Bought these pans because of concerns over non-stick/carcenogenic issues. Great value- buying pans as a set gives a significant saving. Don’t wash with detergent but use a brush and water- then rub with oil or meat dripping once completely dry and cool. Your pans will serve you well for your lifetime!

I purchased Lodge cast iron skillets because they were recommended by my local butcher perfect for cooking a 10inch T-Bone steak 2inch thick medium rare 2.30mins each side on a medium heat the flavours of the steak tastes like it was cooked in a Restaurant no more grilled steak for me

I love these AMERICAN cast iron pans. I washed them in hot soapy water dried them and put them on the hob to dry them completely. Then I gave them a good oiling while they were hot. I googled how to take care of them. I used the very big one as was making a very big shepherds pie. At first I thought oh the meat is sticking, but actually I just ran the spoon across the pan and all was fine. cooked the meat perfect. I love the fact I can use metal utensils on them and not to have to worry about the coating as it’s not like non stick. So if you are going to buy these cast iron pans you need to learn how to take care of them so you get the best out of them for the rest of your life. Thank you America. I’m only little and well into my 70s more nearer 80 and I used the biggest one and still managed even though it’s pretty heavy for a little thing like myself. The biggest one is heavy.Just never forget to use oven gloves at all times as the handles naturally get hot. They really are great pans.

Ich habe mir das Lodge Gusseisen-Pfannen-Set mit drei Pfannen in den Größen 20,3 cm, 26,7 cm und 30,5 cm bestellt und bin rundum zufrieden. Der Versand war erstaunlich schnell, und die Pfannen kamen sicher verpackt bei mir an – so wünscht man es sich. Besonders praktisch: Die Pfannen sind bereits vorgebrannt und können direkt benutzt werden. Die Qualität ist hervorragend – robust, sauber verarbeitet und ohne scharfe Kanten. Man merkt sofort, dass sie für eine lange Lebensdauer ausgelegt sind. Beim Braten zeigen sie dann ihre wahre Stärke. Die Wärmeverteilung ist sehr gleichmäßig, wodurch Fleisch eine schöne Kruste bekommt und Gemüse perfekt gegart wird. Auch Pfannkuchen gelingen problemlos, und dank der eingebrannten Oberfläche haftet kaum etwas an. Natürlich sind die Pfannen aufgrund des Gusseisens etwas schwerer, was aber völlig normal ist. Einziger kleiner Nachteil: Die Griffe werden heiß, also sollte man immer einen Topflappen oder Handschuh zur Hand haben. Fazit: Wer gerne mit Gusseisen kocht, macht mit diesem Set alles richtig. Die Pfannen sind vielseitig einsetzbar, langlebig und liefern erstklassige Bratergebnisse. Klare Empfehlung – von mir gibt es 5 von 5 Sternen!

Tried and tested. An awesome pan. Totally recommend purchase. Value for money. So glad to have finally invested in the right pan. Though it says ready to use but washing and then seasoning it with a good amount of oil after thoroughly heating the pan and then removing excess oil and wiping it dry with a cloth is recommended for easy cooking and not having the food stick to the pan. Food tastes so much better when cooked in cast iron pan in comparison to a non stick cookware. Thank you Lodge for making this awesome cookware.
