Calypso Once a Day Sun Protection Lotion with SPF 30, 200ml

EDIT AND UODATE AFTER USING: So I said I’d update and give a review after I’d used it in the sun and I’m happy to say it stands up to its claims. I’ve had this on legs and arms, been out for bike rides and in the garden working all day in the sun and I’ve not burned once. So this is a definite 5 stars for me, cheap as chips and so elegant to put on, no grease or sticky residue and doesn’t make the hairs on my legs or arms sticky. I will be using this from now on. I adore Ultrasun but that’s at least double the price of this and this is just as good so this will now be my got to body sunscreen. I absolutely love it. Ok so this just arrived today. It’s absolutely throwing it down today here in the UK so can’t attest to the sun protection yet ( hence why only 4 stars and I’ll update when I’ve been out in the sun all day) but in terms of allegiance, applying and how it feels on the skin I can at least review as I’ve already tried it on my arms which are hairy ( I’m a guy 😂) and my face which I’m very fussy with in terms of sun protection as most feel tacky and greasy. No I’m a long time user in Ultrasun, used and loved them for years but the price is a little high, however for sun protection can we really put a price on it? I use their face 30 all the time and their sports gel for rest of my body. I have NEVER burned and only ever applied it once a day unless I’ve been swimming in the sea or a pool. It has never let me down, doesn’t feel greasy or tacky but sometimes the price can be a bit much when I’m having a bad week. I saw this yesterday as a once a day and though for 6 quid I’ll give it a go, didn’t know it was a clear liquid and thought if I don’t like it I’ll just use it up on my legs and not purchase it again. Omg, this has gone on like a dream, I’m a bit gobsmacked for the low price tbh. I really wasn’t expecting too much but WOW, I actually said Jesus Christ as I first applied it to my hairy arm. It glides right on and then just disappeared, no tacky, oily feeling, o sticky hairs and after like 5 minutes I can’t even tell there’s anything on my arms. I thought I’d give it a quick try on the face just to see and the same again, did feel a little more tacky at first than the arm but then boom, it’s gone, I could absolutely use this also as my face spf. So now all I need to do is test it out in the sun of course which is the main reason for using it. However I had to review already as I’m really impressed with how it’s applied, I’ve used loads of sun lotions, creams, oils in my 50 years and this is definitely one of the best in terms of how it sinks in to my skin. Now if this holds up in the sun then I think I’ll be changing over from my Ultrasun and buying this from now on. I really hope it gives the protection as I’m really impressed with the rest of it. Absolutely love it so far. ❤️

I like this sun protector very much. I used the factor 20 but decided to order factor 30. It goes on as a clear smooth liquid. I do find it last all day if your out and about.

Excellent kept us from burning easy to use

This sun lotion is absolutely brilliant. The best I’ve tried. It ticks all the boxes for me as a blonde, pale, pasty freckled skin lady who burns to a crisp within 15 mins of seeing the sunshine. The boxes it ticks is that it’s a great consistency and very very easily glides on the skin and mega easy to apply. It’s more like a gel consistency not a thick horrible white cream like most on the market. The next good point is its not sticky. I can’t stand sticky sun creams….it’s enough to put me off applying and using them. I can’t stand the sticky feeling. It also dries very quickly and because it’s “Once a Day” it does stay out for a very very long time. Obviously you’d need to put another layer on if you go swimming (or I would), but during this recent lovely 3 week heatwave I put this lotion in in the morning when I get dressed and that’s me for the day lazing around the garden. I’ve never got burnt with this one at Factor 30. Other brands I’ve got burnt using factor 50. It smells nice too. I’ve picked it up in Home Bargains before now….but purchasing on Amazon has been more convenient for this purchase as I’ve been convalescing at home. Really great sun protection. I’d highly recommend this one and a very good reasonable price too. You’ll be safe in the sun using this great lotion folks.

As someone with pale skin and blonde hair who loves the sun, I've relied on once-a-day sun protection for over a decade. I started the journey with P20 but switched to Calypso for its affordability, and I haven't looked back! This lotion feels more like an oil, gliding on smoothly and absorbing quickly. While it initially feels a bit oily, that sensation disappears once it's absorbed. The scent is a bit unusual – slightly oily and chemical – but not too overpowering. The best part? It truly lives up to its "once-a-day" name. I can apply it in the morning and enjoy a full day of sun without needing to reapply, even in hot climates like Mexico, Egypt, and South Africa. Although it's water-resistant, I always reapply after swimming for peace of mind. A 200ml bottle lasts me for two weeks, and our family of four 3 bottles for about two weeks, with generous daily application. I do carry a regular sun lotion spray for topping up any areas that feel particularly hot, but honestly, I've never had any issues with burning while using Calypso. If you're fair-skinned and tired of constantly reapplying sunscreen, I highly recommend giving Calypso Once a Day a try. It's an affordable and effective option that allows you to enjoy the sun without worry.

Whole this dries quickly and isn't sticky and has no white cast, it does sting! My kids refuse to have it on for this reason. I've got sensitive skin and it's not too bad and doesn't cause a flare up but wouldn't buy again. It also has a bit of a chemical smell to it.

La seule crème à ma connaissance qui protège très bien en en mettant une voir deux fois dans la journée même si on se baigne plusieurs fois. Pas grasse mais risque de tâcher lez vêtements si vous n'attendez pas un peu avant de vous habiller. Sinon pour ma part je n'utilise plus que cette crème..

Me ha sorprendido. Nunca habia usado esta marca de protección y realmente es muy buena, aun siendo protección de 30; solo hace falta echársela una sola vez al día. La sensación cuando te la echas en la mano en como si fuera un gel, pero inmediatamente se vuelve líquida. Su olor es bastante agradable y se extiende perfectamente. Yo la volveré a comprar, sin dudarlo. La hemos usado mi marido y yo, Y no me he puesto ni rosa, jajjajjaja....tengo una piel muy blanquita y siempre me quemo. Espero que las probéis. Gracias

Muy eficaz sunscran. Aplicar una vez al día es brillante. No es grasiento y tiene un olor agradable. Comprará definitivamente otra vez.
