The leaf should be taken and mashed with a little water then the juice of this is mixed into the cooking of the dish. These look and smell the same. I use them mainly when making desserts by adding them to the coconut milk and heating it over a low heat. In curries you can add them to the dish and then just remove them before serving. I an no expert but they do add a nice taste to food and you can taste the difference the leaves make to a dish. 200g of leaves is a lot more than I was expecting them to be so this should last ages.
