W** A: Beware, the photo for this item is not the item you'll receive. Look at the item # 3196R. I have an older pair also which I got from BB&B years ago. I went to get another pair, and these are what they are selling now. So I came to amazon searching for an identical pair to what I have. I ordered this based off the photo - it's not the same. My old pair has "TWEEZERMAN FINISHED IN USA" this new pair has "TWEEZERMAN STAINLESS" printed on the joint. My old pair is a lap joint, this one is a box joint. The main difference though, although they are the same size the newer version feels much smaller in hand and the jaws don't open up very much. I thought I'd gotten the 1/4 they felt so small, but no - these are half jaw. The spring mechanism is different now, and prevents the jaws opening more than 2mm.I'm still searching, it's very frustrating however to realize all the vendors on amazon are using the wrong photo for item# 3196-R **Q: Made in India?** A: Yes, all Tweezerman products are made in India. **Q: ow long is the whole thing? I've seen some 4 in ones, which feel big, and smaller ones that are maybe 3 inches. Is this comfortable to hold? Thanks!** A: I have a 4" one and love it. It does a perfect job on our hangnails! The common problems with other designs have varied from poor construction, e.g. the blades don't even line up exactly (Boots); the spring being weak or 'sticky' i.e. not smooth in operation; to the tip bending/blunting when I have dropped them onto the bathroom tiled floor (my fault admittedly...)These came with a protective sheath over the blades, so no more accidental tip damage if they fall off the cupboard shelf!! Great smooth action, precision blades offering clean, sharp cuts.
