Good product and prompt delivery
this was ordered on Tuesday and arrived Thursday, it arrived in a bundle securely banded with the ends protected with cling film, being timber it's not practical for it to be boxed or wrapped, the packet of screws were inside the wrapping.I unwrapped it on arrival to let it dry out and found no damage to the wood, there are no instructions but you only need to look at a picture of it to work out how it goes together. All in all well pleased with the product and delivery, will buy again when I am ready for another one.

Good Solid Bin
As a very experienced gardener I reckon this is the best commercial compost bin I have seen.* The wood is thick enough - too many bins are flimsy and rot through within a couple of years. These are proper thick planks.* It is easy to assemble. Two bins took me half an hour each (would have been faster but it was in an awkward space).* It is large enough (the extra-large size). Most bins are far too small.* The spaces between slats mean a lot of air will get in. This will mean getting a decent temperature to kill weed seedlings will be hard (hence 4 not 5 stars), but it does mean the compost is unlikely to get too wet and anaerobic.* The price is very reasonable compared to most bins. The wood and time to make one from scratch would cost almost as much.Instructions are included and worth reading through before you start but it is easy enough. You need a drill, because for some reason the side supports are not pre-drilled for the screws. A hammer or mallet is also useful because the joints are a tight fit.Other reviews have complained the wood was wet but both my packs were well wrapped and perfectly dry.I've put mine on breeze-blocks because having the wood in direct contact with the ground would make it rot faster. The flat base also makes assembly much easier.

It works
The good: I have several compost bins, including hot bins and rotary bins. This one despite its simplicity has worked very well, it is quite large and it has produced compost quickly. This is the second one I've bought and I have no doubt it'll function just as well as the first one.The bad: it has become the norm nowadays that when you order something, you end up spending too much time poring over illegible instructions trying to assemble a product with bags of nuts and bolts. In this case they haven't even bothered, there are no instructions, nor have they included the screws you need (30 or so 30mm screws). Assembling is not difficult but it'll take about an hour if you include the time needed to find some photos or a video.Overall 3 stars, 5 for the product, 0 for the assembly and not including screws.

Excellent product - though let down by poor packaging and a few slightly damaged components.
Well designed and attractive (for a compost bin!). Slots together reasonably easily using a mallet and cross head screwdriver using well written instructions. I will be buying another couple of these. Note that the instructions are not included with the delivered product - you need to download these as a pdf separately.Minus half a star for terrible packaging (the 30-or-so separate timbers had come apart in transit, meaning the poor driver arrived at my door with what looked like a huge pile of loose firewood and a ripped open bag of screws). Minus another half star as several of the front timbers has cracked or damaged ends - though this doesn't really impact on them in use.

Good composter but no screws or instructions, so read mine
I've just assembled this in the rain after someone bought it for the garden. Looks a sensible composter with open to air vents making it more effective and lighter. Rough cut treated wood (use gloves to avoid splinters) which will last and be easy to replace. A few edges broken off but doesn't affect the structure. Delivered in a bundle with no instructions but you can work it out from the video and I'll explain here. It's not difficult. You'll need a minimum of 14 30mm x 4mm decking/outdoor screws and something to space the shelves consistently while screwing down the 2 side supports. I used 5 lolipop sticks laid flat on top of each other.First, lay down the narrow short sides, slots up, as the short sides of a rectangle, Then lay a narrow long at the frontp slotted into the sides. Take a wide long and slot into the back of the sides. The second narrow long will complete the back at the end of the build. Lay two wide shorts on either side, slotted in at the back and lying free at the front with the slanted slot facing upwards. Put a wide long into the slanted slot and you'll see how its going to work. Now, the gap at the back below the wide short needs to be repeated at the front. Fit your spacers into the gap at the back to work out what height you'll need then move them to the front below the wide short. There are two unslotted short planks. These are the side supports. Place them outside, vertical, and forward, close to the edge of the slanted wide long, and screw them into the bottom and top side lengths. This fixes the gap at the front and your side will be horizontal. Now reoeat the process until you've used all the wide pieces and the last wide should rest beautifully flush with the top of the side support. Close off the rear slots with the last narrow long. That's it. If you want to move it around then consider another set of screws at the back but take care not to split the wood.

A few downsides but not all bad
This is a good size, and is good value for money, but I've experienced many of the problems that other reviewers have faced: most of the notches were too narrow so some of the ends broke off as I assembled it; much of the wood arrived with defects and edges broken off; the vertical support was too short (it could be that I assembled it wrong, but I did use a slat as a spacer as per the instructions). Also the vertical supports weren't pre-drilled, and as wood was very wet and green, it really gummed up my countersink bit as I drilled the pilot holes. All that aside, however, I'm mostly pleased with my purchase and like the way the finished product looks, but as you basically just receive a package of planks and screws I'd recommend that you're relatively handy and comfortable with a drill if thinking of purchasing.

Komposter naja
