We use this in our motorhome, as the hose is long enough to reach most water outlets on campsites, it is a lightweight, compact design and the holder keeps the hose tidy and very easy to move. The hose has quite a narrow lumen, but this does not affect flow, unduly. The connectors and spray attachment work well, though some of the sprayer settings work better than others. A good, compact and competitively priced hose reel.

Good quality hose reel and easy to set up. The gun works well and the reel keeps everything tidy. My only issue was that I needed a longer hose, but that was completely my bad for not measuring properly before ordering. Other than that, no complaints and it does exactly what it should.

I bought this Hozelock Pico hose reel for the side return garden. It’s basically a very small plastic hose and it’s brilliant for my purposes. It feels a bit cheap and toy-like if I’m honest, but that’s also kind of the point. It’s light, it doesn’t tangle, and I’m not fighting with it every time I just want to water a few pots or rinse the patio. I didn’t think I’d care about a hose reel, but I do love it. Note the hose itself is smaller in diameter to a regular hose but it is not really noticeable in the flow.

Like for quite a few other people my hosereel developed a leak in the drum. Firstly the odd drip and then a continuous stream. I decided to open up the drum and found it quite easy. Just 4 screws (3 one side, 1 the other. Though they are the five star Torx screws and are quite deeply recessed and you will need one with an extended shank and not just the 25mm bit. With the inner workings exposed I reconnected to water supply and it was evident that the leak was not the O-ring (though I replaced it anyway as I had the drum opened up) but the connection between the short feeder pipe and the inlet sub of the plastic manifold that connects the two hoses. The clamp on the hose is quite crude just an oversize metal ring that is crimped tight but liable to loosen. I swopped this with a small jubilee clip, reassembled, and all has been fine and leak free since. A fifteen-minute job and 50p for the jubilee clip. As a word of warning I suspect that any DIY repair that turned out unsuccessful would invalidate the guarantee. So please only tackle if you are unable, or have no intention, of seeking repair or replacement through the warranty. Overall I like the compact and tidy design that looks fine in a small garden. Shame about the quality of the hose attachments.

Versatile, Lightweight, easy to use. Good while it lasts though! The shorter hose section, that is "yellow" in colour, is of lower grade than the grey section of the hose. The yellow hose section will, and I do mean will, eventually deterioriate, and leak through the sides of the tubing. Its just a matter of time. This is not so great of a problem, if it could be easily repaired or replaced with another hose section, purchased separately, or even sold by hozelock. Unfortunately the yellow hose section is not a modular component, and can not be so easily repaired at a consumer level. There is a "metal" factory fitted permanent clamp which attaches one end of the yellow hose section to the reel unit. This needs to be twisted off using pliers with force, thus destroying the metal clamp entirely. One would need to buy an adjustable (Screw fit type) metal hose clamp of suitable diameter, in addition to a suitable spare section of hose. Homebase brand and some other brand standard diameter hoses will not fit as they are a bit too wide in diameter to cinch down securely. This will leak though, and waste water, which is not ideal. Hozelock have made this, effectvely a semi permanent connection, so that consumers can not simply "click-fit" another hose section to make whole reel re-useable again. Therefore this product does have a deliberate built in obsolescence. Most consumers would likely resort to disposing of the whole reel unit except for the spray gun, and then buying another entire reel unit which comes with another spray gun. There is a lot (maybe 90%+) of plastic material waste for the sake of a simple section of hose (approx 1 metre or so). Hozelock are not making this product environmentally friendly, when it comes to consumers being able to re-use or repair this product. After all, there is far less profit in selling a short section of replacement hose than selling an entire new reel unit.

Hozelock Ltd HZ24250000 Pico Reel, Yellow, 10m: I have a small garden full of veggies and needed a replacement hose for my old and trusty spring coiled hose,that perished, that could reach my entire garden without the chore of mauling the full size hose and reel around. After much research I purchased this 10m dinky little hose reel and so far I am very pleased with it. It is of all plastic construction but seems sturdy enough and I foresee many years of use if treated with respect. It does not have industrial build but then again it doesn’t have an industrial build price either. I have dropped it a few times without incident. The hose pipe is of a smaller diameter than standard but with my water pressure there are no flow issues and I get, depending on the spray setting selected, a powerful water flow. The hose reel is dinky and is ideal to carry around when watering, spooling and unspooling as you go. The spray nozzle has many useful spray patterns of which I use the gentle watering can like setting the most and it also has a adjuster for the flow rate as well as a lock to hold the trigger open. Thoughtful. It’s easy to wind up once finished but remember to move the hose ( still pressurised from side to side to ensure even spooling and no jamming. Then release the water pressure and both ends have clamps to attach them on the hose spool. Very thoughtful. This is one of my top 3 gardening gadgets

Buena calidad de la manguera y roscas, lo tengo conectado a una toma estandard media pulgada (el que es en la mayoria de duchas por ejemplo) , se puede tener el grifo abierto y no gotea (soporta la presión del agua). Eso si, son 10 metros en total, pero en realidad la manguera de riego es de 2m , luego la manguera de toma de agua son de 8m, por eso te tienes que llevar el carrete contigo.
