Quick and easy to apply, handy to have for the rainy day.
I live in the wet Welsh countryside, out in the forests and hills a lot, pavements are something we hear city folk talk about. :) SO lots of walking in wet grass and through bushes especially on verges as tourists fly by dragging white rooms behind them. As we all know wet grass is the downfall of many a walking shoe/trainer. Pretty much all of them fail here. This product is so so handy to have in a drawer at home. When one of us comes home and the toes have become damp, especially with early morning dew I whip this out and blob it on when the shoes are already wet, except for sealed leather I let them dry a little first just because this stuff slows down the drying rate a little. By afternoon they are waterproof again. Lasts for a few weeks then re applied. Concentrate on stitched areas obviously and never leave shoes on a radiator to dry. It gets used on everything from Converse, Vans, Karrimor, Salomon, leather school shoes, basically all of our footwear except my Crocs, nobody touches my Crocs on pain of death!!! Takes a few seconds to apply and has a lasting effect. Exactly what we want. Hasn't altered the colour of anything, doesn't leave a lingering smell and nobody has had toes fall off or skin erupt in blisters or a rash. Highly recommended.

Works well, but varying results.
These worked brilliantly on my suede boots. No marks or discolouration and they're now water proof! However, I tried to use this on a jacket (no idea what material it is) and it left super obvious white marks and streaks everywhere so that's now ruined. I'd say use this on super absorbent material only, to prevent marks. It also stinks so do it outside!

After a stern test, this works
This stuff simply works. Easy to apply and given a stern test in recent deluges. Used it on walking shoes and boots, and on boonie hat. Very happy and dry bunny. And I was lucky enough to pick it up for £4.04. Will definitely use this again.

Brilliant water protection for footwear
I love this stuff. This is the second bottle I’ve bought. Both the husband and I have been impressed at the ease of use, and the level of protection on our walking boots. Pretty much just Clean off the boots and spray. This time I also gave it a go on my suede boots, I couldnt be happier with the results. Looking at them You’d not know they’ve been treated, but they’re certainly water resistant now. (I say water resistant for the suede boots as, After walking on the wet grass and through a few shallow puddles, my feet have remained dry - this is as much as I’ve tested them in the wet. In heavier rain I’m either in my wellies or walking boots) I’ve read reviews where people have used this on handbags and coats, I’m not sure I’d go that far. But if you’re planning on waterproofing your shoes, you won’t go far wrong with this.

A bit confusing with instructions
Seems okay

Worked very well.
I bought this for a pair of fabric walking boots that turned out tp be not as waterproof as they ought to have been. I was a little surprised that the instructions said to apply to damp material, but I followed them. This was fairly easy to apply and it does work very well - my shoes are now waterproof, I am very happy.

Nikwax Fabric Proofer
Its worked on my Berghaus Goretex boots,to my disbelief. I had my boots from new and over a period of time they became less and less waterproof. I got the Nikwax on them and thought that if it worked it the proofing would be blownout after one or two trips. Well they are still holding up and my feet are dry. The mode of application is a bit tacky - spray might be better.

Water proofer for my winter boots
I have used this twice to water proof my childrens fabric boots as well as my own winter boots. Neither have been subject to heavy use but the shell of the boots is water proof so this can be regarded as an effective protection product. I cannot comment on warmth.
