TV LED Backlight, RGBIC Smart LED Strip Lights for 55-65 inch TVs

I installed the Govee TV LED Backlight behind my 55–65 inch TV, and it has completely changed my viewing experience. Setup was quick and easy. The adhesive sticks well, the strip reaches all the way around my TV, and connecting to the Govee app was smooth with no frustration. What really stands out is the color and vibrancy these lights bring. Whether I’m watching movies, playing games, or just streaming shows, the ambient glow adds a whole new level of immersion. The RGBIC technology lets multiple colors shine at once, so I get dazzling effects that sync to music and on‑screen action if I want that mode. Controlling the lights from my phone or voice assistant feels effortless, and I love that I can customize brightness, color modes, and scenes without digging through menus. It’s also made late‑night viewing more enjoyable by reducing eye strain with that soft background glow. Overall, this LED backlight is a fun and affordable way to upgrade any TV setup. I’m really happy with the look and the easy performance it delivers every time.

As someone who is all about the ~ambiance~ and who despises overhead lights, I adore this backlight. ——— PROS ——— - Super easy to apply. Just wipe the back of the TV down with the included wipe, peel the tape off the light strips, and stick onto the edges of your TV. It’s hard to mess up, even if you don’t perfectly position the light strips. You can also re-position them if you need to without losing the stickiness. - The cord is fairly long in case your outlet is far away, but it’s also thin enough that I can bundle it up with a twisty tie and hide it behind my TV. - Will work with a TV even if the back isn’t completely flat. I just ran the strip over a bump out that was on one side and it worked fine. - The lights are bright and vibrant. No dead spots. - The Govee app, which is what you need to customize these, is easy to use and reliable, which can’t be said for other tech gadgets like this that require an app. - There’s about a billion different pre-set light settings, and you can also make custom settings with any color you want and even set each light independently. You can set favorites in the app so it’s easy to find the ones you like. - Works well with my Google Home. All I had to do was add the backlight in the Govee app and then select “works with Google” and search for “Govee” when adding a device in the Google Home app. It stays synced/paired and I don’t have to mess around with it. - Brightness/color can be adjusted both in the app and with voice commands. There’s a button on the cord on the back of the TV to turn it on/off manually too. - Can be set on a schedule with the Google Home app and I think also with the Govee app - I’ve had the backlight on my TV for about a month and so far haven’t had any issues with the lights falling off or coming un-stuck. ——— CONS ——— - May be a little small for bigger TVs. I got the 55-65 inch size, and it was a perfect fit for my 55 inch TV, meaning that the lights ran from one edge of my TV to the next on all sides with no gaps. There is enough cord to cover the corners if your TV is bigger, so technically it will fit a 65 inch TV, but the corners might be a bit darker than the rest. If you want it to be seamless, I’d go with a larger size. The light strip is flexible, so you can bend it a bit to make it fit if it’s too long. - The “sync to music” setting is pretty bad. I can tell that it is actually reacting to the music, but it’s mostly just erratic flashing. ———— Here’s a bonus list of commands that I’ve found work with Google: - Turn on/off the living room TV backlight” (tip: name your backlight something fun in the Govee app if that’s too much of a mouthful) - Make the TV backlight blue (any color works here, even ones like “indigo” or “light pink”) - Make the TV backlight candlelight (gently flickers shades of orange/red) - Set the TV backlight brightness to 20% (or whatever % you want) - Make it spooky in here (flashes lights purple/green/orange with spooky music) - Turn up the love (flashes lights pink/red with romantic sax music) - I believe there’s others as well but those are the ones I’ve found work ——— Overall I’m really happy with this light and glad I bought it instead of some of the pricier ones I was looking at. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but for now I’d definitely recommend it! (BTW: I bought this with my own money, and I wasn’t paid to write this review. I rely heavily on reviews when shopping on here, so I just write these for future need-to-know-everything-before-buying shoppers like me.)

Overall, these lights are terrific. They light up the living space with vibrant colors and bright effects. The RGBIC feature was something I didn't know I wanted, but now I can't live without. Especially in combination with other Govee lights, these strips bring some amazing ambiance and life to a room. The strips themselves, as others have mentioned, are overall good, but have some flaws. First, the good: I love that the strips are black so they don't clash with the color of the TV. Also the dedicated corner wires make it so you don't have to deal with the confusion on how to twist the strip around corners without breaking them, so that's a big plus. I have a 55in TV and these fit around the back rim perfectly. The major flaw comes in the adhesive. This can really be hit or miss. For example, 3/4's of my strip had good ahesive that has stayed secure for months now. However, out of the package, the last 1/4th of the strip had very little to no adhesive at all and could not hold itself up. Fortunately, Govee rectifies this by including some dedicated mounting brackets, so I was able to use them to finish mounting the strip. It would be better if the mounting brackets were colored black instead of white so the colors don't clash, but functionally they get the job done where the adhesive fails. Despite that, the lights and the many patterns are great. The app itself to control the lights can be finicky, but after taking a few minutes to walk through the app, you'll find the basic functions. I wish that there was a way to slow down some of the light patterns, as some of them are extremely fast moving. Overall, I would highly recommend these lights. They are affordable, versatile, and have a wide variety of features. The adhesive can be hit or miss, but regardless, these lights are terrific.

