Having used tampons for years I thought I they were the best option for "those days". I was wrong. A few weeks ago I booked a trip to Spain and soon after that I realised that my days in sunny Spain would also be 'those days'. I had been careful before, always checking the calendar before going ahead with certain plans. Now I had to think of something. Although tampons are ok, I have to be checking them quite often and always feel a bit uncomfortable knowing that the strings could show. Well, I decided to do some research and got to know more about the cups. I was sceptical initially but decide to bite the bullet and ordered a cup and a disc. After much consideration, I bought this organic cup due to its environmentally friendly approach. I wish I had tried it before, really. The main reasons I can think of now: • it feels luxurious to wear tight white trousers in your period, without any concerns. • no unpleasant feeling when seeing and smelling dirty pads on the toilet during the day. You won't smell 'period' when you use this cup! • no smelly underpants due to period • no tampon strings to hold to the side when peeing and no need to be concerned in case you forget to do that • you will know there's suction if you try to pull the cup and there's some resistance. This will give you the peace of mind that the cup is inserted properly and won't leak. • easy to remove. You pull a little bit the stem and pinch the base of the cup before pulling the cup by the stem again for removal. Good to know before buying it: • you may forget you're in your period! It's that good! And maybe this should be in the pros list. If you are forgetful like that, then just set an alarm to remove and wash the cup after 10/12 hours them reinsert it again. • you may buy a cup that can be too big. Try to get some information about it before purchasing it. There's a helpful YouTube channel called 'Put a cup in it'. You can answer a quiz to have an idea of the best size cup/disc for you. • you may feel it to be invasive at first, especially if you're not used to tampons. Just relax as you do at the gynecologist. It will become natural. You don't have to insert your finger any longer that you do when inserting a tampon. In the first days of your period you may use a reusable pad, if you want to keep being nice to the environment, or thin pads . Or maybe you opt for a mini cup and insert it as soon as you see the brown drops, just not to have to be changing pads. All in all, is a game changer that will prove to be more hygienic, practical and cheaper in the long term, apart from being a green option. I hope you will be as satisfied as I am.

I was recommended this cup from a colleague who gave top marks for it. She said she would never go back to sanitary pads or tampons again. When it arrived I was very skeptical and rightly so as I have two days of very heavy flow. I did find it weird at first-catching your cycle in a cup and emptying it. However I persevered. I found insertion a little awkward and uncomfortable when removing at first, as you have to make sure that the cups creates a suction which on the first attempted never happened, they do give instructions and tips on how to combat this (I won’t go into that) however i was unsuccessful with it at the time. I decided to use a pad as well for reassurance. About five mins later I checked and the cup had formed a suction all on its own, so I was like ok? I was so worried about leaking, I was checking and emptying every hour or so. But to my surprised no leakage. (About a quarter filled approx) I called my colleague the next day and said it seemed to be fine but I’m emptying this ‘thing’ as much as I would change my pads. She said to just leave it a few hours before checking, which I did, (now on day two) and found that there was leakage after 2 and half hour, max three. When emptying it wasn’t exactly full but over half which baffled me. I then done some research (google lol) and found that it could leak if, one the cup didn’t have a correct seal or two, the air holes get block, which would obviously build pressure causing your cycle to leak. The suction wasn’t the problem, so it left the issue with the air holes. So (sorry for the long review), I decided every 2 hours I would empty as my flow is very heavy. On the third day I was getting use to it and didn’t empty until 4 hours later as my flow gets lighter on the third day. I was used to the insertion, didn’t really bother with the instructions they gave. Just inserted ( Worked my pelvic floor muscles a few times and hey presto lol) I would say I will still need time to really get used to it as it is a massive change from the what you have be taught to use as a teenager but I think I can say it is a good product and worth trying. The only thing I would say is if you have a heavy flow like myself. You might Or might want to consider using your usual methods for dealing with your cycle because to be honest I think the first two days of emptying are not much different to changing your pad/tampon (for me that is) however I’m undecided for my next cycle lol (very confused female here). However the beauty of this product Is the fact that it is very hygiene friendly. Without sounding crude it’s a massive improvement on cleanliness due to your menstual cycle getting a little messy. It’s almost, like Your flow is encapsulated, if you understand what I mean. Anyway I would recommend it, I’m sure it won’t be to everyone’s liking but it’s worth a shot.

