Jiusion 40 to 1000x Magnification Endoscope, 8 LED USB 2.0 Digital Microscope, Mini Camera with OTG Adapter and Metal Stand, Compatible with Mac Window 7 8 10 11 Android Linux

This is an easy 5-stars for me. The price is amazing and it works extremely well. Ok, it's my first microscope so maybe I'm easily pleased, but it captures very good images at high magnification. Best of all for me is the fact that you just hook it up to your PC (it's plug and play, so just plug it in to a USB port and then turn on the 'Camera' app that comes with Windows) and you see the images on the screen instead of having to look into the microscope itself. This is really handy, it allows you to press the camera against your skin, hair, clothing etc and just look at the screen. The cable is long enough for it to reach from my PC, which is on a desk, down to the carpet. Then you can just hit 'Print Screen' and save your images in a paint package. I've had loads of fun with it and for £30, you just can't go wrong. The only issue I had, being a microscope noob, is that I couldn't work out how to focus it properly. A little bit of reading later and I realised that this an issue with all microscopes and it's due to focal length etc. It's not really a problem though, press it up against your subject and alter the zoom until it comes into focus. I find that for most subjects, I get clarity at two different zooms, one giving a good overall close-up and then it goes fuzzy until it comes into view again for a much more zoomed in close-up.

I've been getting into vintage watch repair, and trying to get a good set up without breaking the bank. Reviews seemed good on this digital scope but I was expecting to either have to purchase the optional stand (which I think is about £18) or make something for free with bits and bobs I had lying about. The supplied stand really isn't very useable so I would recommend purchasing the adjustable one. The scope can provide a clear image from about 5 inches away from the item, and the supplied stand doesn't allow you to set the scope at this distance - so you can't use its full range of zoom straight out of the box. I was very pleased to see this range, as I need that furthest height setting to allow access for screwdrivers / tweezers etc. See the pictures for an example. At this range you get a good full image of a watch movement on screen, with the ability to get very clear (outputs in 1440) images of tiny parts like balance hair springs etc. I've added some images as examples. Eg I lost a tiny click spring (made a bid for freedom who knows where) and was able to use the scope to make a new one - image attached. This would have been very tricky without the scope. Overall I am very impressed with this for 30 odd quid. Budget £50ish for this and the better stand and you won't be disappointed. If like me you are looking for a cheap watchmaking tool, then I don't think you could go wrong for the money - especially when other options are at least 10 times the price. One minor gripe, is that the length of the USB cable is fine for laptop use, but for a PC on the floor, it struggles to get there. I had to use an extension cable to get down the back of my desk and into the PC. No big deal.

Magnification and picture quality astounding, for the price! Easy to use and addictive too. Takes videos too. Can't really believe the quality of this little piece of kit, so bought another one for someone else, who also can't believe how great it is! Only gave it 4 and not 5 stars as the connection to the phone is a bit loose (using the adaptor provide), so you need to keep your phone still, or you lose connection, and the stand is a bit unstable (though I don't need the stand anyway).

For the price, a really excellent piece of kit. It effectively has two optical magnifications which are supplemented by a less useful digital zoom. The thumb wheel adjusts both focus AND, if you keep rotating it, moves between the two magnification levels. According to my calibrations these are 35X and 160X (at 640 x 480 on screen). Note these are two distinct magnifications - there is not a continuous 'zoom' function between the magnifications. By switching to a higher screen resolution (the video capture pin in the software goes all the way up to 6324 x 4742!) the apparent magnification increases to around 460X, but effectively is the 640 x 480 image blown up. So I have tended to use the microscope at what looks to me to be the native sensor resolution of 640x480 to give the highest quality images and videos. The included Amcap software works very well, though once you have installed the drivers, you can use other apps - like Window Movie Maker - to capture footage. The device is just another webcam as far as the PC is concerned. It also comes with an OTG adaptor to connect to your mobile phone which makes the device really useful for field work. Again you can use any app (I use Android 'Endoscope') to interface. On my phone, this doesn't work so well - any movement seems to disconnect the device. There is a knob about 1/3rd of the way down the USB cable to adjust the brightness of the 8 LED built in light - from off to extremely bright. The lighting is more than adequate for any situation. If using microscope slides you might need to tilt them a little to stop the lights reflecting in the glass (or use ambient light). If you are buying this microscope for the stated 1000x magnification and HD images, you might be disappointed, but if you want a really nice piece of kit able to comfortably magnify up to 160X with perfectly reasonable 640x480 images and don't want to spend more than £15 then you will be delighted. Images are: 1mm scale on a ruler, shaved facial hair, shed spider skins (low and high magnification), mosquito larvae (low and high magnification), and video of mosquito larvae swimming in pond water (low magnification).

