Great product.
I've bought a similar item to this in the past, so I knew roughly what to expect. However, these were a gift for someone else so wasn't sure how good they were until they opened this and tried it.Firstly, this comes part charged - which is fantastic as we all know how boring it can be waiting for something to charge before using it.Secondly, the blades are really clean and sharp. There is no guard against the blades, but I would think that only adults would be using this, and hopefully would be aware of blade safety. The instructions are clear and the interchangeable part is easy to swap over. Finally, the battery life is pretty decent for a small power tool this size. It will happily chop hedges for around an hour before dying. If you plan your chores well, you can have it charging whilst you stop for a caffine break and work on something else.Very happy with this product. The price was reasonable and it does exactly what I want it to, giving hedges a lovely finish. Thanks!

handyman tool
Great product for small jobs, not strong enough or powerful enough to cut thick branches and can get jammed if you do. However in saying that if you have nice neat garden this is the ideal hedge trimmer, lightweight and easy to use, battery lasts a nice time as well.

Functionally very good and easy to use however safety not what I would expect.
Functionally the trimmer does what it was describe to do and is very convenient to use, light and sufficient power. However there are a few points where the safety of the design could be improved and the user needs to observe caution.1. The trigger lock is not marked to show whether it is in the lock or enable position, you have to test it by trying the trigger. A simple colour coding of the slider ends would make the setting clear. The lock slider does not notch into position so is easy to knock out of position.2. The first time I changed the blade I had a problem:a) It was not immediately obvious from the arrow (fig 3.1) that the lug had to be lifted and not depressed inorder to unlatch the black cover.b) When new the black plastic cover was initially stiff so that when it did slide it suddenly come off and the blade fell out so I did not see how it had been initially positioned.c) In fig 5 there is no advice that the two lugs at the end opposit the blades have to be fitted into two recesses in the handle.d) Refitting the blade is fiddly the first time so for safety ensure you do not knock the trigger lock permitting inadvertent starting of the cutter.e) The trigger lock enables the trigger when pressed either left or right, and the trigger can be left enabled if this slide is not deliberately positioned in the central position. I wonder if this is a fault on my trimmer as sometimes when the trigger is released the lock does position itself to the safety position.

As good as brand name products almost twice the price
Having previously owned a very similar brand named product that failed after only two seasons I was not prepared to pay £60 again for a machine that would probably have an equally hard life.My initial thoughts were that this deal seemed too good to be true but the converse is very much the case and the un-named cordless trimmer is as good in every way as its dearer cousin.I use it primarily for edging my small lawn rather than fighting with a corded strimmer and the 35-40 minute charge enables me to fully complete the task. The gentle action of the sharp blades of the smaller cutter is almost theraputic and it does an excellent job. This machine is also highly effective for trimming small box hedges and my wife, who has arthritis in her right hand, has shown that it will suit the elderly or those with a mild disability. At this point I would add that delivery only took a couple of days from ordering. All in all, a good buy and one that I highly recommend.Update as at 3rd August 2017.The trimmer has had a very hard life over the last three years and proved every bit as good as was hoped when I posted my original review. Although it is still working, the battery life has very recently dropped a bit and the blades have been blunted by my hitting stones around the lawn edges. Therefore, I have just purchased the same machine again which was delivered ahead of schedule by Amazon's in-house courier. I am glad to confirm that the new trimmer works extremely well and some minor modifications have actually improved its effectiveness. Therefore, I recommend the product once more which still remains something of a bargain.

price and quality
Very handy and timesaving m/c for very light work.Like grass cutting where it's akward getting to with main mower andtrimming of small bushes/flowers.Blade changing do-able but a bit fiddly and not easy if you have "stiff"fingers and arthritis. This latter goes for finger control of the switches too.Bottom cover is very tight fitting and needs a light knock to remove. Then a light forceful tap either side is needed to refit it without disturbing the internal blade alignment. These negatives maybe bearable considering its low price compared to the pricey top brands.

Broke within 2 minutes
Terrible build quality. Not fit for purpose. I was using the hedge trimmer to trim a small decorative bush at the front of the house. Bought specifically for this. Jammed within 2 minutes of using it and will no longer works. Absolutely shocking build quality. Definitely won't recommend. If I could give 0 stars I would.Won't accept return as I'm just outside the 30 days.

A useful garden trimmer
I am very happy with the trimmer. It is light and easy to use. It leaves the other hand free to grasp the foliage. There is a slight risk of cutting yourself. It is economically priced, and as far as I can tell, just as good as other makes costing far more.
