Denby Imperial Blue Dinner Plate 26.5 cm

These were not cheap plates but I personally think that they are well worth the cost. They are solid and quite a heavy plate so maybe be less suitable for younger diners. They are certainly not seconds as I can see no faults on the four I purchased. Once warmed they hold the heat well. They make even my cooking look lovely. The only con I have found is that I now want to replace the rest of my mix and match crockery from over 40 years with more of the great design and make.

There's not much to add to the previous reviews really; these plates do a good job of combining a classy finish with everday durability, being happy to survive considerable knocks and regular dishwasher cycles. The one thing to bear in mind is their weight; they're pretty heavy so perhaps not ideal for those with grip strength problems. That aside, buy them during the regular half price offers and you've got a bargain.

I was looking for a good quality dinner service that would be suitable both for everyday use and also look great for the odd dinner party and the Denby blue set fitted the bill nicely. All of the items in this set look great both individually and together as a set.Each item is solid, sturdy and feels very good quality. I am usually careful with my plates but have on a couple of occasions knocked them when loading them into the dishwasher or putting them back into the cupboard. They have not chipped or cracked despite one particularly heavy handed incident and they still look as good as new.I love the intense outer blue colour at the edge of this plate; it is somewhere between Royal Blue and navy.This outer colour contrasts beautifully with the pure, brilliant white of the main part of the dinner plate. Being white means the plate always looks clean and hygienic. It also allows the food to `speak' for itself allowing you to easily see the different shapes, colours and textures.Pros:* good quality - feels heavy and sturdy* The plate has a decent depth which means that it will easily contain sauces and gravies without them spilling over the edge* intense blue outer colour and contrasting edge, white inner colour* gold coloured edging sets off the difference between the two colours* dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe* can be purchased individually meaning that you can build your set up slowly as finances allow. Also, you can but the exact number you need* the plates stack well in the cupboard. They also stack well with the smaller salad plate in the set.* many other items you can buy to individualise your set e.g. place mats, salt & pepper pots, glasses etc - all the colours co-ordinate really well.Cons:* the weight shows the quality but if you are carrying a number of these they can be heavy* for a dinner plate, at the full price, these are more expensive than many others on the market

I had to get a couple of new plates and bowls to replace broken ones from my 27 year old Denby set. These plates and bowls are off great quality and you can hardly tell the difference from the 27 year old plate and the new plate

Lovely plates , good quality and perfect debt if you have sauces on the plate. That’s Denby for you.

Have just received my plates. I must commend the fast delivery and the super quality. I can't tell if they are seconds or not as they are exactly the same as the rest of my dinner service. The free delivery made a difference too.

I was a little on concerned about the dishes arriving in one piece from that far away. I had no need to be concerned. Everything was well packed and arrived on one piece we'll ahead of schedule.

These plates were totally different from our original set. Was so disappointed. The rims are bigger, the color lighter. Could not believe the seller fooled us! Would never buy again!
