Rubber Maxi Jet Lighter, Windproof, Electronic, Refillable, Jet, Gas, Turbo, Blowtorch, Transparent, See Through, Clear Lighter

My trusty lighter of around 5 years had finally started showing it's age. First it wouldn't light on first press, then it got to the point that it would take about 30 presses to strike once! I knew it was time for a new lighter! I ordered this as it was cheap and had a jet flame! I didn't think it would be very good but it would last until I bought a nicer, more long-term one. It arrived and I was pleasantly surprised (and if you read my reviews often you'd find that I'm surprised quite a lot!). It is a matte black and has of a slight rubberized coated feel to the whole exterior, bar the bottom. This reminds me of what computer mouse manufacturers often use on the top of most mice these days. It's nice. The outer casing of the lighter is made of a slightly flexible plastic which is quite strong. This means that the lighter is kept very light indeed. It is hardly noticed when inside your pocket even though it is quite large in size. The whole underside of the unit is a clear plastic. This gives you a nice view of the fluid levels and this is when you really notice how big this lighters tank is. When it arrived it was pre-filled with fluid and ready to go. I would say it was around three quarters full then and a month later it finally ran out (and I smoke quite a lot). So this really does pack a lot fuel and due to the (very) clear tank view at the bottom it is easy to see when your likely to run low and so you can always make sure your full and loaded. The flame itself is blue with a hint of green if held long enough. It seems to hold up against the wind very well. At least it survived the 'blow test' anyway! I bought this windproof lighter on a bit of a whim (I'm always on the lookout for decent cheap lighters). And it's a nice wee lighter that works perfectly well (though I see from other reviews that others have had issues). However, for £4 my expectations were not set too high; for as my auld Mum used to always say - you get what you pay for son. And for £4 this is a very respectable windproof gas lighter I must say. So far mine is working fine and from that perspective it's very hard to fault. Holds a decent amount of gas (came full) and I do like the feel of the lighter; it's got a 'rubbery' texture, soft and nice (hard to tell from the pictures). The switch works well and it's easy to adjust the flame using a little red lever on the back side of the lighter. Powerful flame btw; watch you don't burn yer thumb when you light it. Yeah, this lighter is pretty good and I would have high expectations for it. On that basis I am happy to recommend this product as it is a really nice storm lighter in my opinion. And it's only £4. Great lighter that is getting a real work out. I live on a farm and it is used for cigarettes and bonfires! Works very well in the wind, easy to fill and a very nice feel to it UPDATE. Still happy but have had two of these lighters only last a few months each. the problem with the last one is the spark breaking so will not light the gas. First one was the button breaking.Last one lasted 4 months which at the price I am willing to accept. However wish they lasted a bit longer as they are very nice to use.

This is the best lighter I've ever had. Disposables run out, or break too quickly. I've got a Zippo, which is great, but in the wind it almost burns your nose off if you're not careful. This is the perfect medium. Will not break down after a few days and will not burn you. I've bought a spare for work, just in case I leave it at home.

Item delivered no instructions and in jiffy bag. Has hairline crack somewhere as leaked fuel and whole lighter caught alight. Contacted seller and wanted photos which would not show anything. Then wants returned to replace at my cost. Poor product.

The first one I received had a fault, and its replacement was dispatched promptly. What excellent customer service! In any case, this Maxi-Jet lighter is a good refillable lighter for under a fiver. Inexpensive, easily refilled (using my Clipper butane gas), feel more durable than the Clippers and the like one usually finds in the local supermarket and quickly bins, has a lid, and the non-slip rubberised material sits easy in the hand. Lasted two years until it stopped working. Still sparks, just doesn't ignite. Binned. Ho hum. My Flame-Jet ones I bought at the same time are still going strong. Maxi-Jet - wider, slimmer profile, zippo-like in shape, sits easy in a pocket. Flame-Jet - barrel-like, useful flame-lock for use as a mini-blowtorch/lighting barbecues etc.