I'd been contemplating getting a menstrual cup for quite a while but always managed to talk myself out of it finding it easier to just keep sticking to what I knew. I finally bite the bullet though and decided to just give it a try when I had an Amazon voucher so I hadn't wasted as much money if I didn't get on with it. I had nothing to fear. I get on with it. Very much so! It did take a little bit of getting used to in the beginning, in fact the very first time I tried to insert my cup I gave up and continued to use a tampon instead. However I persisted and by the end of my first period I was doing pretty good. After using the cup exclusively for three periods I can confidently say that getting my cup in and out is a breeze. It really doesn't take long to master the technique. It's not only cheaper in the long run and a lot more environmentally friendly but I also find it to be more comfortable and offers me a piece of mind I never used to get with tampons and pads. I've used my cup whilst swimming on a number of occasions now too and I've never had any issues with it. It's comfortable to wear whilst sleeping, working, exercising etc. I've recommended this to just about every woman I know now and now my sister is an OrganiCup user too! If you're unsure whether to purchase this or not I'd recommend just going for it. I don't think you'll regret it.

I wanted to write a review that wasn't just based solely on it only being used once. I bought this product on the recommendation from work colleagues. Although it may seem pricey, it reaps the benefits in terms of spending money on sanitary products every month. On first application the instructions to insert are easy to follow. The first wear was great, hardly noticed I had it in and went about my day without having to change every few hours. Now....upon removal it proved more troublesome. I was panicking as I felt that it had moved upwards quite a bit. The key is to remain relaxed and, I'm not going to lie, it took me near enough an hour to remove. I looked at numerous YouTube videos which, although reitterated my fear, did not really help in terms of removing the cup. I eventually managed to remove it with the fear of using it again. Remaining calm is certainly the key and using your stomach muscles to push down so it moves to be able to gently pull on the stem. When I found myself panicking too much I left it another few hours and tried again as I felt I was getting myself in too much of a state. For me, removing it sitting on the toilet worked best for me but there are some guides in positions in the instructions that come with it. I have since used it again and I will be using it from now on. I used a different method this time. When inserting I felt, for me personally, I have not inserted it fully which may feel a bit uncomfortable but it soon moves into position itself throughout the day. I inserted just enough that the stem I could still feel near the end so that I have the comfort knowing I can pinch the base to remove with ease (in the removal instructions) but comfortable enough to wear clothes etc. Keeping it clean is also very easy. I clean it in the shower when I'm using it for the duration of my period. When finished I also boil it on the hob for a few mins so that it's sterile for my next use. It comes in a handy pouch to keep until next application. Overall I think it will get easier the more I use it and I do prefer it to sanitary products overall. Give it a go!!

I had wanted to try a cup for some time but was really unsure as to its effectiveness and comfort. As I'm trying very hard to improve my environmental footprint, I decided to give it a try. I have since not gone back to tampons and would recommend this to everyone. Yes, it can be a little tricky to get the hang of at first but the same goes for the first time you try to use tampons. There are really helpful instructions included with the cup itself as well as instructional videos on the website. I'd recommend trying it for the first time when you won't be in a rush and can give yourself some time to properly give it a go (avoid trying it for the first time when you need to get ready for work for example). Once you've got the hang of it it's honestly so easy! I was convinced I'd have leaks on the first day but if it's inserted correctly it forms a vaccum so simply can't leak. I had a running commentary in the group chat with my best mates as the 'brave pioneer' of the cup among us as to whether or not it had worked, was it uncomfortable etc and they are all now keen to try it too. I even wore it in a spin class and felt nothing! I've heard a couple of people say that they'd be too grossed out to deal with emptying it. My question is why on earth have we allowed ourselves to be conditioned to believe that our natural body systems are disgusting?! It's so easy to empty. It lasts for 12 hours so generally I only have to empty it morning amd evening when I'm at home anyway - I just tip it into to the loo, rinse it under the tap and pop it back in, it's really not a big deal. If I'm out, again I tip it into the loo and put it back in as rinsing isn't mandatory and I'm not at the stage where I'd consider rinsing it in full view of other people in the loos! When you get to the end of your period, it just needs to be put in water to boil for 4-5 minutes, then when it's completely dry it goes back into the cotton pouch supplied. I would very much recommend this product to everyone, I understand it can seem a little daunting but it's honestly so easy and the environment and your bank account will thank you!

