AMIR quality and design excellence as always in a clock that is delightfully colourful and accommodating.
I have been writing reviews for several companies for a couple of years now but it became too time consuming and my house became filled with goods. Therefore I stopped doing this service many months ago with one exception...AMIR !! The products from this company exceed every expectation in every item! The quality and craftsmanship that goes into the manufacture of Amir products of all kinds is perfect giving excellent quality and reliability for your money.Every day I refuse requests to trial a product and review it, but when Amir asks me I am only too happy to give their products a thorough checking over and testing and only then do I give my honest unbiased opinion. Hence this review. This is an amazing clock in every way. The gradual lightening of the face at sunrise in slow incremental increases is a boon to those of us who do not enjoy bright lights as soon as we wake. The choice of five different colours is also a delight, I personally love the blue light as I find it easy on my eyes and they are getting old now poor things. With 4 increasing brightness settings, you can fit the light to suit your preference and the surrounding ambience.I especially love the FM radio feature as I love to wake up to the gentle music of Classic fm, my preferred station but you can choose your own favourite at the touch of a button. This unit is not only good to look at but is simple to set up and to use giving you a multitude of choices to customize it to suit your tastes.I prefer the 24 clock, no particular reason, I simply have used it for many years and so I was delighted when this clock gave me that option as well as the regular 12 hour clock with am and pm settings.I have simply shown my setting of the clock in my photographs as there are multi posting of all of the colours on this page for you to check out. I can highly recommend this clock as an ideal gift for someone or for your own use.As this is an AMIR product, I can guarantee the quality with no reservations, I have yet to be disappointed by them.

good basic light/sunrise simulator alarm clock, excellent value for money
I got this light because I have seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and it's recommended to get a sunrise alarm clock to use alongside light therapy. Sunrise simulator lamps aren't medical/therapy lamps but are supposed to help when you use both. I was expecting to spend a lot more money for one so it was a pleasant surprise to see one in this price range. You set the alarm for what time you want to get up and 30 mins before that time it comes on at 1% intensity and over 30 mins it gradually gets brighter until it's at 100% at the time you set it for. 10 mins before the time, the alarm sounds for 1 minute at a low volume and then at the alarm time the sound comes on again at the volume you set it for.The result of this is that I'm wide awake and ready to get out of bed about 5 mins before the time the alarm's set for, which is pretty amazing for me in autumn/winter. Usually it's a struggle to get out of bed, but with this light it's even easier than it is in the summer. If you have SAD you would need a proper therapy light to treat the SAD, but this light a) makes it much easier for me to get out of bed and b) means the light therapy light doesn't feel like a big shock to my system when I first turn it on. If you don't have SAD but find it hard to wake up easily in winter due to it being dark, or you just want a gentle alternative to a beeping alarm clock that makes you just want to press snooze all the time, then you might like this light.I was particularly impressed by the quality of the light. At full intensity the light is bright, but it's not harsh. It feels the same as natural light. The light can also be a reading/bedside lamp. You can set the intensity of white light by touching the buttons on the front. Even the low intensity one is comfortable for reading when it's a beside lamp. You can change the colour too (four colours) all bright enough to read by (when next to the lamp). It also has a changing colours setting which is very pretty and relaxing. The quality of the light at all intensities and colours is very good. Also, the unit itself looks good and is very lightweight. What I didn't like so much is that it only has one set program and can't be changed (e.g. adjusting the sunrise time from 30 mins to, say, 20 or 40 mins, or changing when the sounds come on, etc). This isn't a big deal to me because it works just fine for me the way it is and I'm wide awake when it's time to get up, but some people may prefer a different pattern of light/sound and won't have that option. The other thing I didn't like is that the sound/speaker quality isn't the best, particularly with the radio. It's not a deal breaker for me, but for listening to the radio I'd rather keep the radio I've got already and use this light with the nature sounds. This is why it's only got 4 stars and not 5.It's quite hard to set up and it's not intuitive. However, the instructions are simple and clear and if you follow them you should be able to set it up.Overall, I'm very impressed with this light/alarm clock and would definitely recommend it and it's excellent value seeing as there are other sunrise simulator alarm clocks that cost way more than this and from the specs don't appear to do any more than this one. Maybe they have a bit more versatility and better sound quality but those two things alone don't make up for the huge difference in price.

Lacking refinement
The initial light produced when the 'alarm' goes off was far brighter than expected. Certainly not 0%. More like straight in at 15% or so. Just my opinion. The 'natural' sounds were awful and so was the speaker they come from. Super tinny. The radio function was really really poor. Didn't even get all the usual BBC radio channels. The functional buttons on the back aren't ergonomically accessible and feel horribly cheap. The buttons on the front are pretty nice though. The auto dim on the clock was nice too but it dims at a set time you can't adjust.I returned the item as I wast happy with it with no problems.Haven't tried the proper Philips ones because they are a bit pricy but I'm sure they would be much better.

