So glad I bought these
2 days into using my NHS crutches, the heel part of my palms had got bone ache and now a week later my hands were very sore. I didn't want a sleeve cover for grip, I wanted a gel cushion to relieve the pressure on my hands and so glad I spent a bit more to buy these pads. The comfort gel is about 1cm thick and firm/springy. 4 hours after using these covers, the pain is going in my hands. The new hospital crutch handles are more rounded/rectangular instead of cylindrical, I'm therefore chuffed these covers fit the new style crutches. The velcro is very strong, so if you do them up nice and tight they don't budge. The gel inserts can be taken out to wash the covers, but you'd struggle to get them back in, it's a tight channel, so I'll hand-wash them. They're a bit more than I wanted to spend, but once I saw what was out there, I knew these were the best ones to get. They're very good quality with very neat stitching and would buy these again.

Excellent, but confusing and confounding.
Soooooo, I received these today, shipped very fast which was lovely, thank you very much, and upon opening the packet i immediately reaised that these are quite a lot hook and loop stuff and a strip of cushioning, but the way these are packed the hook and loop is all neatly stuck together and it isn't apparent where the straps start and end. It took me a full ten minutes just to figure out what was strap and what was not. However, once I'd figured that out the nightmare began, these are not simple or easy to attach, the hook and loop is constantly attaching to itself as you need to pass one part through another, I would call this the work of a devil but clearly the designer had the best intentions, just not the forethought that these would used by less able people. So after much cursing and fiddling I have got the things attached and in position, they look good and they work as intended, I did not need the mental and physical workout to get to this point though. So, word of warning to potential purchasers with different abilities, - you will need someone strong of arm and capable of fingers to attach these to your stick/cane/crutches. Possibly someone who really enjoyed the Krypton Factor or Crystal Maze game shows. They work though, the gel padding is excellent and the straps on this product are good and strong. I've done a quick wander on my crutches and found this product helps reduce the strain and pressure on my thumbs. It's not a perfect product but it's a decent one.

Saved my hands.
These were a life saver , my poor hands ,skin was going shiney on palms and felt very bruised ( will be on crutches for a year ) so had to buy these, even tho I thought expensive and the reviews were not that positive. ..... These were fiddly to get on , please read the instructions. You need to strap them tight, ask some one with strong fingers ! To help. So comfortable. But they can be annoying when they twist slightly, but what doesn't move ? Just twist them back. They haven't twisted like people have been saying, (If they keep on twisting then they are not on tight enough ), Mine are nhs crutches, and they don't go right to front of Handle ,but your hand doesn't go there any way. Have washed them cold soapy water in sink. They do shrink slightly and you have to struggle to get them on tight, but they do relax. Gel/padding still as new. Would buy again for the sake of my hands. 🤗

Using crutches? Get these before your palms hurt!
Fitted into nhs style crutches . I’m a 5.11 male and these really did the trick . I’d used the crutches for about a week (non weight bearing cast)and palms were becoming really painful to the point think were going to split or blister . I ordered these ‘express’ which came next day via Royal Mail and just in time . Very secure (I have to get on/off trains and staircases for commute) and very comfy padding - maybe a little too ‘fat’ initially (seem to contain a gel type material sometimes see on bike saddles) when having to hold grip and 2nd crutch in one hand using stairs/banister) but do give a little bit which has improved . Have not had to adjust fit since installation and I’m now into third week of use daily use (4-6more weeks to go!). My bro picked up the very same injury too and recommend to him and would recommend again . Hopefully they see out this injury and can see no sign of wear so far

Great product !!
These were great for my crutches they took a lot of the pressure and pain off my hands from using them all day long. So easy to put on and looked great and they were thick enough to stop me getting blisters on my hands but didn’t move keeping me supported.

The difference is night & day!
Broke my ankle in 3 places and upon leaving hospital post-op, given my first ever set of crutches. Found out only too soon how much pressure is exerted on the palms of my hands; took a punt on this on the back of the reviews here and I can confirm that they fit snuggly (if not a bit fiddly as others have mentioned) and have made life far more bearable when up and about on crutches. Very comfortable on the palms and that in itself helps stave off fatigue and discomfort. Once installed, they do their job and do it well. Bit pricey in my opinion for what they are is the only negative.

Top crutch grip worth buying
When fitted to the crutches there is no slippage designed so it stays in place. Good thick gel padding that brought great relief to my palms. I thought when I opened it that the product probably wouldn't provide comfort, I am happy to say that I was proved wrong. They might look small but they are delightfully deceptive and cover crutch handle perfect. Would definitely recommend anyone seeking a product for crutch handles to buy this product. I no longer squirm when I push down and my palms already feel better

Why didn't I buy this sooner?
These crutch grip pads have almost been a life saver for me - well certainly a hand saver! I've been on crutches, full time, for around 15 months now, using them to take my full weight. My poor hands have been suffering and got even worse with the warm weather - the blisters!!!! I FINALLY discovered these, after trying to make do with tubigrip over my palms (ok ish but not really the perfect solution!) and I can't tell you the difference it's made to me. They are so comfy and really easy to put onto my crutches. It has just the right amount of padding and "bounce", it's soft on my hands and my hands don't slip. The only slight thing I've found is sometimes when I use my crutches for longer periods of time, my hands start to feel a little bit crampy, which I've put down to the fact the handles are slightly wider than they were without the grip pads, but I think that once I'm more used to them this should stop. Also I found I needed to tighten the velcro after having them for a few days but I think I may just have been overly cautious when putting them on the first time. I can't recommend these enough - if only I'd had them months ago I could have saved my poor calloused and blistered palms!

Did not do it for me
Not for me. Made my hand hurt even more then before using it. Made it hard to get the right hight setting on crutches afterwards as it made the handle much higher.