OMG this product is amazing. I'm converted for life! I will never go back to tampons. Tampons used to shift down, smell bad. This does none of those things. I have really heavy periods, but only need to change this every 7 hours or so. On lighter days I can keep it in for 10 hours or more. I feel completely clean and fresh- much, much more so than with tampons. I used to use a towel as well with tampons but with this, I don't use anything as 'back up' as it keeps me so clean. Once towards the end of my period, I put it in overnight and didn't take it out until the afternoon the next day and it was fine. It's going to save me an absolute fortune over the years. This is such a better product than tampons but the brands who sell those single use items wouldn't want to mass produce this as it would mean that you never have to come back to buy their single use products. Say no to single use! Also- it does take a bit to get used to it. I even felt uncomfortable the first time. Do persevere- I found my groove with it, and now it's super easy. So much less to pack when I go away now as well- I used to have to bring tons of packets of different flow items, never knowing quite how many I'd need, so packed a few boxes. Now I can just take this one little thing!

Right then. I decided to go down the menstrual cup route as it was more Environmentally friendly and I didn't like the idea using Tampons anymore due to the amount of chemicals that are in them, and quite frankly, I didn't like having a tampon string dangling outside of body. Before I purchased the OrganiCup I spent hours trawling through U Tube looking at different reviews about which was the best cup to buy. I decided to buy the Organicup as quite a few experienced menstrual cup users said that they really liked it for a variety of reasons. However, they were ‘experienced’ and perhaps this is where I can’t get on with this cup. Now, the thing you really need to know about menstrual cups is that there are loads of different shapes and sizes to choose from to suit different body shapes. I kind of ignored this information and went for the OrganiCup as it was totally sold to me by the ladies reviewing it. This was a big error for me. Firstly, even just deciding upon which size to buy, I found confusing. I am 40 Years old and have had 2 children by elective C-Section, so I really couldn't decide weather I should get the A or B. Luckily, they were on offer, so I bought both. When they arrived, I was actually quite excited to test them out. Sad, I know. Some of the advice out there is to practice putting the cup in before your actually start your period. This I did, with what I thought, great success. I was feeling quite smug about this. However, fast forward a few days and when I tried to use it when I was actually on my period I had loads of problems. I found it nearly impossible to open it once it was inside me, then trying to reach it to take it out was hideous, and it leaked horribly. I could not go anywhere without using a pad, and as someone who HATES pads, I was definitely not enjoying my experience with the cup. I however, am not one for giving up so kept at it, and after 3 days, I actually had success with the cup and it didn't leak at all, hurray. However, I have now had a few periods and my relationship with the OrganiCup is not a good one. I have had lots of problems with it. It once took me nearly 30mins to put it in the right position and open it up. I have had problems with it leaking and once, to my horror, the cup had actually managed to completely turn upside down inside me. This, was not pleasant, AT ALL! That was the last straw for me, and as I really didn't want to go back to tampons, and as I've already said I really don't give up easliy, I scoured the internet once again to see what I was doing wrong, as I do feel user error could be a problem with this product. I happened upon a really good U Tube page called ‘Put a cup in it’ which allows you to take a quiz to find the correct menstrual cup for your body shape. After taking the quiz, I discovered that the OrganiCup was just the wrong shape for me, and this is the key when it comes to menstrual cups. We are all built differently, and until you actually take the plunge and give one a go, you're never going to really know if you have the right one for you, but please don't let this put you off. This is the most important thing about this review. The OrganiCup might be the best thing for lots of different people, however, for me and my body shape, it just wasn't right. I have now got a different menstrual cup which opens up easily and I have up to now, had no problems with it leaking. So if you are thinking about getting a cup, go for it, just do a bit research first as when you first start using one, it really is quite a learning curve, and you do have to give it time. My tips if you are thinking about getting one. 1. Get yourself on the Internet and do a bit of research. 2. Look at all of the different shapes and sizes. ‘Put a cup in it’ is a brilliant learning resource - it really helped me. 3. Look at the different folds that you can use. 4. It can be quite messy, if you don't like getting messy, this might not be for you. 5. To clean the period blood from your cup, empty down the loo, give it a wipe with some toilet roll and then rinse it with cold water first, then hot, otherwise the cup will stain. 6. Use a bit of lube on the cup to insert it, it really will make things easier for you. 7. Once you get the knack of using a cup, they are awesome things. You can pop one in first thing in the morning and not have to worry about it until after you get in from work. 8. You don't have to worry about taking anything else out with you. 9. There is no extra waste being dumped in the Environment. 10. There are no nasty tampon strings dangling out of your body. Even though the OrganiCup was not for me, I would still recommend it, it just wasn't right for my body shape.

