Solid, Reliable, and Surprisingly Easy to Work With
I’ve been running the Polymaker Fiberon ASA‑CF08 Black Carbon Fiber filament for a bit now, and it’s been a pleasant surprise. For a carbon‑fiber blend, the price is honestly one of the first things that stands out. It doesn’t feel like you’re paying a premium just for the label, yet the material performs like something in a higher tier. Printing with it has been straightforward. It feeds consistently, doesn’t fight you on bed adhesion, and the surface finish comes out clean with that subtle carbon‑fiber texture that looks great right off the printer. I haven’t had to babysit prints or constantly tweak settings, which is refreshing. As for downsides, I haven’t run into any yet. No clogging, no weird warping, no brittle behavior. So far it’s been reliable across multiple prints. If anything changes as I keep using it, I’ll update my thoughts, but right now it’s been a solid, hassle‑free filament at a really reasonable cost.

Phenomenal Filament
Phenomenal filament. Print on my Prusa Core One on a Biqu CryoGrip plate. I very much understand other users’ complaints on brittleness. I have controlled this in two ways: pre-dry filament (standard for all high performance filaments) and created a custom filament profile to limit retraction when loading filament. Otherwise, prints smooth and the ability to separate supports is effortless. Recommend against using for any thin builds with less than 2-3 layers total thickness. Need more thickness to really take advantage of the filament strength. Tried something like a phone case, and tends to be too brittle for the layers to bind well.

Brittle but good
This was hard to print with, I drilled a top angled outfeed hole from my dryer and it printed great. Printing from the stock 45 degree hole cause it to snap. I prefer the high carbon fiber ratio of this filament, its very strong.

Like the filament, can’t stand the 500g roll, I am done buying this product, we need 1kg rolls.

Hundreds of Parts Sold, This Filament Has Proven Itself
I’ve put this ASA carbon fiber filament through a lot of real-world use, and it has become one of my go-to materials for both production parts and engineering prototypes. I use this filament to manufacture motorcycle turn signal housings that I sell commercially, and I’ve sold hundreds of sets made from it. These parts are exposed to outdoor conditions, heat, vibration, road debris, and regular use, and the material has held up extremely well. It is impressively strong and durable, especially for parts that need to survive outside rather than simply look good on a shelf. The finish is another major advantage. It has a clean, professional appearance with very little sheen, and the carbon fiber gives the finished parts a nice texture that helps hide layer lines. The result looks much more like a finished product than a typical 3D-printed part. I’m an engineer and also use this filament regularly for prototyping engineered components. For example, I’ve used it for mockups and prototypes of engine-related components such as cold air intake parts, housings, brackets, and similar external components. To be clear, I’m not talking about internal engine components or anything subjected to combustion or extreme internal engine temperatures. For the appropriate applications, though, ASA-CF is an extremely useful prototyping material. After printing a large amount of this filament and having hundreds of production parts out in the real world, I’ve been very impressed with its consistency, strength, durability, and appearance. It has proven itself well beyond basic test prints and prototypes, and I’ll continue using it for parts where ASA-CF makes sense.

Very brittle - hard to use consistently
As others mentioned, it’s super brittle so feeding must be done very carefully. The prints came out nice if the filament didn’t break before it got to the hot end. Hard to recommend this though. I won’t be buying it again.

High quality. Poor quantity.
Happy with the quality of the filament. However, it's absurd they don't sell 1KG rolls and that's going to drive me to find another brand. The 3KG rolls do not fit in a Bambu Labs AMS so you're out of luck if you want to use this stuff for any kind of mass production using Bambu hardware.

Mala experiencia
(Había dejado una reseña negativa pensando que el rollo era viejo. Resulta que simplemente es un material difícil de imprimir) Edit: me retracto, error de usuario. Si bien sostengo que el perfil de impresión del fabricante necesita ajustes, tras investigar más entendi que este material requiere un ambiente MUY caliente. Esto es para que las capas de fusionen bien. Por lo tanto calenté la cámara de impresión a 60°, subí la temperatura de impresión a 280 (máximo recomendado) y ajuste la velocidad de impresión para que fuera más rápida. Lamentablemente esto no le gusto a mi impresora. Esto hizo que se atorara el filamento en el extrusor. Sin embargo, lo que logré imprimir muestra resultados cercanos a los esperados. Antes de seguir probando, eperaré a que llegue un hot end trianglelab, una punta de diamante y extrusor phaetus que ordené para empezar a probar con estos materiales. Espero estás mejoras me faciliten las impresiones. La imagen de la impresión rota es con la cámara a "baja" temperatura. Las otra imagen es con la cámara a 60°. Estás ya son bastante resistentes.

Good finish and easy to print
Amazing finish and printed really well. The only challenge is the filament itself is quite fragile. The filament has broken at the extruder a couple of times, so had to remove the fragments.
