Brilliant sketch book
Brilliant sketch book. Smooth, thick paper which is great for graphite drawing! Very strong and will take rough use (erasers etc). Not really suitable for watercolour although you may get away with a light wash!

far better than other brands instantly at first glance
You can tell that Moleskine Sketchbooks are made far better than other brands instantly at first glance. The bindings are sturdy, the hard covers are protective, and the pages are a fantastic quality. The overall look is professional. I have not painted in this sketchbook yet, but have heard only good things. I do wish the price was a little cheaper, but I understand because of the quality. I think this would be a great gift for any teens or young adults studying a creative subject.

Moleskine, always great quality!
Moleskine is always great quality. This sketchbook didn't disappoint. Great quality paper that can take water if you want to paint on it, even though it is smooth. I use it for normal sketches and sketches with water-soluble graphite and sometimes watercolour. It's smooth paper but it can take it. I also now have the Moleskine watercolour sketchbook which I look forward to using. Great price here for Moleskine too, you get what you pay for.

Lovely watercolour book
I bought this for my daughter who was doing an art course at the time. It was good quality, ideal for the intended purpose.

Nothing special
Much prefer the Daler Rowney Ebony sketchbooks. I brought this after it being suggested to me to try, and while it has some nice gimmicks like rounded corners, a finders reward page, and a built-in envelope in the back, the book didn't live up to my expectations with quality for its intended purpose as a sketchbook. The paper was too thin, and every so often I'd come across sections of the book where the pages were stuck together too far out of the gutter, making me have to try and peel them away for eachother, which obviously resulted in sticky, crumpled pages. Also the hardback cover materials were fairly thin and too flexible for my liking, and were that kind of material that gets patches of odd black lumps and stuff on it when it has been kept in a bag for a long time. It was an ok product. Nothing special.

Nice but overpriced
I've had a Moleskine sketchbook before but I used it for notetaking. I thought it was overpriced after getting it and couldn't understand the hype. And honestly, my opinion has stayed the same. It's no different from any other notebook, it's just sleek in material and very sturdy. The cover doesn't bend, which is nice for keeping your notes in-tact but the difference between buying a regular notebook and Moleskine is small.I bought this for sketching and it works fine. The pages are a pale, warm cream colour, not yellow like some have stated. Pencils work well on it and stay sharp and while my Copic markers work on this paper, it absorbs so much ink I can tell that it will make me need to replace them much more quickly than I should. Also, watercolour makes the paper buckle badly so I don't use it on this. I use the Moleskine for sketching and planning alone and that works fine by me.Overall, I like it, but the high price isn't very justifiable.

I Like It
Moleskine paper is distinctive. The color is off-white - a very lovely ivory, which I prefer because it gives art warmer vibes while maintaining a good contrast. And its texture is silky smooth, making colored pencils simply flow onto the paper (to me, the texture in particular is what makes this worth getting). I had used their plain cahiers for sketching before because they are less expensive, but this experience is different; getting a dedicated sketchbook makes life easier and provides better versatility (paper thickness does count!). Ink doesn't bleed through, and the paper has just the right degree of opacity to be able to use both sides comfortably.

This is a nice sketchbook
I used this very often as I start most of my drawings on paper and switch over to my tablet and I can highly recommend this sketchbook for sketching.I used inking brushes, pen brushes and copic markers on it and it held up pretty well with the ink and pen but the copic was not that forgiving. I may have pressed a bit too hard on the pages but it went through. The copic bled through the page.Overall, this is a good sketchbook and you have plenty of room to sketch.
