Nintendo Switch 500-042 Light Up Dock Shield by PDP

We bought this for our 14 year old son to put on his Nintendo Switch dock. He begged, and we relented....he got the Zelda/Mario Odyssey plates.So...the worst part of this is removing the blue protective film from both sides of each plate. Thanks to the other reviewers for the statements about the film! Nowhere on the box or instructions does it say that there is a film that must be removed.I was able to remove the film easily from one side of each plate. The remaining sides were much more difficult. The easy sides...I simply went to a corner and raked my nail over it and it pulled up a tiny bit, but enough to remove the film. The more difficult sides...I started out using my nails, to no avail. After about 5 minutes of trying to remove the remaining blue film on each plate, I grabbed my cuticle clippers and opened them up. I then very gently raked the point of one side of the clippers over a corner, and by some miracle, it worked! You will NOT get the colors until you remove the blue film off of both sides of each plate.Even though the film is difficult to remove, I still gave this 5 stars. (They should provide a tab to pull the film off of each side - that's the only way this product could be made better) Once you get the film off, the colors show up beautifully. It is very easy to install and very easy to set your color or to set it on revolving color. Our son is happy and thus, we are happy.You won't be disappointed in this product. It's well worth its price!

Cool accessory for the Switch dock. You can choose between 2 different plate designs and several different colors. The dock sits on top of the light up base and you plug the device into the usb connection on the back of the Switch dock to power it. This device lights up even with the Switch powered off and without the Switch console in the dock. As long as the dock is plugged into a power connection and the dock shield is plugged into the dock via USB, it will power on.There is also a strobe light effect which quickly cycles through every color, which is mainly just to show off the dock shield. The dock shield likely uses very little electricity due to it being connected to USB and due to the lights being LEDs.Do note that the face plates come with a film on them to protect them from scratches. You might have to use a finger nail to peel them off starting at the corners but they do come off. The protective film is likely to prevent scratching and fingerprints during the manufacturing / packing process.Overall, it's a great device and it's fairly cheap. I paid around $16. It adds a little extra flair to the dock with or without the lights turned on. It's also an official Nintendo licensed product which is reassuring of the quality.

I was quite impressed by this product. At $20 I was expecting it to be worse than the pictures, or feel cheaply made, but neither seem to be the case. The stand looks great and feels like it was put together well enough.I found someone on Etsy that makes more panels for these so I ordered a few of those as well. I also have the Pokemon set from PDP on the way. The PDP ones are nicer than the ones I got on Etsy (waaay more fingerprint resistant) but it's great to have the custom ones for my favorite games.I only have two suggestions:1. I wish the unit was a little shorter. I feel like they could have found a way to decrease it's height more. Not a huge deal though.2. PDP should make more panels! Like I said I found someone selling custom ones on Etsy, but the PDP panels are nier and I would like more options from them.

One of the best purchases I have made for my switch!It's VERY easy to set up. You literally place your switch's base on top and plug in the short USB cord into the back, or there are extra USB slots on the side of your switch base if you prefer that. I plugged my USB into the slot next to the HDMI and power cord so it was tucked away with no extra wires showing. I mainly bought this for the Zelda faceplate, and do not care much for the Super Mario faceplate. You also have an option of a couple different modes, as well as colors.My ONE complaint is that the blue film that protects the faceplates from any scratching (while in transit, I'm guessing) is REALLY hard to take off. I had to sit there for a minute and basically scratch at it to get it off. You can always leave it on, but it gives a blue tint to the colors.Definitely worth the money to buy this! It gives a neat little touch to any set up.

This light for the Nintendo Switch dock is very cool! It comes with 2 screens- Zelda & Mario Odyssey. It has multiple color lights and different light modes- solid, flashing, revolving. Nintendo hasn't come out with that many dock options so this is a great way to personalize your Switch. It also stays on even if you turn off your Switch if you have the power cord connected to the dock. The only downside is that it's very difficult to get the blue plastic off of the screens. Still Highly Recommend!

The media could not be loaded.  El envío como siempre adecuado sin demoras y protegido.Excelente para los que les gusta iluminación, se adaptan adecuadamente a su entrada, tiene una especie de luz led, el material es plástico si bien no es de excelente calidad cumple muy bien su función dando un buen aspecto a tu dock.Tiene 3 botones el cual es el de encendido y apagado (manual), el siguiente elige el color y el último realiza cambios a modo de presentación de luz.Su alimentación es por USB, trae su cable (5cm de largo) y se puede conectar sin problemas al dock dando la energía suficiente para que funcioneLo malo... Realmente es ya muy exigente sería que fuere más smart el encendido y apagado.Colocar un cable más largo en caso de que quieras colocarlo en un lugar a modo decoración y no como accesorioEspero que la tienda saque más modelos.
