Highly recommend this brand!
I purchased the 64 GB microSDXC card in April 2018 to use in my dash cam, and it has been performing flawlessly ever since. Even after years of continuous use, it shows no signs of issues or slowdown. The storage capacity is perfect for recording high-quality video without worrying about running out of space. Overall, this microSDXC card has proven to be reliable and durable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone needing dependable storage for their devices.

An essential card for film-making and photography with a DSLR
I purchased this card a couple of days ago for film-making and photography, originally as a backup SD card for my DSLR, but now I'd probably consider the Samsung EVO Plus 64gb as one of my two primary cards: matching evenly with my Sandisk Extreme. When searching for a card which would be capable in filming with Ultra HD (4K) resolution, I found that the Sandisk Extreme models (standard size SD card) of the same calibre as this card were up to seven pounds more expensive for the 64gb capacity; whereas this micro SD card is just as perfectly suitable for filming in 4K when used with the included SD card adaptor. Furthermore, users of DSLRs have often complained that the write speeds of the Sandisk Ultra cards, which are at the same price level as this product: are usually suitable until the card reaches around 80% capacity - where many have reported noticeable slowing down of writing pictures to the card: an issue that is completely eliminated by the high read and write speeds of this card. In conclusion, this card is lower priced than its competitors of the same quality and write speeds, and is ideal for use in even a professional camera for 4K filming and extensive photographic use in the field. Much recommended buy for anyone in need of a full-size SD card - by use of the included adaptor.

Fast MicroSD card but doesn't perform quite as well in Samsung's S9+
This review is of the Samsung 128GB EVO Plus U3 MicroSD card as there's quite a massive variety of them out there now, and not all are created equal. I have purchased this MicroSD card to go with my new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S9+. So, I have bought many Samsung MicroSD cards in the past and every time they've always arrived in the vacuum sealed moulded plastic packets that are nearly impossible to open without scissors or a knife. This was the first time that wasn't the case.. a simple brown envelope with a small plastic case with the MicroSD card and adapter in and a piece of paper with the specs listed inside. For me this raised alarm bells as most of the 1 star reviews said that their SD card arrived in this format so I prepared myself for the worse. The first thing I did with the MicroSD card is stick it in my laptop and format it - if a card fails at this stage it's not normally a good start. It formatted perfectly without any issue, so I loaded up HWtestw to check the full advertised capacity of 128GB was available. HWtestw is a fairly old tool but it's simple to use and definitely works. It took the best part of 50 minutes to write and verify to this card, and as you can see in the photo it achieved a read speed of 81.3 MB/s and write speed of 74.6 MB/s which is actually pretty good. It's worth mentioning that the advertised 100 MB/s speed is often a theoretical maximum that is only normally achievable in an environment that doesn't represent realistic every day use. Next I used CrystalDiskMark to benchmark the card and again it achieved similar speeds to HWtestw, with a sequential read speed of 83.36 MB/s and 75.03 MB/s write. So for sequential reads and writes it's a fairly consistent result. The card doesn't perform so well on random read/writes but that is to be expected and it doesn't perform any better or worse than some of my other Samsung MicroSD cards. When you are storing videos, music or high resolution pictures to the card you will most likely be using the sequential read/write capabilities of the card opposed to fully random I/O. I was happy with the basic testing on my laptop so I then installed the card to my Samsung Galaxy S9+. The first thing I did then is format the card just to ensure that Android is happy with the file system. I then used AndroBench to benchmark the card, which yielded 74.51 MB/s sequential read and 45.92 MB/s sequential write. I must admit that the write speed is a lot lower than expected, compared to my laptop, by nearly 30Mb/s. I also saw similar speeds when using A1 SD Bench, although the read speed was slightly lower again at 63.60MB/s. These speeds are still really good but a little disappointing that the card doesn't perform quite as well in Samsung's flagship phone! The card clearly performs will in other devices, so it may well be a software/firmware issue with the phone, which may or may not be addressed at a later date. Still, the S9+ has 128GB onboard so I will be surprised if I even use the MicroSD card for the foreseeable future!

Decent storage, pity about Samsungs tablet I use it in.
Used for a new tablet and bought Samsung as the tablet is that brand. The storage card works fine, pity the tablet mucks about and seems to hide or erase stuff or else won't save to the card. Rather annoying. As usual the amount of storage is less than 128gb but only by a bit, (hence dropped a star) still over 100gb so that is fine. I deleted off all the guff then put on the card so I could use it in full. Pity their tablets aren't as user friendly. My idea was to save stuff from my pc onto the tablet (music and documents with some image files) as an extra backup. Plus being able to access the documents for use in libraries and archives away from home. The tablet doesn't make it easy. Plus won't open some file types. In conclusion, memory card is fine and works ok, but getting it to be 'compatible' with a Samsung tablet .... well be careful what you try and store to it. I wouldn't rely on their tablets being any sort of back up. Luckily it isn't my only backup.

Genuine Samsung product (detailed test results)
As always when I buy a USB drive or an SD card online, I ran a test suite on reception of the item. They confirmed a capacity of 119.25GB (which is normal for a 128GB SD module). The writing speed was in the right range at 15MB/s but may be underestimated due to the adapter I have had to use to plug it in. The reading speed was around 1.3 GB/s. Aesthetically, the card is well finished (clear printing, solid white plastic) and came with a Samsung branded microSD/SD adapter. It arrived in a small unbranded plastic case (the "Amazon special packaging" I imagine). This seems to be a genuine Samsung product. At £20 this is a great deal. I was careful to buy this item from the sellers called "Samsung" with a legit-looking store. I cannot guarantee you'd get a genuine product with other sellers. Note that the fact that it is fulfilled by Amazon is *irrelevant*, it is the seller that matters. Technical detail ============ I used the linux tool f3 to check the capacity and performance of the card: $sudo f3probe /dev/sdc --destructive --time-ops ``` F3 probe 6.0 Copyright (C) 2010 Digirati Internet LTDA. Fast Access, Great Price
I needed a micro SD card for my new 2-in-1 laptopt / tablet as it came with a ridiculously small onboard hard drive. I use the card to store all my files etc leaving the hard disk for operating system and apps. It was an absolute minefield when I actually started looking at cards - who knew there were so many options? In the end I went with this one as it seemed to have good reviews for file access speed and price - and it's worked out really well. I've had no problems at all with the card and don't notice any sort of access speed lag etc that I was worried about. Samsung is a well recognised brand, and I'm a big fan having most of my media equipment being Samsung. This card is no exception and lives up to their high standard products.

It corrupted a file. The other 10000 were ok.
Seemed to run ok. Bought two and gave one to my brother for his mobile phone, that's been working ok so far. Used mine to store an old drive backup for a friend. Copying everything went fine... Then I plugged it into my laptop SD slot and nothing appeared. Checked it on another machine - it was ok. So for some reason my SD slot will no longer read the card, annoying but meh. Copied the contents a few weeks later onto another machine and near the end a file wouldn't copy, halted the copying process and started throwing an I/O error. I copied the rest, formatted it, the error didn't come back during testing but I'm keeping my eye on it. EDIT: March 2024 - I stuck it in a smartphone, connected it to my PC and loaded it with about 50GB of music files and videos. Apart from a few album removals/replacements and the phone's photos/videos, it's been more reads than writes. The smartphone gets plugged into an amp and used weekly, sometimes heavily. I haven't checked every file for damage but the albums I play the most are all playing fine. Review upgraded to 5 stars as no more errors appeared (no music has corrupted or stopped playing) and I didn't think these cards would last this long! :)
