Good, keeps visitors out.
The media could not be loaded. If you have visitor neighbour cats and want to keep them out, this is the model you want. The cheaper model only has a microchip latch on the inside, a smart cat will simply paw the flap outwards. This model has a latch on the outside as well as the inside, thus stops them pawing it open.My cat manages to use it fine, and he’s not the smartest cat going. Looks sturdy, not too worried about the neighbours cat physically braking it.Minor criticism, there is a bit of an air gap around the top of the flap, might let a draft in winter.

Fantastic product for a multi-cat household
This is a fantastic product. It doesn't just stop any non-authorised cats coming in, the dual scan function allows you to control which ones can go out too - very useful in a multi-cat household. We've been using it for 3 months to allow our adult cat free access in and out of the house without allowing our new kittens to follow him!The unit is quick and simple to install, and fitted the hole made for the old cat flap. The programming options are extensive, and easy to operate with the clearly-worded manual. It has several modes, including vet mode and safety mode. I've set up the safety mode option for the 3 new kittens so that if they do accidentally get out, they can all get back in again. You can programme in up to 12 cats. My partner tells me this is not a challenge and that I should be happy with 4...This cat flap is battery powered, unlike other makes I've used before, so you have no issues with trailing cables, or if there is a power cut. The manufacturers suggest testing the battery regularly, and changing it yearly - I've set a reminder for myself to change the batteries every 6 months to avoid any problems.I've previously used PetPorte, which was good, but I ended up replacing twice because of non-specific faults which the (usually very helpful) customer service team couldn't resolve. At around £100 a time, it was becoming expensive. I'm glad to have found this Sureflap cat flap as an alternative, and am likely to be purchasing a second one for the other door in the not too distant future.

life saver!
for years, other cats simply didn't try it on to go through my cat flap, but then, one day, a new cat came to the neighborhood, and they were robbing every house on the street from what I heard from other neighbors. the second that happened, it became a watershed, other cats starting doing the same thing. my small cat was shivering with fear upstairs every time he heard the cat flap go. Well we can't have this. I knew he had a chip, tried a cheaper option which didn't recognise the chip, and so spent the big bucks on this more premium model. Never looked back and everyone sleeps soundly. Detects just fine, battery power lasts about a year, and no more intruders. for weeks I could see the beasties trying to get in, but to no avail. what a gratifying sight. don't live in fear. keep them kitties out!

Simplicity itself and only a whisker away from purfection (I'll get my coat)
We purchased this catflap to protect our not terribly brave pussycat from the advances of the local bullies and it has so far worked admirably in this role. The design and build quality of the main unit is fantastic and a huge step up from our previous Staywell model. I don't often give much thought to the appearance of such things but it does look smart rugged and well constructed. It operates from 'AA' batteries and has so far worked for about 6 months on the original set.Setup - I struggled a little to install this as our catflap is through an extremely thick wall which necessitated the use of the glass/wall add on pack (about £10), unlike the actual unit this is a flimsy piece of plastic and doesn't hold very tight. It works but I'm not impressed. Best to consider your options if this is for a masonry wall or glass door. Fitting for a regular door looks pretty easy. Adding your cat to the system is incredibly easy, our little fleabag was microchipped by the RSPCA and we simply needed to press the button on the Cat Flap and then coax him towards it. Job done, from then on it recognises him when he gets close and the catch is released. What I liked - The door is strong and has prevented enemy felines from entering despite a fair amount of head bashing. The setup process is clean and simple. What I didn't like - There isn't a way to allow all cats to exit. We had a cat sneak in at one point and it was then unable to get out and went berserk! Not fun. Also, the batteries fly out of the compartment when fitting them. Finally my first unit was faulty, but that's just anecdotal, the replacement has worked flawlessly.