Initially I was really hesitant at using one of these and put it off for a couple of years but after the very first use I took to it immediately. Within the first application I found this entirely revolutionary. I originally thought the Organicup would’ve been more invasive than a tampon due to the size but it fits your body a lot better and once it’s in you genuinely cannot feel it, even when sitting down. Also, when the cup arrived I was shocked at how small it actually is. Due to the nature of the way the cup ‘collects’ you’ll find that you feel more healthy and not dry. This is something I found so good as I found tampons incredibly drying and quite sore to have to keep applying and removing. The cup offers the security of a regular tampon but without the discomfort of wearing one. It’s incredibly easy to apply. The company offer lots of advice on their website if you’re struggling. It’s hygienic, odour- free and really easy to clean. Also because you can visually see how much blood is within the cup it gives you a very good indication of when you’re menstruation is due to end; again another pro of the cup! You can leave it in for 12 hours at a time making it absolutely perfect for bedtime or travelling! I put it in the morning then clean it out and reapply it before bed. 2 times a day and you’re sorted! Unlike a tampon or pad. Not to mention this is incredibly environmentally friendly; which was my initial motive on using this product. On a more personal note, due to the security of the OrganiCup it means that even during menstruation you can still be (somewhat, to an extent) sexually expressive (just not vaginal penetration obviously!). I 100% recommend this product! I will never go back to tampons or pads. The only downside of the cup, I believe, is that it could be awkward to apply initially, however I personally didn’t find this at all. My first application was so easy, I used the companies video on YouTube and found that very helpful! I hope you give the product a try because it took me 24 months to have the courage and now I wished I had been using this from the very start!

Also ich muss sagen, zunächst war ich wirklich skeptisch gegenüber einer Menstruationstasse. Da ich aber immer häufiger merkte, dass mir Tampons nicht gut tun, bestellte ich mir die Menstruationsstasse von OrganiCup und was soll ich sagen..Ich bin begeistert! Die Tasse wird in zwei verschiedenen Größen angeboten, da ich noch nicht vaginal entbunden habe, entschied ich mich für die Größe A. Ich las zunächst die Anleitung (welche auf englisch ist!) und kochte die Tasse für ca. 5 Minuten ab. Währenddessen machte ich mich im Internet über das Einsetzen und Herausnehmen schlau und erprobte mich an verschiedenen Falttechniken der Menstruationstasse. Am ersten Tag meiner Periode war ich glücklicherweise Zuhause und konnte so die Tasse in aller Ruhe ausprobieren. Bei mir funktionierte die in der Anleitung angegebene Falttechnik nicht, nach weiteren Versuchen hab ich nun für mich den 7 fold als perfekte Falttechnik erkannt. Nicht gleich verrückt werden, wenn die Tasse beim ersten Mal nicht richtig aufgeht! Übung macht bekanntlich den Meister:) Ich persönlich finde, dass man die Menstruationstasse kein bisschen mehr als einen Tampon fühlt. Zur Sicherheit habe ich an den ersten Tagen trotzdem noch zusätzlich eine Binde eingelegt. Nach einigen Stunden machte ich mich an den Versuch die Tasse herauszunehmen. Hier kam ich tatsächlich auch etwas (sehr!) ins Verzweifeln, da die Tasse weiter nach hinten gerutscht war, und ich den Unterdruck nicht lösen konnte. Nach weiteren Recherchen in diesem Internet, las ich, dass sich viele Frauen auf die Toilette setzten, da dadurch die Tasse automatisch weiter nach vorne geschoben wurde. Dies war auch die Lösung für mich! Finde ich eigentlich auch perfekt, da so Missgeschicke vermieden werden können und die Tasse direkt ausgeleert werden kann. Anschließend einfach mit Wasser ausspülen oder mit Toilettenpapier auswischen. Nach der Periode die Tasse wieder für ca. 5 Minuten abkochen und in dem mitgelieferten Täschchen verstauen. Also alles in Allem bin ich wirklich froh mir diese Menstruationstasse gekauft zu haben! Sie kann bis zu 12 Stunden drin bleiben, ohne geleert zu werden, also muss sie theoretisch nur 2mal täglich gewechselt werden! Ein weiterer positiver Aspekt ist natürlich der des Geldes (denkt mal nach wie viel Geld ihr für Tampons und Binden ausgebt!) und weniger Müllproduktion. Sehr zu empfehlen:)