I’ve been using the Govee TV LED Backlight strips on several TVs around the house, and they’ve really been a game-changer. The lights are super bright and pack a great range of vibrant RGBIC colors, which makes the viewing experience way more immersive. Whether I’m watching a movie, a show, or just playing music, the colors shift in cool patterns or stay solid to match the screen. The app gives you full control, and the ability to customize scenes is awesome—my favorites are the smoother, softer ones for late-night viewing. They really make the room feel more dynamic without being distracting. For my main spots—the family room TV and home theater—I use the premium Govee hdmi syncboxes to match content on the screen. However for my less used TVs this is perfectly fine. I usually just set them to a steady ambient glow to reduce eye strain in the dark. They’re not meant to light up the whole room but they certainly do so, they do a perfect job of soft, indirect lighting behind the TV. Overall, these are a solid, well-designed product. The setup was easy, the app is intuitive, and they’ve held up well over time—no flickering or dead sections. I love how customizable they are, and the brightness is strong enough to see clearly but not too harsh. If you’re looking to upgrade your TV setup with smart, colorful lighting that’s both functional and fun, these are definitely worth it. I’d recommend them, especially if you’re already into Govee’s ecosystem.

I got an upgraded TV from the one I've had since 2021 (yeah, it was time haha) and so I figured I might as well get new tv lights as well. The last ones were from 2022 and they were the Govee RGB. These ones I bought are the * RGBIC* and holy moly... it's baffling how much brighter, richer, just overall beautiful the functions are! So many more options for light schemes, beautiful tech, they even connect better since they have their own wall outlet! I am obsessed! definitely worth the price, and very very easy to set up! Highly recommend!!

I love these! Installation only took about 10 minutes. I was surprised at how good the white /warm white colors look, as most RGB lights have a blueish or red hue. I also didn’t know they worked with Alexa when I bought them, but that’s a huge bonus. I can control the light color and brightness with voice commands and routines which is awesome! Overall really happy with them especially for the price.

These look great and work flawlessly via the app which allows you to control it remotely and/or set it to a schedule. These are great for your eyes for when you’re watching TV or gaming in a darker room. My one and only complaint is the strength of the adhesive. Like most, if not all, TVs the back of my LG is textured, and after about a month and a half some of the light mounts are falling. The strips are double-sided but there are also mounts to help with keeping them up. But honestly this isn’t surprising considering TVs get warm and adhesives will only do so much against a warm textured surface.

PLEASE READ — I love govee products so I did not take the time to read the reviews myself upon purchase and wish I had. The adhesion is awful, as previously mentioned in other reviews, some of my adhesive came completely off the strip and stuck to the temporary paper instead? The clips also had terrible adhesive and barely stuck. I was able to carefully peel some of the messed up adhesive off the paper and put it back on the led strip as it’s supposed to go. HOWEVER, 3/5 stars because the instructions were god awful. I thought these were the same as any other led light strip where it is one long cohesive strip. It did not specify that there would be wired corners WHICH I would’ve given 5 stars for, IF the instructions had stated so. I had to peel and stick the LED twice with already bad adhesive to make sure it lined up correctly with my TV. The instructions were so simple and just peel and stick essentially. When they should mention there are wired corners and for each wired section it needs to match which side of the tv it’s going for. Like I said, makes sense, would’ve been 5 stars if it wasn’t just “peel and stick”. The strip kept coming all the way off the tv and the clips are barely keeping it in place. I am sure it will all come down at some point, which I will come back and update this review if it does.

I bought these lights for the back of my TV, and setup was a breeze. They’re bright and look great against a white wall. If your walls are darker, they won’t reflect the light as much, but that’s just how light works. The lights themselves are plenty bright. They work well with Google Home, so you can control them with your voice, and the app has plenty of options and is easy to use. No complaints at all, and I’d definitely buy them again. Take your time installing them.

Make my living room looks cozy af. Its great for 65 inches TVs but it would be hard to fit on a 55. It neatly fit my 65". The leds are high quality and there are plenty of modes for what you look for. This is the Aurora-2 them