Excellent product at a great price.
Great value for money. I chose this one because it has radio and nature sounds, I'm going for nature sounds at the moment. A few of them are quite repetitive loops of the same 5 second clip but most of them are good. Radio signal is ok, bit of a static sound but it's not claiming to be a DAB radio and at this price it's really good. The light up feature wakes me but I set the nature sounds alarm just in case. It is pretty bright on the brightest setting, I do need to reposition it I think so it's not right next to my head, it can be a bit dazzling. A bit fiddly to set but once I did it a few times I got the hang of it. Can't beat it for the price. It works every time and it's getting me up every morning like I've wanted to do my whole life!

A clock that can't keep time?!
Have been using this product for a couple of weeks and I was relatively happy with it until recently when I noticed that the clock was losing time! What do I mean by this? I would set the clock for midnight according to my phone and by the next night the clock would have lost between 1-3 minutes (so showing something like 11:58 instead of 00:00). I found this very frustrating that I had to reset the clock almost every night to get it back on track. This is very frustrating as I'm sure we all have very tight routines in the morning. This was the breaking point for me and the clock. Although I wanted it primarily as a wake up light I could not get along with it if it can't keep up with the right time!Other issues I hate noted: I don't use the coloured setting so I can't say much on that. the wake up light worked well but it wasn't a smooth continuous brightening of the lamp but more discrete increases that made it seem like it was flashing. I didn't like any of the sounds it makes as they are very false sounds, you can turn this off but you can hear clicking and whirring when the alarm sounds would be going, which was annoying. So take it from me, as I have used the lamp for a few weeks, spend money on a better lamp

Ok for the money but go for a more expensive brand/model
Get what you pay for - good in idea but a poorly executed item.Easy to set up. Good colour spectrum. Nice natural sounds to wake up to in the morning although the light is not as natural as it pertains to be - is quite harsh on the yellow setting.Flimsy item. feels very breakable.Loses time at a rate of 1 minute per day.

Great Idea - Poor Execution
Update - 21/09/17Whilst I can't in good conscience uprate the review for this light clock, I have to say that the seller in question was very keen to make things right for me. As there was no guarantee that a replacement clock would be any more accurate, I was sent an upgraded version to test out. This is what I was sentAMIR Upgraded Wake-Up Light, 1-Year Warranty (6 Natural Sounds, FM Radio, Snooze Function) Sunrise Sunset Simulation Alarm Clock, Multi Light Modes, Touch Screen with USB Charger, LED time display, Night Light for Bedroom, Playroom, etcand although I've only been using it for 4 days, I'm advising prospective buyers to spend the extra money if they can afford it. I would be more than happy to pay the extra for this upgraded clock, just for fact that it doesn't lose time. There are a couple of other improvements that add considerable value (for me). Whilst touch screen is the latest thing - it's not great for those of us with co-ordination problem, so it's great to have some proper buttons on the top of the clock for certain functions - like the snooze button. Large, curved, distinct. So when you get used to it, there's no more accidentally cancelling the alarm instead of snoozing. And unlike the previous versions of this clock, no peering short-sightedly into the light trying to distinguish which part of the clock face is the snooze section or hoping for the best. This clock has pretty much the same sounds and lights as the earlier version, so I can still wake to the sound of water (waves on the shore, rather than a running stream or river), or birds singing or someone playing the piano, etc. Add to this the timer for the sunset simulation - which can be set for 15, 30 or 60 minutes. I've yet to find a use for the 'mood' lights, but the ordinary light can be set so it's more than bright enough to read by, therefore eliminating the need for a bedside lamp if power sockets or space are an issue. These are all reasons I would gladly recommend the upgraded version over this version and I have to say, I'd be more than happy to order from 'AMIR' again, because their customer service was great.[original review]I love the idea of this - pity the execution wasn't great. I did find that having the light and sound of moving water (as in a river, rather than a running tap) made it easier to wake up and get up in the morning, but if something is being sold as an alarm clock, then it should be more accurate than it is. Sadly, this had lost more than 5 minutes in under a week - the first 2 minutes happened within the first day.It takes a bit of time to work out how to set the time and the alarm and choose what sound and what volume - and I have to say I couldn't tell any difference between the light levels and sound levels on the '10 minute warning' and the final alarm light and sound. Might be worth looking at one of the more expensive versions of this, as, I do much prefer to be woken this way than the various other alarm sounds available on clocks and small electronics.[/original review]

Great light alarm at a great price
Completely changed how I feel waking up in the morning. I use it as a silent light alarm to go with my phone alarm and I'm always woken up before my phone alarm shocks me awake and I feel refreshed rather than panicked by my other alarm. Also a lot cheaper than some other bulb alarms I've used and the LEDs make me think this alarm will last longer too. Great alarm.