Ik gebruik de cup al een vijftal jaar en ben hier zeer tevreden van! Deze heb ik gekocht ter vervanging van mijn eerste cup, die dus al die jaren al perfect meeging. In de nieuwe is er intussen een aanpassing gedaan aan de samenstelling, en ik vind deze eigenlijk nu zelfs beter. Hij kuist beter, zit comfortabeler en het eindje om hem aan vast te nemen is steviger. Ik raad deze aan iedereen aan. Je bespaart je zo veel geld en afval!

Buying this cup was one of the best decisions I've made. It took a bit of getting used to. I would always recommend it.

Ho studiato un po' prima di comprare la coppetta e tra tutte le cose che ho letto e le videorecensioni viste, quella di organicup mi è sembrata la più convincente. A parere di chi ne ha usate diverse questa risulta essere migliore come materiali. Il silicone è perfetto malleabile e non troppo spesso come altre coppette che mi è capitato di vedere. È assolutamente inodore e sul sito del marchio potrete trovare anche dei video per l'utilizzo che possono aiutarvi a familiarizzare con questo metodo rivoluzionario di vivere il ciclo mestruale. Ti dimentichi completamente di averla indosso, alla mia non è stato neppure necessario tagliare il pirulino finale dell'imbuto ma questa è una cosa assolutamente personale e se tagliarlo o meno dipende dalle nostre misure anatomiche. Per l'inserimento vi consiglio di guardare diversi videoconsigli che esistono in rete, mi hanno molto aiutata, anche perché se le informazioni che avete acquisito non sono abbastanza chiare la vostra esperienza potrebbe rivelarsi negativa. Per noi invece è davvero una svolta quindi non arrendetevi e provate e riprovate. Esistono due taglie, una per chi ha partorito e una per chi non ha ancora avuto figli. Le prime volte consiglio di indossare un assorbente così da verificare se l'avete messa bene o meno e vi farà stare anche più tranquille...poi sarà tutto automatico. Prima del ciclo va bollita da 3 a 5 min per sterilizzarla. Operazione da fare all'inizio e alla fine del ciclo e quando la riponete via nel suo sacchettino (in dotazione).prima di metterla bagnatela sotto l'acqua così vi sarà facile inserirla. Quante ore tenerla dipende dal flusso, tocca fare delle prove e vedere.io la tengo su anche 12 ore senza problemi. E nn ha controindicazioni come l'assorbente interno. Esperienza superconsigliata. Prodotto perfetto. Si può lavare durante gli utilizzi con del semplice detergente intimo. Se non siete a casa e nn avete a portata di mano acqua affidabile utilizzate una bottiglietta x stare sicure. Ribadisco, guardate diversi video presenti in rete riguardo l'inserimento per non far sì che la vostra esperienza si riveli una pataccata perché ne vale la pena!
