This is an excellent item. DO NOT pay attention to the bad reviews!
I got this after that crazy heatwave in the summer (2017) since during that week all fans were emptied from the shelves across the country! :D After looking through many MANY different fans, I thought this was a good one, but I saw soooooo many mixed reviews that I really didn't know what to expect. But, knowing that my money is safe with Amazon, I ordered this for £45, which is way better than the cheaper version (£35) without a remote control. I mean, it even had a twisting spring timer instead of buttons! (FFS, what is this, the 1950s?!). As visible from the pictures, this one has a very nice sleek interface on the top. It came very well packaged (as expected) and took hardly any time to assemble. It LITERALLY had 2 plastic half-plates and one screw to affix to the bottom! Anyone with a modicum of COMMON SENSE could assemble that in a minute, yet some people were crying on the comment section on how it's not doable (it even came with an instruction manual FFS!) or how the wire goes underneath and makes it unsteady (HOW STUPID ARE SOME PPL!?! SMH). My guess is that these people have problems putting their pants on the right way and are phased by things 5 year old do easily. Anyhoo... The item works perfectly (both for a big room and a living room), and after that heatwave (where it was around 35 in London) I haven't used the high setting anymore. The low setting is absolutely fine for low 20s temperatures, and hardly makes a sound (the high setting does, but in that kind of heat the last thing you care about is your fan making some noise). It has sleep and nature modes as well, which I personally didn't see a need to use. It has a great stylish timer which can be set for 0.5 hr up to 7.5 hrs in 0.5 hr intervals. And obviously, and oscillating function too. P.S. Naturally, ss a tower fan it has pros and cons compared with a traditional standing fan. It makes a bit more sound (but hardly worth thinking about) but is more compact and stylish.

Great.
Good value for the money. I like that you can set it for an hour or more and it will automatically turn off when that time is reached. Different speed settings and has a remote. It’s not too noisy. Just what I needed during this very hot weather.

Value for money, budget friendly fan.
I was moving house in 30° heat and needed some thing for the new lounge. It makes a reasonable amount of noise but it was also one of the cheaper fans, so I expected it to. Assembled it in ten seconds and it was on. Batteries are not included for the remote, which takes 3 x AAA's. The oscillation would be better if it covered a wider angle, but it's perfectly adequate for a smaller-medium sized room. Nice and light when moving it around. Good power on the fan. A good few setting options. Good value for money as far as I'm concerned.

so good worth the money
Why did you choose this product over others?: fan is amazing. a little louder than I thought but still slept through it. the box said 7hr time but it only has top 4hr time. but that fine. look great the fan is so powerful I've got to move it further down the bedroom. very happy with it. so good I had to turn it off as it felt like a tornado in the room and I was getting cold

Perfect for a heatwave!
Why did you choose this product over others?: Excellent! This has 6 settings, 3 still and 3 rotating. I initially had this on my bedside table on the lowest setting but it was too much so had to move it about 4 feet away - the breeze is perfect. Will be buying one for the living room now.

Second satisfied purchase.
I bought my first one 3 years ago and found it so helpful a week or so ago during the heatwave that I decided to buy another in advance of the bigger heatwave that's forecast in a few days time. Having two means I don't need to carry the tower downstairs if I need it, but it's not hard to carry. It's not too heavy, there's an indentation at the back that works as a handle, and the remote control has a storage slot too. The fan definitely cools our large attic bedroom down if I put it on for an hour on top speed, in oscillation mode, before bedtime. Then I have it on low for half an hour pointed in my direction to get me cool enough to sleep. I can't sleep when it's warm, and although the fan doesn't make it 'aircon cold' it's cool enough. In extreme temperatures it helps if I dampen the bedsheet and then point the fan in my direction. I tend to use the remote control rather than the timer function, out of laziness, but both work fine and provide a lot of flexibility. High speed is noisier than low, obviously. I have fallen asleep with it on high, but others may prefer it lower. The remote needs 2 x AAA batteries (not provided, unless I missed them in the packaging). The base comes in two parts that slot together - no tools needed. It arrived in manufacture packaging which worked fine. The 1.75 metre power cord is adequate for me. Amazon said it was next day delivery and tracked it as such the next day saying it would be delivered by 8pm. But it was delivered by DPD not Amazon, and it arrived a day later than Amazon said it would. DPD provided updates on their app and were accurate in their tracking, and the seller responded to my query about delivery in good time with an apology for the difference in tracking info.

Good but very loud
I already have 2 tall Ansio fans so decided to go for the same brand when I wanted to get a smaller fan for my kitchen. It's a good fan in terms of it blowing enough air to keep you cool. But it is very loud. Much louder than my tall fans that I have. I also don't like the way you have to turn it on as it's hard to do with one hand and I often find myself having to hold the fan with one hand and rotate the control with the other. Definitely not ideal if you want it, like me, for the kitchen and won't always have 2 free hands to turn it on with. I'm not sure why they decided to go with this design and I think that putting buttons on the top, like their other fans, would have been a much better idea.
