AMMACO CYCLE BIKE BICYCLE BASKET METAL FRAME SUPPORT FOR WIRE OR WICKER BASKETS

The item is well made but be careful as to fit any basket you need eyelites on the frame. Initially I thought I could get away with fitting to the quick release but this meant that the fork competed with the stand to seat itself above the quick release. This resulted in the fork seating on the quick release and it did not seem safe. Maybe older bikes may not have this problem. The screws and nuts supplied with it are good quality with self locking nuts. The metal looks solid and paintwork is good. Having the light holder is a must otherwise it would be very difficult to fit lights on to the front of the basket.

Seems a sturdy basket support. The only reason for a 4 star rating is the holes to fix to the bike were tight. I was thinking of drilling them out but persevered and used WD40 to fit.

This is the second frame From this seller I have bought as it is easy to fit and install and works so well at supporting my bicycle baskets.

This thing was a lifesaver. I bought a basket that, as most do, was being held by two straps. This is not enough to hold anything at the front. This support frame was exactly what was needed. The only challenge was that the holes didn't exactly fit at the bottom, and I needed to open them up with a metal drill slightly, but ever so slightly (I saw others comment the same). Apart from that, I followed instructions from others saying that you need to put your wicker basket in water before putting the screws through, and lo and behold it made it really easier to secure it on this support frame. Bike looks great now with this, and the weight supported in the basket significantly increased

Comes with 4 washers you really need 8 , 4 either side luckily I had some in the garage. Where it connects to the bike at the wheels I found it was going to damage the paint so I put some packing between the bike and frame see photo. Looks good though and very sturdy, my wife can do her down hill stuff now safe in the knowledge her bag will be safe.

The height from the bottom lowest fixing hole is 17.5" the other holes will reduce the height further not increase it, in the description it details that teh adjustment with the three fixing holes will give you heights of 24", 26", 27" and 28" My wifes bike has a 26" wheel and a 20" frame. the maximum height you can get from the fixing to the top is to reach the bottom of a basket is 17.5" which is clearly well short of the 21" I required. there is NO flexibility in getting any height above 17.5" you can reduce the height from 17.5" to lower but not higher...There is no way can get this to reach 24,26,27 or 28" very miss leading informaiton. Save yourself the hassle and dont bother...

Easy to install to the bike. A little more difficult to attach to the basket. This is because the basket didn’t have a bracket to attach to the support. I thought as they were recommended together (basket and support) that this would be a simple job. Once sorte it does what it says and supports my basket perfectly.
