Not a lot you can say about an item like this, works as expected, doesn't get hot like some do so should last a long time, it has been fine so far.

Handy size, just what I need, but it does smell a bit funny when it’s been turned on for some time - Not sure if it’s because it’s new….. Time will tell.

Wanted an extension lead without switches best value for money

I've been in the electronic industry for 40 years, and have always been a bit skeptical about these cheap Surge Protectors.Last night 6th September 2024 we had the worst Thunderstorm I've ever seen in the Gower/Wales. Lightning and Thunder for about 2-3 hours.Then we got struck very near by (230vac is supplied via Telegraph poles), our fuse box tripped and the house went into total darkness.In trying to rest the master RCD (Residual Current Device) breaker, it kept tripping. So after turning off all the breakers and back on again one by one, I isolated where the problem was.I eventually found it was this Extension Lead on my computer which has a "MOV" Surge Protector inside.MOVs are placed inside the surge protector to "absorb" any excess voltage and then act as a "shunt" resistor to divert the excess current to the ground.So when we got struck by lightning near by it dividend the excess voltage to ground and tripped the RCD in the fuse box and saved everything (Computers, printer, dishwasher, washing machine anything with electronics inside) !Well apart from the Extension lead, which did its job.So, I need a new extension lead, definitely buy the same one again.