Quite good for the price. You can’t expect miracles, but it does show enough of a stylus tip to see if it’s worn or damaged. It is a bit plasticky, and getting good alignment is fairly tricky, but you do get there eventually. The focus is also quite stiff to operate without moving misaligning it again. So it is a tad fiddly, but again, for the price, it works better than expected. For iPad users, it is actually compatible, if you have a USB-C model. Download an App called CamX (their website does have this in the instructions there), and it does indeed work on an iPad (iPad Pro 2020 here). All the controls seem accessible too, including the digital zoom (it’s not that useful to be honest, but digital zoom isn’t great on any camera really). No idea about the 40-1000x thing, magnification seems to be related to how close you can get, and how well you focus it. But it seems to have its uses, and could even be educational, or just fun, for youngsters. It’s worth a punt if you’re looking for something like this. ——- Update: Just a further comment, and a reduction of one star. I hadn’t spotted the resolution of this at first, but it’s not as good as expected. On the iPad, it only gets to 640x480, regardless of file type, or any other settings I could find. On a desktop (Mac Mini M1) it does increase a little, using Photo Booth, and gets up to a weird 1069x713. I would have hoped it could at least make a full HD level, but this is only 1980’s VGA standard, or just a little better perhaps. I have tried it to view the collection of record player styluses I have, and yeah, you can see them, but mostly just to see if they need a clean. You can also see if they’re a bonded or nude tip, and if you’re really lucky, you might see if they’re conical or elliptical - but you really do have to get the view dead right for that. I guess it still stands that it’s not bad for the price, but it is pretty much a thing for kids to explore with really.

This 2K HD USB microscope from Jiusion is a big step up from previous models.I have been using this microscope for about one month for adding/removing electronic components via soldering 0201 size chip components (these are very tiny parts and need to be picked up with ultra fine tweezers) and 0402 electronic components (resistors,capacitors,inductors) to small printed circuit boards. Adding or removing these very tiny electronic components from a pcb can be quite difficult and tricky and normally requires the use of an expensive stereo optical microscope but I didnt have any problems doing the same job with this microscope at much lower cost. I had the usb plugged into a windows 10 laptop and the choices of software all worked very well.One aspect of the software which I used and was very useful was that when I was viewing very tiny electronic components on the laptop screen and was ready to solder or de-solder the component, I could rotate the view through 0,90,180 and 270 degrees-this gave the optimum view to make soldering/desoldering quite easy and practical.Another aspect of the microscope I liked was that the light source could be controlled in 3 stages from normal brightness to very bright to very very bright via button control. With the very bright light source and the fact that this microscope is 2K HD helps to give a very high quality and well focussed field of view on my laptop and it was easy to zoom into any area of a printed circuit board and focus on a particular 0201 chip resistor component and rather than having just a flat field of vision (as happened with previous usb microscopes) I could view the electronic components as 3-D components so they had height,width and length which made it much easier to solder these very tiny components. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of this very low cost USB HD 2K microscope which is by far the best USB microscope I have used.

DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP! If you're intending to use this with an Android phone AVOID AVOID AVOID. I know it's cheap but that's where I went wrong, thought it was a bargain. But the 4 apps the instructions tell you download are useless; 2 don't even exist anymore and the other two are unusable, so you're essentially paying for a digital microscope you can look at and that is it. I have no idea if the microscope even works because the apps don't, so yeah avoid this product. I've returned mine for a full refund. If you want a digital microscope camera but don't want to spend almost 100 quid or more then maybe try one of the kids camera ones, they don't appear to connect to another device as they have screens themselves by the looks of it and they're around £20-30 at the cheapest end so I think that's what I will probably try next once the refund goes through.

Amazing little microscope,2wirks better than expected.

So I got this for my daughter to observe things. It arrived on time,the packaging was good,and the stand was amazing.But the microscope's USB wasn't working properly on either phone or computer,also the type C adapter didn't come with it. Definitely not what I expected.

This microscope is extremely useful for showing details of many objects, without the need to destroy the object. However, prepared objects between slides can be studied as well. Attached a screen copy with S-EYE (the software) connected to the Jiusion USB microscope. You see dried coffee on a plastic slide. The microscope is adjusted to about 1000 times. A disadvantage is that the transparant plastic safety cap at the front of the microscope should be removed first to reach 1000 times.

Great tool to use when you need to work on tiny details. I bought it to help me repair my phone and it perfectly does the job! Easy to install, just downloaded the apps available and you can even zoom 5x extra. Very fine image details with balanced color and contrast. If needed, the app allows you to tweak them even more. I like the illumination and its brightness. Enough to do minuscule work like soldering SMD components. Very nice product for the price. I definitely recommend it.
