Had to stop using chlorhexidine mouthwash, to see if I was having a bad reaction to it. Since doing so, and trying UltraDex, my gums have settled down, so maybe I was reacting to chlorhexidine? It's still unclear and after attempting to research which mouthwashes have chlorhexidine or not, I think the ambiguity in the guidance provided by a lot of these health product brands is CRIMINAL - regardless, UltraDex has been fine so far and leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh - it's absolutely flavourless, which I like a lot... And there is no tingling/burning sensation that you get with a lot of these mint flavoured/chlorhexidine mouthwashes.

I had never heard of this stuff before but decided to give it a try after noticing it was the no.1 best seller above all the standard stuff you find in supermarkets. 100% Satisfied that this is in a different league to other mouthwashes on the market. I can't really offer anything extra over and above the same comments made in previous reviews. It absolutely works and if used twice a day will remove bad breath consistently. A few points to note: 1) This will not remove bad breath caused by eating garlic etc. These smells are not caused by bacteria or sulphur so your best best is dark chocolate or an apple (apparently). 2) I have only given the product 4 stars; this has nothing to do with the product itself but more the fact that a quick search on google will show you that you can pick this up significantly cheaper elsewhere. This product is one of those ones where you assume it's cheapest because it's Amazon but they are in fact selling at near double the common internet price. I am happy to pay a tiny bit more for my beloved next day delivery but I am sure there are a large number of people that care about the price they pay. 3) I love the fact that you can add your own mint flavouring to taste. It's the mouthwash equivalent of those old smiths crisps that came with a separate salt and shake pack. I can't comment on how well it "whitens" teeth but to be fair I have only bought this to keep my breath odour free so to be honest I don't care about any other benefit.

I was quiet skeptical when it came to buying my first bottle of Ultradex. How can this - which tastes no different to water - be one of the best mouthwashes on the market? I had previously been using mouthwashes from all sorts of competitors including Listerine, Sensodyne and Colgate but they all had one thing in common - your mouth would feel amazingly fresh immediately after using it but the 'bad breath' would kick in some time after a meal. Being a bestseller, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I decided to test out Ultradex when its price reached the lower end of the spectrum. The mouthwash arrived neatly packaged and was packed with a sachet containing mint flavoured liquid if you wanted to add some taste to the mouthwash. Ultradex is to be taken twice a day - once in the morning and before going to bed (generally after brushing). To prepare the recommended amount which you need to rinse with: fill ONLY the outer ring of the cap to just below the top - try not to get any liquid in the inner circle, and rinse away for 30 seconds. To my surprise, Ultradex did far more than I bargained for. Yes, I did notice whitening of my teeth although this was very subtle. However, I did not expect it to inhibit bad breath overnight so that I wake up with neutral breath, on top of giving me odourless breath throughout the day! That was when I realised what sets Ultradex apart from the rest - it doesn't just fight bad breath, it also destroys its cause i.e. the anaerobic oral bacteria and the smelly volatile sulphur compounds they produce. I first used Ultradex over a year ago and I haven't bought another brand since. Sometimes I use the mint sachet for flavouring, other times I don't, but I have barely noticed a difference in the mouthwash's effectiveness. This is really a product which you need to try to believe. From being a skeptic, I don't think I'll ever use another mouthwash again.

As someone who suffers from tonsil stones and a constant build up (despite tongue scraping daily) of smelly bacteria on the tongue this product is a god send! This product actually works. Usually if I rub my finger across the back of my tongue for a second or two, my finger will smell disgusting. Despite impeccable oral hygiene, no matter what I've tried and countless doctor visits, nothing has worked apart from this mouthwash. After using this product for 2 days now, my tongue does not smell at all and I notice considerable less build up of bacteria. The product recommends to use 2 x 15ml daily, once in the morning and once at night. I actually use just 2 x 10ml daily, as using 15ml I can barely swish round in my mouth. In addition, I go over the suggested mouthwash time of 30 seconds and swish for a couple of minutes. The taste isn't particularly great or bad... Imagine dirty stagnant water. Using the provided mint flavouring does help though. At £6.50 per 500ml (and that's discounted), it's quite expensive. If used with their recommended usages: 15ml x 2, it'll be gone in 17 days. 10ml x 2 = 25 days. To be honest, they probably suggest more than you need so it runs out quicker. A perfect buy for chronic bad breath sufferers... I'm gonna order another few bottles to last me the next few months.

Been using this mouthwash for years on an Amazon subscription. In terms of the product itself, it's excellent. No overpowering minty flavour to make you think your breath is fresher than it is. It does it's job, not by masking a smell but by eliminating the compounds in your mouth that cause bad, and it does it effectively. Unfortunately, in the last few months, they decided to update the packaging. They've clearly gone for a more eco friendly use of plastic but, what was previously a very sturdy bottle with a decent screw cap, enough so that you could confidently leave the bottle on its side in a draw, the new bottle it flimsy and if you try to tighten the cap, it doesn't take much to break it. Also, where previously, they had a small sachet of mint flavouring to make the flavour a little more pleasant (not to mask your bad breath), they're no longer including that. Whilst the product is no doubt still just as effective, it now tastes mildly unpleasant - and lets face it, we all like the flavour of minty fresh breath :) Anyway, to sum it up: A great product with a terrible packaging update.

The best mouthwash on the market. My partner had really bad breath, tried all the leading brands but they didn’t work, they’d wear off after a couple of hours. Tried this and it worked instantly and for 24 hrs. I’ve used it for years now and highly recommend it.
