Product Description Tongmaster premium British natural hog sausage casings skins, cooking too quickly or putting in a very hot pan can also make the skins burst. As a rule fill by 2/3rds as they will expand over night and when cooking. These casings are perfect for home sausage making. Hog sausage casings are supplied salted to preserve them and give a longer shelf life. Perfect for a large breakfast sized sausage. Available in 26 meter length by 34/38 mm diameter. Ingredients INGREDIENTS: Natural Hog Casing, Salt Directions We recommend natural skins should be soaked in fresh cold water for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight for best results. Review: Very impressed - I used to buy my skins from two uk online retailers, but this weekend had a whim to make some sausages and decided to give these a go as I could get them delivered the next day. I am really impressed with the quality of these, they felt better going onto the piping nozzle, fed off easier and just seemed a bit more durable. I have just dried up two sausages (for quality purposes;-) ) and they browned up very evenly and again just seemed to come better. I certainly will be using them from now on.

**Q: How much meat do I need to fill all the 26m of casing?**
A: Hi difficult to be precise, but one strip would do about 3kg of meat, depending on thickness of sausage required. Remember because these are salted they will last a long time either in the fridge or frozen. Make sure you soak them at least 24 hours before use. Also temper your meat before mincing it gives a better product. Merry Christmas and I hope that helps.

**Q: Hi is this an animal product? If so which animal? Isnt this the intestines of the cow or sheep or is this man made? Am confused**

**Q: Should the packet be sealed on arrival?**
A: Yes it should. Needs to be refrigerated on arrival and is packed in salt to preserve.

A: Wouldn't use hot water but certainly soak for 24 hours in cold water until pliable.

I bought it for make traditional sausages at home . It is good quality not very thin and very convenient for yourself handmade. I have made perfect sausage. The only downside is the package difference with the pictures display in website.
