifier and everything worked first time (I did not have to adjust the gain as other reviewers had). I split the cable going to the furthest and most basic TV and this now has 95-100% signal on all channels which it never had before. Our main TV has now regained the lost HD channels. I would give this unit 5 starts if it came with instructions, a spare lead, enough fixing screws and possible convertor connectors. However it has a well deserved 4 stars for doing what it does at such a reasonable price.

Simple and easy
Exactly the same thing we had before, just plug them in and my tv signal is back as before. No need to have electricity socket in the loft

some minor issues
Ok firstly the product is very good for the money. However... No instructions - thank god for YouTube. I was quoted ยฃ222 by a TV installer to replace a cheaper amp in my loft for this piece of kit. Fortunately he wrote me a quote and listed what parts he would fit so having saved myself ยฃ200 I'm happy with the produce. You will need F type connectors (not supplied) and some minor understanding of cabling TV Aerials and TVs. Apart from that it would have been a 5 star. OBTW searching for Wolsey and their amp didn't turn up anything useful.

Excellent gizmo at any price
I replaced my old CRT TV, which blew up spectacularly last year, by an LED with Freeview, not expecting much from the digital channels. In fact all the channels were good apart from Dave, which I watch as much as anything. So I decided I also should replace my 30-year old (outdoor) aerial by a high-gain (16.5db) digital aerial, on a taller mast, with all new digital-standard cabling. Result - much worse! My signal-finder showed that the output at the aerial was indeed lower than from my rusty old analogue aerial, but having destroyed that when removing it I was beyond the point of no return. Research suggested that a mast-head amp was needed - and the Wolsey (aka Triax) works a treat. For convenience I mounted the amp on the house wall some 5 metres below the aerial (not literally at the mast head) and that was fine, boosting the signal to full strength with the PSU rigged up next to it. However the PSU's final resting place is indoors with 30 metres of cable between it and the amp. This brings the signal strength down to 75% (worth noting). I now have an excellent Dave picture, but bizarrely lost some of the higher-numbered channels (Quest, 5+, 5USA). I guess I need to find a way of locating the PSU closer to the amp (I will be using two of the other outputs) - unless anybody knows of another reason why some channels improve while others disappear.

Waste of money, no longer using it
Arrived today, about 5 days after ordering it. No instructions or F connectors, now it says that on the description but one of the reviews states that they got 7 f connectors, so I didn't order any, Im not sure if I have any if not theres going to be a weeks delay while I get some sent to me. Also all of these connectors are F connectors, my existing set up is not F connectors just the push in sort so I have to rewire my whole system. Good job I ordered 100m of cable ages ago and happen to still have it. If I had realised this I wouldn't have purchased it. Looking at 10minutes to an hour to install it once I figure out the best way to do it. Im considering installing the amplifier on the landing and spuring off from there as the cables are internal I prefer not to have cables from the attic. Looking on the internet the general opionion is these masthead amps are no better than the plug in booster so Im going to stick with what I have got. I emailed the company to ask about returning it and they didn't reply. So I purchased some F connector / coax adapters and managed to fit the item with minimal fuss, on using the signal detector it made no difference at all, only when i connected a normal signal booster did it go up to full power, however I still cannot get the HD channels I was expecting to be able to receieve. Disapointed but hopefully should be able to connect the other 2 tvs through this simply and not get so much signal break up. Time will tell I guess UPDATE - Was getting patchy reception on DAVE, VIVA, FourFilms and a few other channels, I actually unplugged the cable and connected it back to the old aerial on the roof and the signal was better. Complete waste of time and money - aviod

Bob picture
Bought one of these and fitted it myself after being quoted ยฃ135 by an aerial fitter for a 1 hour job. He wanted to use the aerial I had already (digital) and most of the existing cable I had in place for the 2 TV's working off it. Theses 2 TV's though had continous picture break up and i was continually "twiddling" with the connectors etc to get a good picture, added to this the constant "dad the pictures gone funny" made it very tiresome. My ladders would'nt reach safely to the aerial pole as recommended so I tapped into the existing cable and fitted the amplifier just under the gutter "eves"? on the wall (Protects it from the weather as well). Connected all new cabling after this with screw on connectors, both TV's now working with perfect pictures. Tip - the aerial guy did say these little plug in boosters behind a tv are not much use at all. Info - The amplifier has a power box which you can plug into any room where one of the aerial leads go, this sends power up the aerial cable to the main box and out to the other cables/tv's. it took me a while to find this out.

Wolsey WFAV 425 Masthead amplifier
I installed the amplifier a few weeks ago and I am delighted with it. I am in a weak signal area for receiving Freeview, and I was installing the aerial in the loft. A new wide-band aerial proved inadequate for receiving all the available channels. Wolsey was one of the more reasonably priced products which came with variable amplification. I have so far cabled up 3 of the 4 outputs and the reception is good from all of them. The single amplification control is currently set at the maximum and although the output cable lengths are different, I have not noted any difference in picture quality from any of them. I must say I had expected one amplification control per output, but in practice that has not proved necessary and I have not had to resort to attenuators.
