Amateur DYI use, to install vents in concrete shed, due to poor ventilation and mould risk Just got around to using this product with my new Makita cordless SDS+ drill. It cut through a solid concrete brick wall in about 15-minutes. The key is to let the drill and bit do the work and do not apply too much pressure...and always turn off the hammer function and set it to drill mode, as others have likely said. Perfect clean cut, drill guide hole from the inside of the structure to the exterior, then use that to guide you back from the outside, as it is a very very dusty job. Face mask, eye protection and eye defenders are a must. No damage to plaster work if you take your time. Little wear on the drill bit itself and I expect I will get years out of it. Would recommend.

I bought this 152mm x 150mm core drill bit set to go through a standard brick wall [Rennie Tool Company]. It took me over an hour just to drill into one set of bricks using a heavy-duty 1100W drill.The tool arrived with absolutely NO manual, NO setup guide, and NO speed or safety instructions in the box. This is highly irresponsible for a massive industrial tool of this size.After struggling, I sent it back as "performance not as described" and called out a professional contractor to finish the job [Rennie Tool Company]. The contractor used a much smaller 800W drill with a quality bit and went through the exact same wall in less than 10 minutes.

Excellent item and brilliant value for money

I ordered a set of four components and received only three of them ! The tool is missing the middle centring guiding drill beat !!

Cut through perfectly, used a SDS drill with it , very impressive great value for money, only needed to cut the one hole through a cavity wall hard brick , the drill bit still looked good for cutting more holes so very pleased .

Very well made and an excellent tool but you do need a heavy duty drill.

152mm - Returned as went blunt after just 2 holes. Had to finish job by drilling and chisel

Drilled a very neat 152mm hole and a 150 mm vent pipe was a snug fit. You need a suitable drill with a safety clutch.
